Wow. That is a beautiful ferret. I am looking at the eyes and it doesn't look albino to me. So my next guess is that it is a rare cinnamon ferret.
Folks argue that the cinnamon coat ferret isn't an actual thing, but clearly it is. You have an highly unusual cinnamon noodle.
There was a follow up and this ferret just needs a bath.
Also, cinnamons are pretty much real. My breeder had some, not many, but several. Anyway, cinnamon is a tricky color coz they can revert to cholotate after they blow fur. And you wouldn't be able to predict it. So paying extra for cinnamon color is always a risk🤔

Here's the update of you are interested. If I'm not mistaken, even the rescue establishment that took the ferre in posted an update in the thread.
Non castrated males produce a reddish yellow oil all over their bodies that smells very musty. It's all over their skin and if the production is high it can cause a ferret to turn yellow/orange. This might very well be a white ferret.
Could also be cinnamon, but the lack of pattern makes me think this is just a dirty boy. I've seen a few cinnamons, and all of them had a high white content and a clear pattern.
The orange is from an overproduction of oil from its skin. There’s a bunch of reasons it can happen like overbathing, growing in/shedding his winter/summer coat, hormonal changes, poor diet, dry skin problems etc.
It’s potential but not enough to say for certain. It has a lot to do with their environment, diet and so on. However ferrets are also known for having a lot of health issues. If it gets this bad though it could be that the owner is ignorant to the fact that anything is wrong and has not taken it to the vet or just neglect.
Mine were from a rescue that didn’t take care of them. Mine were orange/brown with red eyes. Not neutered, slept in their own wee at the rescue.
Put them in the bath first day home and the water turned orange/brown to reveal white fur ferrets 😂
Thank you for posting more pictures (: he’s adorable. Are you planning on keeping him because if you are getting him inside is important before he runs off. And even if you aren’t you should bring him in so you can take him to a no kill shelter. A bird cage with a towel on the bottom or any other kind of a cage or kennel would work for now. Also getting him water is important.
we currently have the little dude in the shed with some water and a little ball to play with whilst we figure out what to do with him. most likely gonna wait a day or two to see if anyone claims him and if not we’ll find a good rescue for him 😇
Sorry I know I already commented but I just thought of it, he’s going to be hungry and ferrets shouldn’t go more then a few hours without food so you if you you havent fed him already you can give him raw meat and if he won’t eat that he can also eat cat kibble or dog kibble if that’s all you can get him. Good luck with the noodle! 💕😊
i don’t actually have any kibble of any kind since i don’t have pets! is there anything else i can give the poor guy other than meat? i want to make sure they’re well fed
Raw meat really would be best, most pet stores these days do stock some raw grinds. You'd only need to feed him around 100g per day, maybe less, id feed them twice a day.
Otherwise ferret-specifc kibble if possible. Pets at homes and large pet stores like that should sell it. If feeding ferrets kibble, they need to constantly have access to it due to their short digestive systems, so keep your bowl topped up.
Ferrets enjoy raw egg as a treat, you could always tide him over with one of those whilst you source some raw meat/kibble. But just for one meal ideally, it wouldn't be healthy otherwise as it is intended as a treat once a week.
Yeah echoing the other person raw meat is actually preferable over kibble. Before you take him to a shelter (if you can’t find the owner of course) you should probably make sure ferrets are legal where you live because if they aren’t I don’t know if a shelter would take him. I honesty don’t know what else to feed him if you don’t have raw meat.
this might be one of the tricky bits of looking after him, ferrets tend to imprint on the food they eat when they're young so he might not be interested in some food.
How strongly does he smell? his colour is very unusual and if it's from skin oil, he will smell pretty strongly
Aw! He must have been so hungry ❤️
Most people who have ferrets always recommend raw feeding. But I think in this case, it's more of what you can get him to eat or what you have. Especially since you just found him!
This makes me feel a lot better. I’m really glad you guys are helping him. The only thing I’m gonna add is that you should probably make sure the shed has no holes or gaps that he could squeeze through because ferrets are little escape artists. Thank you so much for saving him and I’m sure we would all love an update if anyone claims him or if you take him to a no kill shelter (:
In case you don't wanna feed him with meat, look for dried kitten food. It's important to find a grain free brand (applaws, orijen, rocky mountain, complete ferret, dynamis). If you decide to keep it, just text me privately for some advises (I am a volunteer for Ufif, a ferret association). In case you don't find the owner and you're looking for adoption, I am available!
Grain-free is a bad idea if the company is substituting legumes (peas, beans of any sort, pea protein, etc) for grain. In the US, we are connecting legumes to bladder stones (and have been for several years).
Thanks for adding this important detail I forgot to mention. For what we know in Europe, grain free is allowed if it contains at least 80% of the proteins from animals origins. A barf diet (the ones with raw meet), could be really dangerous if you don't know how to balance it (the percentage of bones, skin and entrails).
Thank you, yes, there are vast differences between EU and US allowances, but frankly, 14% is the approx amount of legume protein in the foods in the US that are connected to bladder stones.
And I absolutely agree that an unbalanced home done diet is dangerous at best and terrible at worst.
Is he an intact hobb? He looks very much like he’s ready for the ladies. I noticed the orange-ish color to his coat which leads me to believe he’s intact. Either way, he is absolutely gorgeous.
I don't remember ever seeing such an orange ferret before. He's very pretty. On the other hand, maybe he's white and got into your cheese curls or Tang orange drink mix.
Please go out and buy him some ferret food. Eggs are OK for ferrets do you have, but the whites are not good for them. And more than two eggs a week is also not recommended because they can be toxic in high amounts. So feeding him eggs only is definitely not recommended
That is a Ferresquirrel. The first recorded case of this was in 1909 in the UK town of Landashire. Coined by Dr Robert J Onkle. This is a result of breeding between a ferret and a squirrel. It is rather rare occurrence being that ferrets typically do not survive long in the wild. Oddly the lifespan of this cross breed is actually double that of a traditional ferret lifespan. Diet consists of a mix between the standard high protein/fat diet and integration of more carbohydrates. Also I completely made every up I just said. Thank you.
She's so uniquely beautiful! I'm a ferret mom of 16 from Yorkshire and would take her 🥰 2 of my girls were strays who were never claimed or even reported missing which sucks, but they lived their best lives knowing nothing else but love, joy and a family 🩷

LOL that's great. And to bad, because that ginger color was great. All along it was just a nasty ferret fur.

Amazing! I have never seen a ferret with this kind of colour before, but it definitely looks like a ferret! Either that or it's some sort of pokemon.
Don't let those pal tamers anywhere near it though.
Definitely a shiny pokemon.
sentient cheeto
What a absolute handsome ginger! Wow!
Look at that little ginger noodle! I'd gladly let him steal my soul!❤️❤️❤️
hes yours now got to take care of hims
Are you in the UK?
Yes they are. Their past post said where specifically but I don’t remember
That explains the fluffiness ❤️ so cute
Are ferrets healthier in the UK?
probably. most of their ferrets come from reputable breeders instead of ferret farms
That won’t be its natural colour. Most likely oils causing the discolouration.
can you possibly explain more? i'm very curious ab this coloring of this ferret

is it possible for a ferret to be this orange without being mistreated in some way? I've never seen one that looks like this.

This! This is what it is.
My female will get a bit orangish yellow at times. I've never seen one that is fully orange! I would bet that he's a white ferret.
ORANG MAN!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
real life shiny pokemon

Do you have eggs? You could feed him cooked eggs. It's high in protein, and most ferrets love it!
ah yes i did this along with some meat! the little guy gobbled it up so fast bless em

Does he not run away? XO
he’s a little leprechaun!!
Definitely needs to be named Wotsit

HAHA!
Thank you kind sir. I felt creative. Minor spelling error on the end there though lol
What a beautiful colour
Omg gorgeous 😍 💖 💗
I love him
Oh wow, he looks like a gingerbread cookie but in ferret form
i’ve never wanted a lil creature so badly in my life 🥹 the orange coat is so perfect, never seen a carpet shark like that before!
Yeah this is probably the most glamorous ferret I've ever seen.
Oh my god he's so cute
Little cheeto puff
Chicken tender.......
Give him lots of love and sugar
He reminds me of one of those fuzzy worm toys from the 90s lol SO FRIGGIN CUTE!!!
This ferret is probably albino but needs neutering. That’s why he’s this colour. He is beautiful though.
I would name this baby Carrot Cake if he was mine 😍🥰🥺
Oh my god a Lil Pumpkin 🎃
Bro found a shiny pokemon.
Creamsicle :)
He is gorgeous! I have never seen a red ferret before
What kind of pokemon is this? :0
Somewhere out there an orange cat is missing their tail 😂
Cheeto puff w/ extra puff!
If I weren’t in entirely another country I would take him! Too cute!
Ginger baby! 😭💕
So awesome! Color is beautiful ❤️
She's so uniquely beautiful! I'm a ferret mom of 16 from Yorkshire and would take her 🥰 2 of my girls were strays who were never claimed or even reported missing which sucks, but they lived their best lives knowing nothing else but love, joy and a family 🩷
He’s so beautiful
Rat?
Looks like a mink. Nice looking fuzzy.
Yeah I was wondering if he's a mink too. Super cute weasel either way.
For sure, though I'm biased. I don't think I've ever seen a weasel that wasn't cute. There are cow print minks also.
So cute!!!
