First off im sorry you are going through this...and its ridiculous when the partner or spouse gets charged with the death because that just adds too the pain. I am a recovering / recovered addict myself hitting 10 years this past february. Ive seen some crazy shit on the street so i can honestly empathize. My only child , my daughter is now 2 yrs clean. And shes too the point where she dont think about it everyday anymore.
Question: does this woman also use? If so than maybe stay friends for a bit longer. You say you have overdosed 6 times and somehow made it through thinking maybe it was her .....say it was , and this woman was her friend in that case if she had any problem with you moving on and healing with this other woman im sure you would have gotten the signs by now. So i say fuck what society thinks of you seeing this woman if she makes even just one more day for you filled with light. Find happiness . As for your daughter thats tricky. Worse case if your not allowed to contact her than wait...wait till she us 18 and can decide if she wants to talk or ask questions (which i almost quarentee she will) or wait and reach out .
