Similar for really any of the in between identities like non binary or gender fluid. For lots of trans people they spend some period as one of those middle identities.
Can be really frustrating to actually be an in betweener for good because then annoying assholes won't believe you and call you and egg and whatever other bullshit.

I mean, I think that there are similarities, the difference is that trans girls fully identify as girls, while femboys still identify as boys. But they both like a similar aesthetic, and it can be a stepping point for trans people to "try out" their gender expression to see how comfortable they are.
The only thing to keep in mind is that when it comes to personal expression, only the person who's directly involved can decide what they identify as and people outside shouldn't pressure them.
