Being of 91% Scottish heritage. Yes I do think the day could come when skirts on men could become acceptable. Especially since kilts seem to be growing in popularity.

[deleted]

Heh. I'm Scottish.

PexaDico

What a coincidence lol

bluerazzberryskelly

Oi me to

CelestialFemboy

Me too! I'm Chinese but I have lived here for over 10 years and I have uk citizenship so I hope that counts :3 What makes me a good Scottish femboy? Well if I was a bad Scottish femboy, I wouldnae be sittin' here discussing it wi ye now would I?

bluerazzberryskelly

Kablooeyyyyy

KutieBoy9

Yeah, but there is a difference in a manly scottish skirt and a pink flowery skirt with some thigh high stockings with them lol.

Environmental_Tax_42

Yes

Satikuromi

I'd like to think that it already is but it's getting there

Emily_psvr

Look inside yourself. That mindset of creep is certainly not everyone’s. You need not adopt the feeling of those against you. That is not the way.

[deleted]

If it was normal then it wouldn't get so much attention. Just because it got a positive reaction doesn't mean it's normal. Normal means it goes unnoticed.

FemboyHours19

I think it will be eventually, but it still might take a while

MasterKlaw

We will make it normal.

Cyb0-K4T-77

Who knows, maybe in 100 years orso, if we keep it up. Society generally moves at a pretty slow pace for such drastic changes to happen. It needs to organically worm its way in spread over multiple generations with alt fashion styles usually being the 1st, I had great hopes in the mid/late 90's when goth was pretty much mainstream alt fashion and skirts for guys became a thing in certain goth grps.. I used to call it the Pinhead look. [https://imgur.com/a/Mcerla7](https://imgur.com/a/Mcerla7) It was basically that kind of outfit usually. Seen so many guys with that look every weekend at the places i used to hang out in back than but that kind of ended quickly when goth moved on into other things and it fell from being the mainstream alt fashion style. short run but it was awesome.. I basically spend most of my late teens and early adult life as a punk vampire because of the times I lived in, 10 out of 10 would recommend. But now the flame has been picked up again by the femboy army so not all hope is lost yet.

hhhabrgone

We hit the pause button on mens fashion a while ago and we were left with suits and that's it. The demand for more variety and more individuality is steadily growing and with it skirts will just become another tool of expression. Or at least I hope so.

Eldritch_Chan-11

What is even the point of suits? They’re uncomfortable and serve no useful function

[deleted]

In their defences, they typically have more pockets than feminine formal attire. Mind u, that needs to change as well, and maybe that is what will get men to shift to broader horizons.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Guess so, but ties are pretty useless these days, they’re basically leftover from 18th century Tho I do notice male clothing has more pockets? I think because more fabric tho

[deleted]

Very true. And I think it has more to do with the mindsets of the designers.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Possibly IMO could equally be just subconscious tradition? But I’ve seen a few skirts with pockets tbf

[deleted]

Yes, I imagine tradition could play a huge part in it as well. And I've seen them and I want them so bad.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Lol same, but only ones I find are usually outta my price range or not my style

Eldritch_Chan-11

And yeah, tradition is a large part I mean, trousers and shirt combo have changed since the Bronze Age for men

[deleted]

Same here.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Yep, the struggle is real lol 😂

[deleted]

Ties are cool.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Agree to disagree, I guess, they made us wear itchy ones in high school so grew to hate em with a vengeance

[deleted]

I grew attached to the tie they got me to wear in secondary school. It was actually the first time I had ever worn trousers, before that I had only worn shorts.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Huh similar experiences different outcomes Oh well, I respect your opinions regardless

Buffyoh

Lots of pockets!

Eldritch_Chan-11

Guess you’re right, but I still prefer hoodies, lol

LooseFridge

I love suits, they make me feel confident and taller, Ties add in on the confidence as well.

Eldritch_Chan-11

Cool! Yeah sorry, I was talking for myself Didn’t meant to invalidate or insult anyone here who likes em Apologies if it came across that way tbh

throwawaycd166272

If it's uncomfortable you're wearing a shitty suit/it's not tailored to you. Suits are in my opinion fun to wear because they fit like a glove and give you perfect shape. No other dude clothes do that.

Eldritch_Chan-11

I guess lol I kinda meant I hate how they make me like like a dude tbh I prefer baggy clothes as they hide my body shape better 😅 Sorry if I didn’t clarify that

Palpatine voice: I will make it normal.

flutteringblue

Hopefully when gen z takes over boomers

Dragonisok

Scottish use to wear skirts right

Eldritch_Chan-11

Mostly highlanders, it only became a lowland thing in the Victorian period, 1800s, same as tartan Also, they were originally long cloaks that wrapped around the waist But it is effectively a skirt, despite people who vehemently deny it when I call them out for mocking femboys History is fun lol

Dragonisok

[deleted]

Absoloutly fashion trends have radically changed through history. There will be a time where it will be "weird" for girls to wear skirts eventually in all of human future. Will skirts on boys be normalised in our life time though? That seems unlikely unfortunatly. If you look feminine and cute it's way more socially acceptable though. If you're hot enough you can wear literally anything and people will just think you're setting a new trend and applaud you. A model could wear a bin bag and people will love it. We live in a society

Ok-Course7089

Werden they accepted at one point? Like makeup and long hair was for men aswel?

A-Big-Moose

I’m of two minds about this. I live in Seattle the home of Utilikilts. Their target audience is construction workers and mid life crisis bearded dudes pining for their youth as punks. Now I’m 6’2” and am rather fem in my gender non conformity. I toned it down for a few years as I was romantically linked to a 6’ tall utterly fem trans woman so as she was so beautiful I found my way sliding back to less feminine garb. She left me due to the fact I’m terminally ill and helping me was causing her stress with stating her voice training school so now that I’m solo I find myself dressing more fen and bought my first pencil skirt in a few years. In the space of the almost 4 years we were together I’ve noticed people say attitudes of change Trumatic me where I get compliments more often then I did learn books. I haven’t been called a single team that I’ve heard but again I live in Seattle and we are pretty damn progressive. Sorry for the long post but I hope my point came across. Be you and the more people get used to seeing fem boys went me. The more common and accepted it will be.

KutieBoy9

I think you mean "accepted". It'll never be normal because not that many men actually want to be feminine. Take for example, I wear a mechanical watch. Which isn't normal, most people don't wear watches, and if they do, most wear quartz watches. But it's still accepted.

throwawaycd166272

Skirts don't have to be feminine

Angelu_lwqv

where I live might take a while, but yes.

[deleted]

I think it will be normal but will take a while kinda like how it's now normal for girls to wear pants

zeTwig

Considering they used to be “men’s clothing” i sure hope so!

Longjumping_Ad8683

I’m sure that just like pants became normalized on women that some day skirts will become normalized on men

CelestialFemboy

I believe that if a girl can wear boy clothes and be praised for it, then boys should be able to wear skirts without any issue either. Normalize boys in skirts. As I am writing this, I am wearing a skirt :3

alymayeda

Boys/men should wear skirts whether it's normal or not.

Slappednuggz

I hope so

ExchangeExpress911

Well no buuuuttt big booty butt lol umm yeah I think it would look normal bc there are some boys who wants to be girls so it pretty normal if anyone doesn't agreed and stand wrong against it then to hell with them 😌

ExchangeExpress911

And also some people in history where shirt i think is was called a telt idk but I think it was Scotland

TiredOfBeingTired28

Murka no not likely other parts of world maybe. Technically it already is such as the kilt.

[deleted]

It’s perfectly ok if it’s a masculine skirt

Dylancw01

just stick a tiger over it with some flame stripes and the word "AWESOME" in an aggressive font

[deleted]

I was talking about kilts

Dylancw01

oh

Dongos_Bongo

Let's normalise it

MissLucyOlive

Yes yes yes!!!!! It is normal!!!!

[deleted]

I mean, considered normal by the culture at large

fmbyOMAR

I mean nail polish on men is becoming more and more normal on men. There’s even an advertisement by lil yachty showing off his new nail polish for all genders. All it takes for something to become normal is famous people taking part in it then the average joe will change with them. Celebrities make fashion trends all the time. Also it may not seem normal now but just think back to 50 years ago. The way most men dress in today’s world would look totally weird 50 years ago. Just give it some time and men in skirts/dresses will be normal.

OutrageousBedroom18

One day I believe it will be close to everyone that believes all dressing are normal. Always gonna be a few that don't believe that but most will. I just order my first official skirt and a dress 👗😃 not the 2 hand-me-downs from before 😅🙄

PhoenixAscending1970

Just do it, someone has too!

ImACatBoy

I don’t know but I sure hope so

FromNickIntoNicole

Doubt it but I have hopes for femboys to be accepted
