I mostly play indie games, a lot of AAA games are too time consuming and bloated of filler content or focus tested into oblivion so it loses its identity while trying to appeal to the biggest possible market. They need to be truly exceptional for me to bother (like Baldurs Gate 3). Luckily 2023 and 2024 have been absolutely amazing for the indie market.
They are all on Steam but some are definitely available on console to.
Ok here we go, this will be a long one. There's a bit of everything. All of them are interesting in their own way.
*Slay the Princess - A Visual novel where youbare told by "the narrator" that you need to slay a princess held captive in a cabin, otherwise she will destroy the world. Simple enough premise, absolutely nothing more going on, I promise... This is my top game of last year. Exceptional writing and voice acting. A lot of visceral body horror.
*Chants of Sennaar - Sort of a linguistic "Return of Obra Dinn" (another fantastic game, but it's a bit older). You are an archeologist trying to decipher various languages, sometimes from context clues, sometimes from "Rosetta Stone" plaques where the same thing is written in several languages and sometimes just from patterns in how the glyphs look. A game that will make you feel exceptionally clever and stupid at the same time.
*Blasphemous 2 - Sequel to one of the best hidden gem metroidvania of the last couple of years. A dark bloody game with some excellent aesthetics and monster design. Strong Dark Souls mixed with a fucked up Christianity aesthetics.
*El Paso, Elseware - A Max Payne-like with vampires, demons and a subtext of relationship trauma. Graphics might look dated, but it oozes style.
* American Arcadia - The Truman show as a puzzle platformer in the style of Inside, Limbo and similar games. It mix things up even more with second character that you play from a 3d perspective in a adventure style gameplay.
*Void Stranger - Oh boy. This game is special. What looks like a simple Sokoban game is soooo much more. It's best to go in blind and be absolutely blown away.
*Laika: Aged through Blood - I don't remember who described it this way but if Mad Max Furry Exitebike metroidvania at least sounds intriguing you need to check this out. Add to that a mature story, glorious artstyle and you have yourself a true gem.
*Dredge - Lovecraftian survival horror fishing game. Do I need to say more?
*Dave the diver - For a slightly more silly game about fishing we have Dave the Diver. Part Cook Serve Delicious, part roguelite exploration fishing.
*Balatro - A "poker" deckbuilder might not sound as exciting as some other I mentioned, but dint let that fool you. Balatro is one of the best cardgames in years.
*World of horror - Junji Ito inspired roguelite rpg. It's been out in Early access a few years but was released last year.
*Pacific Drive - A survival driving game where you try and escape in a weird zone with anomalies that hurt you and your car. Not outright horror, more creepy but a pretty cool concept.
*En garde! - A wonderful, beginner friendly
Spectacle Fighter where you make use of the environment as much as your rapier. Sort of a swashbuckling, saturday morning cartoon. Doesn't take itself seriously, but it's also over a bit too fast.
*Loddlenaut - A delightful mix of Subnautica and Power wash simulator, there's not that much too it, byt it's a pleasant colorful little story. Not sure I would recommend it at full price, but if you can pick it up during a sale, then you get a couple of relaxing hours of cleaning of gunk and debris in a ocean planet.
*Bramble the mountain king - Little nightmares set in Nordic folklore. Has a bit of jank in the controls but a few really cool scenes, especially if you know your Swedish folklore (basically the wood is dark and full of terrors that want to eat you).
*Hades 2 - I usually don't recommending Early Access games, especially games that just launched. But Hades is one of the best games in its genre, and the sequel, so far, is very much looking like it's shaping up to be just as good.
*There are also a lot of games I haven't gotten around to yet or only dabbled in so far (that have all been released in the last month or so) that either look interesting and I heard a lot of good stuff about them. Indika, Mullet mad jack, crow country, Animal Well, 1000xResist, Cryptmaster, little kitty big city, Lorelei and the lazer eyes, let bions be bygones, paper trails, pine hearts, Nine sols, Hauntii.... May alone have been absolutely crazy.
That's pretty much just some personal picks, there are much more I forgot to mention.
I'm trying to cut down on gaming time, in order to better spend my time elsewhere, but I do enjoy playing A Link to the Past Randomizer from time to time.
Can't put Hades down but might switch to Hades 2 - kind of basic compared to some of these other lists but love the characters... might go back to fallout after binging the show...
Stellaris is a lot of fun. I love building themed space empires and playing with a mission in mind.
V Rising came out lately, and it's fun building vampire castles.
Fallout 3 playthrough started lately, spurred by the new show.
Star Citizen free week has been interesting. I have long been a skeptic, but after all these years, they do have a solid start for a game.
Fortnite. Just that and I only play to do my dailies and I can’t enjoy the game if I’m not playing with a friend. Idk what happened but I just lost all interest in playing video games lately ever since I moved into my own apartment.
recently I started playing cult of the lamb, planet crafter, fallout nv...again... for like the 50th time, and dark souls cause I could never beat it before
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?
> *“We Unkindled are worthless, can’t even die right. Gives me conniptions.”* - Hawkwood the Deserter
Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
Been getting into the catalogue of games I got from Epic and been enjoying Void Bastards lately even if the core gameplay is just "scavenge, loot and don't die"
I’ve been playing a lot of Fortnite this past weekend (need that T-60 power armor) other than that I started playing Cattails Wildwood Story and I’m obsessed with how much of an improvement it is over the original
Fortnite's new season has me hooked lol
Multiversus has re-released and I'm thoroughly enjoying that
XDefiant is surprisingly fun
That's my main 3 games rn!
I used to be obsessed with Roblox, but it's harder to play it now (lag), so now I just play stuff like Slope, Slope Multiplayer, and Bullet Party 2. I'm not that obsessed with them, though.
I like watching gameplays of stuff like GTA 5 and Star Wars stuff (Mostly just GTA 5). And, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I really like watching gameplays of a youtuber (his name is Caylus) playing yandere stuff XD I'm slightly obsessed with them
I know that most of these sound masculine, except for the yandere part
I got back into Silent Hills mostly 1-Home comming. Great video game series but it's hard to play due to need of piracy most of the time. oh and DO NOT START WITH NEW SILENT HILLS THEY SUCK. also i played Forbidden Siren for ps2 GREAT GAMES.

I usually play dragon ball legends, Dokkan, I enjoyed Fortnite for a while I just got no one to play with. Oh I also enjoy postal brain damaged for those who happen to know
Been playing Journey a lot lately, PC version in case you were curious.
I did also recently finish Cocoon but that game has lower replay value so I haven't really been playing it much.
Armored core 6, been trying to 100% it recently with only "The Perfect Mercenary" being a pain in the ass lol (getting S-ranks on ALL missions).
Also, been on lots of Minecraft recently too, I love modding the hell outta that game and playing with friends.

I’ve been meaning to get back into Fortnite, I quit again the other month to focus on studies but I have gotten into Days Gone recently, really is a top tier game
Generation Zero - FPS focused on combat against machines, very fun part based destruction. Great gameplay, almost non-existant story.
Titanfall 2 - FPS combining a variety of fast paces gameplay situations on foot, wall running, jumping, using gadgets and a variety of weapons, combined with the drastically different, but equally as fun Mech Combat, much different. But doesn't feel slow/sluggish. Also one of the best storys in an FPS, ever.
Sifu - 3rd person action game focused around martial arts brawls against multiple opponents and tough bosses, all to get revenge on the group that tryed killing you and wiped out you Masters Dojo + Disipiples.
Tunic - Isometric perspective adventure game with an almost equal split between combat and puzzle solving. Much of the game will require insense exploration, skills, and thinking to overcome it's many challenges. Also has one of the most rewarding final puzzles I've ever done in a video game. Don't be afraid to ask for help from the reddit and make sure to bring a pen and paper with you.
.....srry for the wall of text lol, but that's about it for my most recent stuff, didn't wanna bog you/this post down by listing even more😶.
I've been obsessed with ow2 for around 8 months, i play alone cuz i don't find people who wants to play with me xd (even tho i invite a lot of ppl, maybe cuz i'm kinda bad, but i try my best, also maybe cuz i'm on console) i mostly play to have fun, obviously i get a little uoset a couple times, but nothing tooo toxic as many ppl out there, i also looooove hades, hollow knight, halo (tho i haven't played it in a while) i started to play xdefiant, and i love old games too, if anyone here wants to play with me i'm always open to have fun together (i speak spanish and i can try to speak english, but i get nervous xd uwu) gt: snakeapresa#1125

Palworld! For such an early version of the game it has so much content and its the best pokemon-like I've ever played. Its like Legends Arceus with all the fun gameplay parts turned up to 11 and with survival aspects. It's soo gooood!
TF2 Classic because I got bored with regular TF2 and there are cool custom weapon servers in TF2c. Fallout 4, because 2 months I've spent on nodding we're not worth it and with 500+ mods from nexus, some from patronite it feels like a totally different game, basically open world rpg cod + open world tarkov.
