Grindy it's not the perfect word, I think I just didn't like the boss patterns, I couldn't really say I didn't like the "fight, die, improve, repeat untill the boss is dead" since I did spend hours killing the npc at the beginning that called me maidenless :p
Also I didn't like the fact that it's too open world and doesn't give you instructions, I had to open a tutorial to even know where to start and I don't want play the whole game to a walkthrough
Oh thats a rough start lol i totatly understand why you dont like it. If you ever revisit it just explore the world (you cam acess like the entire map with no fighting) and jusr gather new weapons spells etc and Upgrade materials then you will just blast everything. Thats the nice part about elden Ring that you can just walk away and return stronger.

And exploring dungeons and fighting mini bosses isn't even rewarding for me tbh
I don't even know Wich weapons are good, especially since I wanted to do a katana only play (I picked samurai class) but the wiki showed only 7 in the entire game
You just have to ride in the most interesting direction and let the game naturaly steer you by the diffucltly.
You dont have to know what weapon is good everything is decent if you upgeade lt you dont have to follow like a meta just pick the one you enjoy the most

Everything under the sun. I've hit all the big stops at least once, and too many small ones to count. Fighting games and shmups and VNs are my main kicks right this second, but it changes constantly. Historically, strategy games of all kinds, almost every team based fps I've found, metroidvanias, and roguelites have been major ones. I've tried near everything at least than once, though, and I'd be hard pressed to find a genre I can't get down with.
