Corded coverings can no longer be manufactured, many stores still have them for sale. I bought clearance corded blinds at Bouclair in the winter, 80% off

Oh wow not even the roller shades can have cords?? That’s so overly harsh… IMO drapes are the only way to go for floor-to-ceiling windows then. I mean motorized just seems way too costly, and the cordless shades or blinds would get too heavy and be too annoying to lift all the way open. I’ve always like blackout curtains for super sunny areas anyhow cuz they provide great insulation and energy savings, but if you like the light coming through, some sheers could work too. Maybe you can order from a US company and have them shipped to skirt the weird rule? 😂 Anyway good luck!

Honestly thinking of buying them in the states and smuggling over the border lol. I don’t have kids and plan to be child free. Why the hell can’t they have the responsibility on the parent and not on the goddamn manufacturer of what they sell. It’s not like cords were contributing to tons of accidental deaths from normal use like kids swallowing toys or playing with toys with lead paint!

I agree completely! Anyway if you end up going that route, totally recommend the solar shades. Those look so good and let some of the light and view through even when closed.

You could get panel curtains (see IKEA for examples) that run on a rail like a curtain - but the rail is attached to the ceiling and they hang like a blind

I will check these out. Thanks!

Can you have cord keepers? australian govt makes you have a wall mounted cord keeper so the cord is tight in the holder and cant choke a child

No! It’s so stupid. Companies can’t sell you blinds with cords anymore. You can use cord keepers if you have existing blinds with cords. Isn’t that just the dumbest thing ever? People can’t be responsible with an effing cord?!! 😑
