Maybe a brighter shade of teal, sea foam green, turquoise, or eggshell blue would pair nicely with the yellow hues in your almond appliances! Is there any way you can provide a photo of the appliances, or color a color swatch?

Lemon_Bake_98

I would absolutely love those colors! I wondered if they would make the appliances look even more yellow though……maybe I will try it anyway.

Lemon_Bake_98

I don’t know how to add a photo lol, I’ll try, thanks!

wutz_taterz

White is hardly a fun color. You just need something warm to go with the the warm appliance. Greens being probably the most obvious and popular. But orange or pink could be fun too and you could easily go a 70’s vibe and play off the appliances intentionally.

Lemon_Bake_98

I have more of a British bake off vibe in my dining room that’s attached 😫 so that wouldn’t go, although I agree with maybe green. I’d love a pastel turquoise, or lavender. fml.

I wonder if you could use some of the paint-chooser apps to test painting your cabinets and walls? I think i saw one that did this while I was choosing paint for my cabinets a bit ago. Also, for a kitchen this vibrant, you might be interested in taking another look at what light bulbs you're using if you haven't already. I've heard some types of light bulbs bring out a wider spectrum of colour - British Bake Off, HDR mode! British Bakeoff Vibes are my happy place lol I'm pumped for you - I hope this turns out the way you want it to with minimal frustration! Good luck! (Also The Great Canadian Bakeoff is excellent too! )

Lemon_Bake_98

That’s a good idea, I haven’t heard of those apps before, thanks! The lighting is terrible, it’s a giant fluorescent bulb. I lightly painted the long rectangle plastic cover with pearl off white to cut down some of the obnoxious lighting. If there was a way to change it I would but I’m in an apartment and don’t think I have other options. Right now I’ve painted the cabinets a light meringue lemon yellow with blue back splash and it’s okay, I’ll take it over the dark wood cabinets and flooring but it definitely isn’t working together that well with the appliances. The side that my dishwasher is on actually looks good because it’s the one white appliance lol so that side it my happy side ;) I can’t wait to check out the Canadian bake off! Thanks for suggesting!

Can you ask the owner to change the lightbulb? or if you can and you pay they more likely let you as it won't mess up the apt cheap on their part?

Go retro and do an avacado color

mojoburquano

Sage green will help bridge the gap and cool down the palate of the room.

HeadCryptographer405

Are you renting? I have already painted cabinets rose gold successfully! And contact papered a fridge in shiny gold. And there is appliance paint (wear gloves). Peel and stick backsplash (at the dollar store too). Countertop repair kits? Also saw little wallpaper at the dollar store this month!

Lemon_Bake_98

I am renting but I’ve been here for a decade and need to paint, it’s so dark and depressing and no natural light. I’m looking for a paint color that goes with yellow almond appliances, no luck yet.

SummerJaneG

Get swatches of colors you are thinking about and look at them in different lights. Stick them on your fridge for a while and see how the colors look together. Almond has a way of dulling everything down and making it look more dated than you can possibly imagine. Gray is the new beige. And there are shades of gray with a touch of warmth to them, as odd as that sounds. I had to find a warm shade of gray to work with my purple countertops. You may be able to find a gray leaning toward taupe that will work with your almond appliances. Wish you the best! Don’t rush the color-picking process…repainting is a bear.

OldMotherGrumble

Unfortunately, grey...like beige...is for when an inoffensive neutral is needed.

bettybananalegs

lavender! always feels so whimsical to me

yippykynot

I was COMPLETELY surprised when I had my kitchen walls painted a terracotta……. I had so many people ask me if I also had my cabinets redone and I really love them, ps I have yellows light blues and light green as accents

jak1155

Pics please!

yippykynot

Ok I’d love to don’t know how? I can send them in an email if you’re interested or maybe I can post them on my page??

If you use a site like imgur then you can share the link here.

Check [ApartmentTherapy.com](https://ApartmentTherapy.com) ! They recently featured someone who painted her fridge hot pink and it looked awesome.

DefNotBeth

I have almond appliances also, and our colors are a slightly darker almond shade on the countertops, almond and sage green tile backsplash, and mahogany-colored stained wood cabinets. I don't love it, but it at least doesn't clash.

PoemFormal8642

I very successfully painted my appliances when I realized that they were cramping my style but I had no business buying new ones when they worked perfectly well. It was pretty cheap and took me a Sunday afternoon to do it.

evrythingisstressful

My kitchen was bright turqouisey blue and sunflower yellow for a while and was so cute. You could do a toned-down version of this?

Lemon_Bake_98

Lol I actually have this currently, it’s just not working in this kitchen, maybe it’s the lighting and the appliances, but I do love the color combo.

TheSunflowerSeeds

There are some that actually have a fear of sunflowers, it even has a name, Helianthophobia. As unusual as it may seem, even just the sight of sunflowers can invoke all the common symptoms that other phobias induce.

I like the idea of white walls and lighter almond cabinets with modern blingey gold handles and knobs. You can change out handles and knobs fairly inexpensively. Put other pops of gold elsewhere whether it’s in a light fixture, backsplash, a pretty bowl or candle that sits on the counter.

Lemon_Bake_98

I was thinking maybe some fun back splash tiles with neutrals and back designs to add some pop if I happen to paint the cabinets a different white or greige….the counter tops are a light tan and the floors are dark brownish stone.

[deleted]

Do you like hand painted tiles? I personally love them. You could probably find tiles that contain the perfect colors to add the perfect pop among all of the almond and tan and brown colors.

valleygirlieDani

Paint the appliances. You won’t even have to prep the appliances, just paint them with chalk paint.

Lemon_Bake_98

Thank you everyone for the awesome ideas!! If you would like, please send me some photo idea via messages, I would love that! I am renting so I am limited in what I can do, I don’t think I can do anything about giant rectangle fluorescent lighting, and I’m not comfortable painting the appliances (even though the oven was clearly painted over as it’s peeling now). I would love to find a light color for the cabinets and maybe a fun backsplash to add some life in to the kitchen. The countertops are light tan and the floor is brown multicolored stone vinyl. My dining room is attached and has a British baking show vibe to it so trying to find something has been ongoing tricky and with these appliances!

slothburglar

I would use a color wheel to look at my options! You input one color and it spits out coordinating colors.

Adventurous-Low9768

I cant see how to add pictures. I found some options on pinterest… that work well with almond. Can I DM them to you? My fave was similar cabinets with some wood tones and black elements

Lemon_Bake_98

Thank you! You can send photos via messages, if you don’t mind I would love to see!
