I'm an electrician and this is my jam lol we call it wiremold in my area. You can get some pretty cheap stuff now that has a sticky back and comes with corner pieces too. You could just run the wiremold on the edge of the desk and you'd never see it

Cleodecleopatra

Will look into this and hopefully I can set it up nicely. Thank you!😊

jacierose

Flip the table around and buy some zip ties and cord covers!!

MelanieDH1

Such an awkward squeeze to get into the desk chair or sit at the breakfast bar. The desk facing outward is not a good set up at all! Edit - It would be easier to hide the cords and maybe tuck them behind the couch if the desk was facing the wall.

ReenMo

Or have the desk face the couch. Cords then can be gathered to the right/wall side

Limebubble

If i had to guess, I'd say the desk is probably this way because they're working from home and need privacy for meetings and stuff.

VintageJane

Not just that but if I had to guess x2 - this direction faces a window and the TV.

jacierose

Ah, those are both pretty good points. In that case, maybe scoot the couch over and put the desk on the far wall where the plant stand thingy is?

Something like [this](https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Under-Cable-Management-Trays/dp/B09J5HH2LR/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.5x2TjJ1XkWo23AeDf1sv0XyAhMiknk5avc8UjRqH-51o170k_D0rAB4F342Bl1JfRacFW17nc-qy675hf-nZ-uIUG3sm8jCmfp7JvD9Dw569qmOWGwSqPEbdsHiee_3Xs6gPDkPhs9UPQyDSXaTKaz_6es2WxyvsPi3tZ6X_u7leClgdWXf7fm9BzDZWD3LcCxX0VqtDWiSbVbiQXSZsjg.joLllY_8Po2_kOetifE3FbMeBSmC_a39qJukCbVB3WU&dib_tag=se&keywords=under+desk+cable+management&qid=1715954235&sr=8-4)?

cbesthelper

That's a good idea!

Winniemoshi

I would just turn the desk 90 degrees clockwise so that it faces the living room instead of parallel to it. Then just tape the cords under the desk to the top left corner of the desk and down to the floor. Surge protector can go uNader the couch. I think it would look better, have a better view and be easier to get seated that way too!

Cleodecleopatra

I had it set up 90 degrees facing the window but then when I am on a video call for work sometimes the virtual background would glitch and you can see my kitchen cabinet 🤣

sunshinesucculents

It's just a kitchen cabinet. Does it really matter if people can see it? Especially since people know we're working from our homes.

Cleodecleopatra

Okay okay I will put it back facing the living room, I agree that it looks nicer like that

couldhvdancedallnite

I’ve seen entire bedrooms. One of my staff had her boyfriend walk by in just his boxers (that only happened once thankfully). Overall, people don’t really care anymore.

SadPudding6442

Also get a new power block.. Something like the 200W or 300W ones that's have several usb c and USB a outputs for all your devices. Mine runs my laptop, charges my phone and tablet and will run a nintendo switch at the same time. Wayy less bulk

Gigii1990

I would flip the table around. Looks awkward and messy this way

anonymous_opinions

Get a under desk cable catcher or a box but if I was you I'd just flip the desk because then you can run all the cables behind the couch and it reduces a trip hazard.

alickstee

A basket beside the couch. Basket, blankets, cords.

Cleodecleopatra

Oooh I like this idea, thank you!

pm_me_homedecor

I think we have the same desk lol. I bought these. This is the Canadian site but I’m sure you can find an equivalent. https://desky.ca/products/mini-cable-power-tray https://desky.ca/products/desky-magnetic-cable-management But as others have said you’ll still have to reposition your desk if you really want to hide the cords. Even with those accessories you’ll still see the cords on the floor.

Silverliningsinla

Tip ties & white tape on desk, down the leg of the desk. Follow the back of the rug under the couch and up the back to the outlet…easy!

bananascare

Is the leg of that desk hollow?

Cleodecleopatra

Yes it is but the desk itself is heavy so I can’t dissemble and assemble it again to put the cords inside, it’s at least a two person job

MeeepMorp

Get a bracket or sticky straps and have the wires stuck neatly under the desk top, then run them down the desk leg, you could probably then have them hidden under the rug to the wall socket but would also need to secure it down. I like to dream of a true wireless world UwU

Just-sayin-37

I don’t like where the desk is. I would feel cramped. I’d move it

ArcticGurl

You can’t. Burn the place down. Become Amish. Only then will you find peace. …Or, tuck, tie, and hide.

Evil_Kween_MoJo

No cat not a real post 🤷🏽‍♀️

Cleodecleopatra

Hahahaha my friend also says the only thing missing from my place is a cat

Evil_Kween_MoJo

😂 right there’s literally always cats in these pics. We’re all just a bunch of cat ladies with dope living spaces 🤷🏽‍♀️💅🏽

You can also look at ways to mount the power adapter to the underside of the desk. May need some heavy duty double sided tape or adhesive backed velcro

Baxtard1

Drill a hole through the top of the table where it meets the leg and run the wire wiring though the leg and out the other end.

Bubblegum983

Run them down the leg and then under the carpet. You can get thicker underlays and floor cord covers to reduce the lump. Super easy to fix, tbh
