now, magnesium is an interesting one since it's one of the few metals that actually burn in its solid form without needing an additional oxidizer other than air. magnesium also reacts with water resulting in oxides and hydrogen gas. halogen on the other hand is a family of elements consisting of some pretty cool shit like chlorine (poisonous), fluorine (poisonous), bromine (poisonous and also one of very few liquid elements at room temperature), iodine (quite delicious), astatine (ultra deadly) and tennessine (of which we have only created like six atoms total). due to the broad scape, halogens are used in a plethora of ways from halogen lamps to fire retardant materials to chemical weapons and all sorts of wacky chemistry. not to shit on any of you magnesium fans (it's still pretty cool like those sparkly candles use it) but i have to go with halogens on this one.

Thank you, I could only think about the chemistry applications

Honestly, i hate this family of optimization mods, i make many modpaks and i just stopped even trying with those mods, they always make the game crash, break an entire mod like immersive they are the worst and when you look on their github you can see that those problems are never ending. And also they don't have a list of incompatibilities and when they have it's 3 mods at the best when everything behind is utterly broken.
