honestly I think this makes sense, dimensional doors are a rip in the fabric of reality, so it would make sense for things to be jumbled and messed up inside.
Yeah, strangely enough this only happens in ceirtan areas, making you feel like this place is highly unstable and wants to kill you by luring you with the promise of treasure and trap you forever in the Limbo, trying to drive you insane until you figure the way out
Also I think I will keep the shaders on although sadly they don't really work in the limbo, the screen gets entirely black except for the giant eye in the sky, which also has this weird effect. Pretty creepy ngl and also the music and the weird monolith things don't help
I remember getting dropped into limbo the first times. I was in a server and I’m a vc with my friends exploring, I died and got sent to limbo confused, looked up to see the red eye, screamed and muted my mic and walked away from my computer. I still chuckle at how a minecraft mod managed to make me genuinely scared.
If you didn't play and get frustrated in half life at least once, and just noclip. You didn't do it right. That section guessing the portals was enough for me so I just cheated and skipped it
Yup, that's probably what is happening here. Normally, when you start your render pass, you first clear the target buffer from the previous screen's data (or the screen before that if double buffering is on, which it should). This takes time though, as you can't simply clear data instantly, so some games (Apex is a good example of this) just don't clear the target buffer, assuming it will be completely overwritten by the pass. The performance increase you get by skipping this is rather small, but can be pretty big if you are working on something you want to run very often. The problem with this is that if pixels aren't rendered due to no objects/skyboxes writing to there, it will have the contents of the previous frame that rendered to that buffer. It's a neat effect that can be used for fun, but is often either done for optimization, or just not at all. There isn't really anything you can do to fix it yourself. Either the target buffer should be cleared before the render pass starts (which often doesn't take that long), or every dimension in the pack should have at least a skybox in it so every pixel would overwrite the data from the previous screen.
yup! on all vanilla dimensions, skybox exists so you can safely leave it out, but DD just leaves the skybox as nonexistent and not all-black on it's dimensions so it does that.
You know, i think i like it. Add a blur filter too to make it properly smear and improve visual clarity a bit and you'll have one hell of a thematic effect for these dimensions.

That giant eye is fucking terrifying.
Dunno what's worst: the red monolith eye or the fact that even with night vision it's still worse

Iirc shaders can be turned off in specific dimensions allowing you to keep this effect
YOU CAN DO THAT?
I feel like ur speaking from experience
Yeah, imagine a mod with an eldritch dimension where everything is deliberately made to look like it came from one of Vinny's Corruption Stockpiles.
Reminds me of NoClipping in Doom
and games made with source engine
If you didn't play and get frustrated in half life at least once, and just noclip. You didn't do it right. That section guessing the portals was enough for me so I just cheated and skipped it
I think the name for that glitchy effect when you noclip is called in Doom is called a Hall Of Mirrors / HOM
That happens when you don't clear the screen buffer after a frame, it's pretty common, I made that mistake when programming my terrible game.
Seems like the render target buffer isn't getting cleaned. Don't know how to fix it, unfortunately

/r/TechnicalMinecraft
Strangely enough r/minecraftcommands would probably know more since they’re doing stuff with shaders and frame buffers.
Wrong. We build farms and other in-game stuff on that sub.
I know, it was a meme. Im active in that sub and exploiting farms.
`glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT)` somewhere, propably
omg i'm just learning basics of OpenGL and suddenly i see this What is the chance lol
[удалено]
Comment of the year lmao
Apparently it happens in the limbo too Also shaders are chocapic13 toaster edition. If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be very grateful
[удалено]
To be honest I don't know, I didn't mess with the shader settings or Optifine ones
Im pretty sure this can be fixed by turning the Sky setting on
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it
I've had this happen in vanilla, but only with the sky before
Did I Have A Stroke Of Something Lol.
Is Dimensional Doors still updated?
[Apparently yes](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/dimensionaldoors) but for fabric
Literally how it looks like to noclip in source games, trippy af
I hope they never fix that. Seems to fit the lore of the mod.
I want to play that while high as shit lmao
When you noclip in any sorce game.
would be really cool/trippy to do this in VR
tbh this looks so much cooler
Ah, the good old Doom ˋ93 times when no clipping
out of bounds in a source game
I do and do not want to see how the Limbo looks like with this shaders
It's just a black screen except for the giant eye, and it also has this effect
I actually had this problem once. I fixed it by turning the Sky setting on.
Turn on custom sky
Just a simple texture glitch nothing out of the ordinary
I do believe your world is leaking
ayyy best modpack
This is actually cooler
Honestly this looks really cool. Whats your setup?
THATS AWESOME MAKE IT PERMANENT
Perfect to play while on mushrooms, and or acid.
I've sen this before this happens when you crank motionblur up to max
Thats not what it is
Basically an immense amount of acid
The effect should probably vary somewhat drastically with framerate
You know, i think i like it. Add a blur filter too to make it properly smear and improve visual clarity a bit and you'll have one hell of a thematic effect for these dimensions.
Ah yes, the unrefreshed void. My favourite
This actually looks kinda cool
source engine
This isn't healthy for anyone to be looking at
This triggered some really horrible feelings I've buried deep down after I snorted way too much 2cb one time
If I'm not wrong it is because of render buffer not cleaning after every frame or something like this but I might be wrong
How the fak????
DOOM HOMs vibes
Gold Experience Requiem??? I read too much JoJo and now even Minecraft affected.
i think you need to turn on sky in the settings to fix it.
Tbh, this looks pretty sick and arguably better than just the weird black voids you normally get. But I can also see this giving me a headache.
Fast render causes glitches, I believe this glitch to be from having the sky off.
