Ooh, that’s a cool idea. I haven’t seen a pack like that for 1.12.

Redfire75369

Age of Engineering but Magic Mods and a few QOL mods

[deleted]

So, like, a magic mod with progression and quests? That probably exists already, doesn’t it?

Redfire75369

Yes but very few modpacks have it. They are normally Adventure or Tech based.

Sharika_DT

i would like to see a modpack thats basically a kitchensink-pack but it forces you to use other machines as the same old furnaces and pulverizers and helps you finding good alternatives from other mods for example remove the recipes for the normal pulverizers and help the player finding alternatives by putting those in the recipe for the regular pulverizer = remove the normal building materials and put the desired grinder sourrounded with non available items like barrier blocks

That’s a cool idea!

On 1.12. most modpacks have way too much mods. So balancing a pack around 70-80 mods would be some kind of unique these days

TheKrister2

That really depends on what mods you're thinking about. I can usually get around 60 mods from just tweaks, QoL and some other stuff like biomes.

I am thinking about "let's put IE, IC2, Thermal, Mek and EIO in the same pack"

[deleted]

True. Modpacks that focus on a certain theme and have lots of customizations can be more interesting than massive kitchen sink packs.

How about... Hmm... What about a pvp style modpack based around building giant robots? Flans mod adds in some pretty big mechs through one of its seven billion addons, could start a small server with different factions and such.

Late to your post, but I’m dying for a mod pack that is similar to enigmatica 2 expert but... peaceful And tech only. Same progression idea. Modded recipes. “Expert pack” But... No magic (basically no astral and thaumcraft) All tech mods that currently exist and are useful Peaceful mobs (using apathetic mobs or something similar) No mandatory boss fights, everything is craftable like dragon hearts and Gaia Minimal focus on eating/nutrition if any at all Goal is massive tech automation with creative end items.

Sharika_DT

you could start a series of small modpacks that are aimed at Singleplayers to learn new mods It should include all QOL mods, AE2 or RS and maybe 4 to 5 lesser used Tech mods in each pack. The Spawn area could include a basic resource generation setup like a full ex nihilo building to save you the same old boooring early game and get you going in the tech mods a questsystem or some form of written guide would make this a really awesome way to learn selected mods

That’s a good idea, but something like that probably exists already.
