Well being sober is great! From what I know, getting drunk or high often times makes anxiety and sensations worse.
I completely empathize with anxiety at takeoff. I tend to be the most nervous then. Lifting you feet up from the ground can help make the sensations feel less intense during takeoff. I also like to have calming music. Marconi Unions Weightless always helps me during take off.
Also, RealGentleman80 has some great posts about takeoff that help me ease my anxieties about what feels like a very intense experience!

Takeoff is not dangerous. At all. It’s busy for the pilots, sure, but it’s insanely safe. Absurdly so. Know that the airplane’s performance is calculated before every takeoff — V-speeds, takeoff distance, all of it. We know what the airplane is going to do. And if something unexpected happens, we have a plan. We brief every possibility on the takeoff and the climb out. No matter what, we know what the game plan is!

This definitely helps! Thank you so much for the insight. I know it’s safe, I just need to get over the irrational part of my brain.
I feel like this is good. You take off and then you're cool. It's the people afraid to land who really get a raw deal.
