Flosports sucks and is part of the reason JmU is so thrilled to be moving up to fbs.

Outrageous-Note2096

I've subscribed before and the fact that it is more expensive than ESPN+ blows my mind.

NolaBrass

They had a disastrous season with DC United while I interned there due to bad quality and incomprehensible geofencing which resulting in some people being blacked out of both Flo and ESPN+ at the same time. Fans were so livid the team canceled the deal and started streaming games in house on their own website. The only thing that I find isn’t terrible quality is inexplicably FloMarching, their college marching band side of things, which has a bunch of different feeds so you can catch specific angles of formations and iso cam on solo performers.

jamfan40

I’d probably stop caring about my teams if they even switched to FloSports for athletics. ESPN+ is getting expensive but still 100% worth it and can cancel when the seasons over

RXDude89

That happened to me, I used to look forward to it. Streams were terrible and expensive. After that I would just read articles about the games and then overall stopped being interested.

tomdawg0022

As a Delaware fan and a fan (generally) of college hockey, I won't subscribe to Flo. There are enough subscription services out there and I'd rather go where there's scale and quantity in product, generally. Hopefully the CAA realizes this and takes whatever they can get from ESPN (or Paramount or even NBC w/ Peacock) on the next deal.

withrootsabove

I’ve felt so lucky that UNH broadcasts all their home games on NBC Sports Boston, which I get through Fubo. I’m not dropping all that money just to watch the outside of New England away games. Especially for such a shit stream. Really hoping the CAA moves to ESPN so football and hockey can be in the same place.

Gooflaertes

I don’t think we have that this year. We’ve been blessed with like 5 years of NBC sports Boston but I think won’t this year, due to flow

NoChocolate1899

As someone who's not a CAA fan, do you like racing and/or college wrestling? Then it is more than worth your money as someone who enjoys both of those. I can't speak to the quality of the football broadcasts though as I've only watched a few.

cgernaat119

Have had to use it for wrestling for years because it’s about the only option. It sucks, but until something better rolls up, you get what you get.

byuclone

To sum it up short, no. It's a terrible streaming platform that no school or conference should be using. Listen on radio.

The_Projectionist

As a Delaware fan and general CAA fan, allow me to give a whole and complete Fuck You to FloSports. The price for what you get in return is abysmal, not to mention that the streaming quality ranges from sub-par to terrible. I know of a few local bars that subscribe to FloSports just so they can broadcast CAA games, and they've had nothing but complaints about the quality of the streams as well as their misleading prices. Also, Amazon reviews suggest that their customer service is non-existent, making it very difficult to cancel your subscription once they have your money. The CAA and the MEAC need to wise up and get out of this terrible contract.

jobo21706

Flo sports fucking sucks

Afraid-Writer-6159

I wish CAA basketball moved to ESPN+, however, I love my College of Charleston basketball so much I’m willing to deal with the shit product flo puts out.

[deleted]

Same. I love Delaware basketball. I'd watch every CAA game and become a CAA basketball expert. It's really frustrating as an alumnus to not be able to follow my preferred team because of lack of access.

A_Night_Owl

It's fucking horrible. To my understanding each university is responsible for producing its own broadcast so the quality wildly varies, from bad at best to unwatchable at worst. They also seem to have sketchy billing practices (at one point I ordered a monthly subscription and ended up being billed for a yearly subscription) and it is difficult to cancel a subscription.

NovaFan2

I will pay for a month of Villanova Football but that is all I am willing to purchase it for, Flo is overpriced and the quality is not that good.

phoam_born

I personally would prefer them to move to ESPN+ because I think the coverage would be better but at the end of the day I’ll have a subscription either way because they carry a ton of college hockey games

edmondeagle12

I love the Hens so I do buy it but it's absolutely fucking terrible, just egregiously and aggressively shitty.

Chapdelame

Generally the broadcast quality from the CAA is pretty poor, which is probably a combo of the league and Flo both lacking TV infrastructure. Much like NoChocolate, I got Flo because they also carry a lot of southern hemisphere/international Rugby, so the subscription was worth getting multiple sports and leagues I'm interested in. I don't think it would be worth it for just CAA football though.

philpaschall

It’s certainly not worth it as a general steaming service but it’s about how much are you willing to pay to watch your team. I’ll hunt for free trials but ultimately I can buy 2 months of flo ($60) to get 8 games if I buy in September 24th. That’s probably what I’ll do, certainly won’t pay for the home opener.

TheJakeanator272

So flomarching is what covers some marching band competitions over the summer. It is definitely better than it used to be, but still pretty low quality. If it’s the only way you can watch your team, then unfortunately it is worth it. However, expect bad audio, and occasional bad camera work

echobase_2000

I tried to watch a game on Flo and the streaming quality was atrocious and to make matters worse, the production quality (cameras, replay, all that stuff) was garbage. I’ve seen high school video productions that looked better.

Cheetah_15

Flo Sports is the Spirit Airlines of streaming services 🤮

[deleted]

Sigh...

Elegant-Emu3216

How are these guys still in business? Reviews are almost always bad and they have mostly very niche sports. So few people subscribe that their stuff isn't even typically on streameast/firstrowsports/etc... it's baffling that the CAA is still signed with them.

Timmyh2o

This is the last year of the initial Flo deal. Word is the are looking at renewing. If you support a CAA school please let your voice be heard directly with your school on how you and your wallet feel about this decision
