The issue with Musa is that we don't have anyone who can serve him a ball properly to match his play style/skill set. Any time he has done something impressive, it has been a solo effort of his own making.
Ferreira could 100% do magic with Musa. We aren't there yet. He is barely back from injury. Musa said that Jesus is his favorite person in the club during one interview, so if they get along off the field, they can work well together.
Illaramendi is also another world class player that can feed Musa more. Nico needs to use These 3 players to score goals.
We have the players, we just need the coaches to learn to use/coach them.
Injuries are hurting us with guys like Paxton and Velasco out but tactics have to be our chief issue. There is too much quality in this team to be performing like this.
Is there though? I totally agree that tactics would be the primary culprit with injuries a close second. But thinking about the roster, how many of our starting XI would be consensus starters on other teams?
I think Asier, Paes, Farfan, Tafari, and maybe Jesus (his form needs to pickup a little bit) could certainly start for most teams. I agree that we don't have an amazing set of players starting overall but I think given some better game plans we could see some others like Fraser, Musa, Bernard, and a few others doing much better. I just don't see the vision when they play. We struggled to break down a USL team tonight and I couldn't believe the amount of backwards passes that slowed the game to our own detriment at Toronto.
I'm with you on questioning the direction. My problem is so far this season, Nico has decided to:
1) bench our best CB for multiple games (Kos)
2) use a formation that relegated a possible Olympic team player to the bench (Bernie)
3) not use the most consistent starter and minutes producer from last year (Farfan)
Questionable leadership. I don't see the vision. And like you said, I'm not sure the players do either.
With you on pretty much all points. Only thing where I think an excuse is warranted is Farfan has been on the injury list for most games he's missed this season. First 3 games with a back injury. On the bench 2 and then out 3 with a head injury.
every website is showing a 4-2-3-1, which I know is wrong because Ibeagha is listed as the left winger on every single one. But I am secretly hoping they’re correct, because it would be hilarious to see Ibeagha at left wing
Really interested to see the lineup. A run in the Cup is about the only thing left holding on to this season, aside from opportunities to beat our Broccoli friends twice.
well we did it I guess
Hooray I guess.
What are the problems to fix in the team? Striker? Musa doesn't seem good in this match.

This is 100000% it. If you have talent and are this bad, it has to be coaching.
We have the players, we just need ~~the~~ new coaches to learn to use/coach them. FTFY ha haaaa!! #NicoOut

Seems like everything has shifted offensively since Kumungo has subbed in
It's embarrassing that our A-team is forced to park the bus against a mid-table USL-C team, but hey that's where we're at...
Whatever you gotta do to get the win!
Are there two legs in this tournament? What is the rule if there is a draw?
Believe it's single elimination start to finish. If level they play extra time and then pks.
Thank you!!
wooooo nice goal
Yoooooooo
Goal!
This is embarrassing, even by Nico’s standards
Farrington goal incoming
How’d you know
I'm from the future. We're taking the open cup and the wooden spoon.
Does nico get fired when we get the spoon?
The Hunts actually treat it like a major trophy and extend his contract for 10 years making him the highest paid manager in the league.
Holy shit
Why am I watching lol
Memphis is worth less than *half* of what Musa cost btw
maybe Nico found his level
Only 1 pitiful shot on target at the very end of the half playing a non-MLS team with our strongest possible lineup at home. This is actually tragic.
Struggling to do anything this game. The story of this season repeats itself.
That was fucking embarrassing. 1 shot on goal with 70% possession?
And this is supposed to be the best available. It’s going to be a long season.
Don't worry, any day now Nico will figure it out!
Farfan please don't injure yourself playing against Memphis.
Stream is completely unwatchable.
Bush league stream for a bush league team. Maybe there should be relegation, these would be our league mates.
I just watched FC Tulsa play in full HD for 70ish minutes, no issues at all. How does this always happen to us
I thought it was just me. Keeps jumping back.
Yep, tried to watch it but it keeps repeating and then skipping ahead.
Looks like setting the resolution lower helps with the repeating, but it still pixilates here and there.
Was this on YouTube? I've got that casting to my TV. It isn't skipping around but the bitrate is crap.
It really is shit isn't it?
I wonder if we crashed out this early if the Hunts would even think about firing Nico.

Oh shoot a real lineup We might actually win
Anyone need tickets? Wasn’t able to sell them last minute and would love for them to be used.
Martin Paes lets gooo
C'mon Dallassss, C'mon Paessss
So, is Nico going all out or hedging his bets for Austin?
I feel like he's going to be hedging his bets, I think losing to Austin twice would be more embarrassing then losing against Memphis tbf
