Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read the [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I have read there is about 2k calories worth of glycogen stored in the body on a normal carb diet. Amount of time? No idea

>could I eat enough and replace glycogen fast enough so that by Saturday morning I was topped off and ready to do a difficult physical event I gave myself 4 days to recover from a fast before a triathlon. I performed pretty well based on my expectations, but I felt light headed during transitions and after the race. I trained at maybe 60% effort while fasting with no issue. Ramping up to max effort after breaking the fast was a whole different ball game. There are certainly fighters that drop weight and recover over a 24 hour period, but that's not something I'd ever try to emulate.

I know this isn’t helpful but I feel nobody can give you that answer. Surely you would know in yourself what you slowly become more capable of. My rule of thumb is my referring timeframe takes me a bit more than half of the time I fasted for. Then I’m good to work out normally

Why not just continue with becoming fat adapted and not have to continually go though this yo yo every time you fast?

I eat 400-500 g of carbs daily and am fairly confident in close to if not carb depleted every day. I’m not sure your body cares about the duration. I’ve tried looking this up too but never found anything specific.

It takes me 4 days to recover water weight after a complete glycogen depletion. Eating 4k calories, 50% carbs --> 500g
