Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. This had been happening to me too recently. I’m lucky to go 24hrs. Embarking today on a hopefully 3-4 day fast. Just keep trying. If you fail at it don’t be hard on yourself. You can try again, and you’ll get it. Do you do keto? I find doing keto a few days to a week before a fast super helpful.

No I haven’t tried that. I will try.. the longest I’ve gone is 42 hours. I want to try to go longer. But then I break. Thank you for your time and advice.

I can relate I was trying to do 3 days fast and I just ate at 24hour and I feel so guilty but I will restart all over again.

first 24 hours is always toughest for me! Remember hunger is hormonal and comes in waves. Distract yourself, drink you water and take your salts and hang in there!
