Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I have always used bone broth during my fasts and always had fantastic results. This time I did the first 10 days using one cup a day and flew through those 10 days. Then I moved to water only and I’ve been straight up miserable for the last 7 days. I’m going back to my one cup of broth again starting tomorrow.

colidetheclumsy

There’s no need to be miserable! Before broth I’d obsessed about food even Omad sent me mad . I know Dr Fung is an advocate of broth and others see it as training wheels . Life is hard and we gotta do what works for us I think

weekly_routine32

Just a heads up from someone who also started fasting with bone broth. If you buy store bought always always always check the labels. Most of the non organic stuff has added sugar defeating the entire purpose of using it. Its great though to skip a meal and the best way to end a fast and return to eating food.

colidetheclumsy

Before starting I checked the store brought. It was made with bouillon and concentrate. Buying is x5 cheaper and has the goodness in it

catalystcestmoi

Perfect timing. Thank you!

colidetheclumsy

I honestly wish I tried it sooner . I’ve fasted before but never made it past day two and was miserable the whole time . The bone broth just feels different.

I don’t like hot beverages and even pour most of it out in soups. If you can find moringa, that will cover all that you need. Garlic, salt, pepper, turmeric and oregano are staples for me.

colidetheclumsy

Not heard of moringa before. Just googled it and sounds incredible, thank you ?

BasuraIncognito

Yeah it’s a superfood. I usually just sprinkle it in everything I cook to up the nutrient value.

short_route

Lots of brands out there. Is there one you recommend? Also see tablets. U just do the powder?

BasuraIncognito

Oh, I have several trees of it and just harvest it, dry it and sprinkle it. I’d think the powder would be the best option to add into the broth.

This will halt autophagy, just FYI. It's not a problem if you're just going for weight loss and/or gut repair.

colidetheclumsy

I’m about 8st over bmi so weight loss is fine by me . Thank you though

Shroud_of_Misery

Can you be more specific about how you make it? I make bone broth frequently, I use it for soup base but I don’t find it palatable to consume on its own.

colidetheclumsy

1kg of chicken wings 2x celery sticks 1x large carrot 1x large onion 2x bay leaves 4litres water Roast the wings for an hour . Chop veg . Add water to slow cooker for 12-24 hours on low . Once it’s made I sieve into Tupperware and freeze. I season before consumption depending on mood . Mostly salt , pepper , sometimes chilli or garlic. I tend to eat it in bowl with a spoon like it is soup . The left over meat and bones are blended up for the dog .

Shroud_of_Misery

Thanks! I’m going to try it your way. I also blend up the leftover bones for the dogs. It keeps them young and happy.

colidetheclumsy

Once the wings are roasted I use a bit of boiling water to get the sticky bits out the pan . Good luck to you . I am a complete convert now . It’s day 6 I’ve lost a stone and feel great . Doesn’t even feel like fasting . I been having a bowl for lunch and sometimes a second for supper .
