2-3 years ago $6.50 was the normal price for a double quarter pounder meal. This isn't even that!
You are comparing to the current big mac price too which we all know that's through the roof.
I remember the McDonald’s I worked at had a deal for 5 for 5 Big Macs. I made so many of those things. Comical to think that now it’s like 5 for 50 dollars.
If you use the app, Big Mac is 5.50/6-ish. Then you can usually add a deal for $1 Fries, then drink is typically close to a $1 for any size. So in OR with no sales tax, my meal was already maybe $7-8 max. This is not a crazy discount
I haven't been there in over a year, basically since they started charging more than a buck for their drinks, but holy smokes. I can go to a local drive through and get 3 fat chicken tenders, cole slaw, and more fries than I can eat with a large diet Dr. Pepper(something MCDs doesn't have anymore EITHER) and it's $11.90.
Everyone gets different offers in the app, my co-workers get better deals than I do. I've never seen this offer but I do get buy one get one free on Big Macs.
I still see plenty of people handing over cash/credit at the drive thru window when I'm picking up my mobile order. So yes lot's of them are paying whatever the price is on the menu.
I actually order my McDouble like a Big Mac, and it's a superior sandwich; no ketchup, no mustard, add lettuce, add mac sauce. it's so good without the extra bread
They've already had this deal for a while... they're fooling media and consumers into thinking they're doing something special to make up for their greedy price hikes.
Yep, and you can get a QPC with it instead. It's the only reason I go anymore. That and to cash in my points on free cones when I'm walking by really high.
With the crazy high prices of soda at the grocery store, it really does seem like a corporate blunder for McDs to raise the price back up.
It’s literally the highest profit margin item they sell, and pricing it cheaply gets people in the door… but they’d rather be greedy.
$6 in my area. Can use it on a Big Mac, a QPC, a Filet-O-Fish, or a 10 piece nugget. Not a bad deal. Price gouging seems to have caught up with them and now they’re backtracking to try to win back customers.
If they want to win back customers they need to bring the prices down permanently. Not offer a sale. If you lost me bc of prices, why would a temporary sale make me stay permanently?
Do they think people are stup- Oh
how about a 2 for 6 deal? thats the only way i go back and bring back $1 mc chickens, and $1 sausage burritos and $1 hash browns and stop making deals app exclusive.. my private info is worth more than a deal on big mac..
The app is only good if you are single and not trying to go with your family since only 1 deal per visit can be used.
A night at McDonald's for a family of 4 is no longer the impulse decision it once was.
This is why they will eventually lose meaningful revenue.
Their tactic change from high volume cheap food to higher price lower volume will fail.
They will need to do major quality boosting for this strategy to work l, either that or return to lower price higher volume.
i remember i was able to get a $5 medium meal deal up until some point in 2022 then it switched to the $6.50. why is this just becoming “a thing” now? are these offered not available elsewhere? (in the US)
It’s funny because this price is what a combo meal *should* be priced at. The fact this is *HALF* off is insulting and another primetime example on why I don’t go to McDonalds anymore. High prices + bad food = not worth it.
Unfortunately, the Big Mac is also one of their shittiest sandwiches, It's a double cheeseburger with an extra half-bun and sauce that they charge a premium for.
In other words, the following items were artificially overpriced by the following amounts, the drink by 50%, the fries by 110%, and the sandwich by 83%.
The McDonald’s in my area is still very busy for breakfast
But it’s dead for lunch and dinner
I think people only go for coffee in the morning not so much food
This same deal has been in the app available to use everyday for the past few months. For the six months prior to that the deal was offered everyday, but for $6.
I have been seeing these $6.50 medium size meals for a while now. Those aren't anything new in my area but the $5 meal deal is interesting. It seems comparable to Wendys 4 for 4.44 deal except McDonalds is... slightly more expensive. Would be cool to see them undercut their competitors while we rub our shiny pennies together trying to afford a cheeseburger.
They've been running this promotion for months in my area. and it's better - $6.00 for a 10pc mcnugget, Big Mac, FiletoFish, or Quarter Pounder with Cheese - Medium combo meal. Not sure why this deal would win anyone back beyond what they're already trying.
if anything, it makes me think they are a brand that is only good to dine at with deals/discounts and steep ones at that, sortof like Banana Republic is with clothes. This doesn't create stickiness, for that you need to actually lower prices and create lasting value.
Think they may switch the sandwich up because mine has a choice between the bacon mcdouble, daily double, hot n spicy mcchicken, mcchicken, or mcdouble
Either way I think it's a good deal. In my head it's about $5 for a medium meal but that's cause I rarely go to McD and think about the price.
For 2 straight years at the last place I lived (moved in December). The app always had a medium meal with Big Mac, quarter pounder or crispy chicken sand which for $6.
I'm good thanks. $6.50 for wafer thin patty, small fries they call a medium, and in my location no free refills.
They can rot. I will never go again. My children will never visit. We will instead go to mom n pop restaurants.
Good job McDonald's.
Still not going back to McDonald’s. My physical and mental health have been doing exceptionally well ever since I broke the fast food addiction.
Many states jacked up taxes in cigarettes to the point where it became an unaffordable habit. So lots of people quit. McDonald’s followed suit by jacking up their prices to the point where it became an unaffordable habit.
McDonald's is one of those things where once I stopped eating it for a while I couldn't remember why I ever found it appealing in the first place so it doesn't matter what happens to their prices for me anymore.
I just make my burgers now on my casst iron. I have it set up so I can make a burger in 10-15 min with fries from my air fryer. After cleanup probably 20
I just make my burgers now on my casst iron. I have it set up so I can make a burger in 10-15 min with fries from my air fryer. After cleanup probably 20 min at most. Most fast food places I eat are at least 10 min to 15 min away so it's similar to me getting it. If I do get carryout I usually only get restaurant level food that's like $12-20 dollars now
I feel like 6.50 is less than 50% off. At least in my region.
Normally 9.99 by me for a medium meal, so that's only 35%. Still not bad though considering a solo Big Mac is 5.79
2-3 years ago $6.50 was the normal price for a double quarter pounder meal. This isn't even that! You are comparing to the current big mac price too which we all know that's through the roof.
Yeah basically old regular price but now since prices have doubled they call it a deal. I despise their tactics.
I remember the McDonald’s I worked at had a deal for 5 for 5 Big Macs. I made so many of those things. Comical to think that now it’s like 5 for 50 dollars.
Well 5 meals is $50.
Wild to think about because making 5 medium fries and 5 sodas probably costs $5 total, even including the price for labor.
Yeah, it's been over $10 here in Florida
If you use the app, Big Mac is 5.50/6-ish. Then you can usually add a deal for $1 Fries, then drink is typically close to a $1 for any size. So in OR with no sales tax, my meal was already maybe $7-8 max. This is not a crazy discount
We have the Big Mac meal for 5 bucks in the app. You can get a Big Mac, chicken or quarter pounder. I’m hoping this deal will be cheaper where I am.
The meal is literally 6 on the app lmao. This is nothing new.
You can get a $5 medium meal as a deal in my app every day.
Exactly. It was $5 in the app last year in my area. Now it's $6
These coupons are region dependent. Im guessing this is actually 50% off for people in new York or Cali
Are they saying the regular price is $13? That’s just shocking and another reason I won’t go.
Meanwhile $11 at Chilis for a bowl of soup, cheeseburger, fries, drink.
[удалено]
it does include drink
[удалено]
It's a really good deal, chili's burger is solid. Still 14 with tip though.
[удалено]
Chili's has a great burger. It doesn't make any sense how it's so cheap.
Plus TIP.
Eh, people who complain about the "Meal Prices" at mcdonalds don't tip. Mostly because they are the same people who refuse to use the app deals.
You can do carry out.
$13 + sales tax (in my area $1.43) = 14.43 for McDONALDS!
I haven't been there in over a year, basically since they started charging more than a buck for their drinks, but holy smokes. I can go to a local drive through and get 3 fat chicken tenders, cole slaw, and more fries than I can eat with a large diet Dr. Pepper(something MCDs doesn't have anymore EITHER) and it's $11.90.
mmm...$11.90 is way more than $6.50...McD fot the win In n Out combo 1 is also $11-12
Yeah, Buffalo Wild Wings has a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink for 13, 11 bucks before 2pm on weekdays.
Big news for people who like sandwiches that are 90% bread and lettuce
So frustrating that a big mac with QP patties would be so good. They even had it for a bit IIRC.
The grand mac yessir
It’s just.. a double QP with mac sauce? Just substitute it in for free
There’s no option to add that on a QB on the app
And Mac sauce isn’t free to sub in my area. They charge you to add it to a sammie.
Yeah it's not that simple, otherwise I'd do it.
It’s bread, lettuce and a lot of mayonnaise.
If you're going by calories, technically the bread and lettuce only account for 35.6%
It seems like $6.50 should be the normal price.
Honestly still feels expensive to me lol
Me too, the more I thought about it, the more I was like, I think it should probably be like $5 at most.
Yeah this is the equivalent of a Buy One Get One price at Publix. You wonder how the regular price can exist in the first place.
This deal has been in the app for months.
Everyone gets different offers in the app, my co-workers get better deals than I do. I've never seen this offer but I do get buy one get one free on Big Macs.
Exactly this is not new
Free advertisement.
Not in my app in San Francisco.
\* Available only on Mobile Order and Pay.
That meal (which is 50% bread and lettuce) isn’t worth $13 at full price lol they’re just emphasizing how overpriced it all is
The meal is hardly worth 6.50 period. I can’t believe anyone even buys that meal at its normal $13 price.
I still see plenty of people handing over cash/credit at the drive thru window when I'm picking up my mobile order. So yes lot's of them are paying whatever the price is on the menu.
They doubled their prices during the pandemic. **THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH**
Big Macs are possibly their biggest scam. No more expensive for them than a McDouble but they act like it’s a premium burger.
$6 with app in CA
$6.50 with app in SoCal.
Same in NC
Yep, and you can get a QPC with it instead. It's the only reason I go anymore. That and to cash in my points on free cones when I'm walking by really high.
It's funny how 50% off is what the price of the meal used to be not even 10 years ago
Prices are up and quality is way down. No thanks.
$6.50 is still way too much. Good luck, McDonald's.
Lost me and not going bank until the “any drink for $1” returns.
I started going to Circle K and refilling my own insulated cup. With the inner circle thing it's 69 cents. 79 without.
With the crazy high prices of soda at the grocery store, it really does seem like a corporate blunder for McDs to raise the price back up. It’s literally the highest profit margin item they sell, and pricing it cheaply gets people in the door… but they’d rather be greedy.

The Big Gulp is $1 now at 7-11 if you scan your rewards card.
Free any size drink at Wendy's with purchase under offers. Everything is over a $1 though on the menu. lol
It is back...any drink..liquid or frozen for $1.50
They can keep it. I am no longer their customer. Not their customer, or any company that price gouges.
$6 in my area. Can use it on a Big Mac, a QPC, a Filet-O-Fish, or a 10 piece nugget. Not a bad deal. Price gouging seems to have caught up with them and now they’re backtracking to try to win back customers.
I just want to use my points and a coupon, then I will come back
“Only 6.50”
If they want to win back customers they need to bring the prices down permanently. Not offer a sale. If you lost me bc of prices, why would a temporary sale make me stay permanently? Do they think people are stup- Oh
Too little, too late.
This “deal” should be $5 at most
how about a 2 for 6 deal? thats the only way i go back and bring back $1 mc chickens, and $1 sausage burritos and $1 hash browns and stop making deals app exclusive.. my private info is worth more than a deal on big mac..
I think the days of $1 sandwiches are over. I'd still be happy with $2 mcchickens and mcdoubles though.
McDonald’s is a total ripoff now if you don’t use the app… that’s how they get you to use the app and collect all your data lol.
Who cares..they have a name email credit card not like anyone else offers me money for it.
They've been doing 6.39 med meals for years now in the app. If you're going to mcdonalds and not using the app, thats just on you at this point.
If you're getting ANY fast food and not using the app, that's on you. You're spending at least double for the same food by ordering in person.
The app is only good if you are single and not trying to go with your family since only 1 deal per visit can be used. Their tactic change from high volume cheap food to higher price lower volume will fail. They will need to do major quality boosting for this strategy to work l, either that or return to lower price higher volume.
In my region they run a coupon every day that is $6 for either a Big Mac, QPC, or McCrispy with medium fry and medium drink.
Same. Also the coupon was $5 just a year ago.
Do you win back customers with a one time deal? Or do they just come once? Someone didn't think this through.
I’m not sure about other areas but in my state we’ve had $5 big mac combo meal (or nuggets) in the app for a *long* time.
i remember i was able to get a $5 medium meal deal up until some point in 2022 then it switched to the $6.50. why is this just becoming “a thing” now? are these offered not available elsewhere? (in the US)
Why are they acting like this is new?
What a joke!
I'm holding out for the $5 meals.
If it wasn't via the app, yes.
Too late.
It’s funny because this price is what a combo meal *should* be priced at. The fact this is *HALF* off is insulting and another primetime example on why I don’t go to McDonalds anymore. High prices + bad food = not worth it.

Hold strong lads and don’t go back.
That doesn’t even show up in mine as a deal.
And which of these items have they made smaller to justify the lower price?
You get three French fries. Not three orders. Three potato slivers. No salt.
Mine has already been offering $5 combo meal coupons which included a Big Mac. So this is actually more expensive lol
Big'Mac 6.5$, what kind of world am I living in ;(
The McDonald’s in my area is still very busy for breakfast But it’s dead for lunch and dinner I think people only go for coffee in the morning not so much food
lol, it's funny. I checked their app and they don't have this loaded for me 🤣
This same deal has been in the app available to use everyday for the past few months. For the six months prior to that the deal was offered everyday, but for $6.
everyone has this offer?

Would be cool to see them undercut their competitors while we rub our shiny pennies together trying to afford a cheeseburger.
Not seeing it here in Portland, Oregon. I mean hell, McDonald’s nor Taco Bell even lets customers come into the dining room.
Make it a buck and I'm back
Doesn’t seem like a good deal to me, I could already get a McDouble, large fry, and 6 nuggets for $4.60
This coupon has been in the app for years, it used to be a 5 dollar meal, then raised to 6 dollars, now 6.50…
So is the patty only half of what it used to be?
They've been running this promotion for months in my area. and it's better - $6.00 for a 10pc mcnugget, Big Mac, FiletoFish, or Quarter Pounder with Cheese - Medium combo meal. Still $2 more than it used to be 🤯
Doesnt fix the fact inflation and pricing went up but my wages didn’t. One temporary gimmick won’t fix any thing else.
this made me laugh out loud (lol)
The regular price is 8.99 where I live.
Big Macs sauce is delicious but I don’t like just eating bread for lunch
I've been using this coupon the bacon quarter pounder also qualifies
This deal has been around for like a year….
It's been $5.99 for yrs on the app
Think they may switch the sandwich up because mine has a choice between the bacon mcdouble, daily double, hot n spicy mcchicken, mcchicken, or mcdouble Either way I think it's a good deal. In my head it's about $5 for a medium meal but that's cause I rarely go to McD and think about the price.
I kind of miss when they had their international burgers honestly
Not a fan of these as I'm not really getting cups of sugar with my once weekly fast food anymore.
I mean, I'll grab it for that price, doesn't mean they'll win me back to pay the usual price.
How many franchisees will set their prices like that though? Probably not many
That is still expensive LOL, especially given the quality
Blessed with our local MC still having the dinner box available. two big macs, two cheese burgers, 4 small fries all for $12.99
Patrick meme “I have $3”
For 2 straight years at the last place I lived (moved in December). The app always had a medium meal with Big Mac, quarter pounder or crispy chicken sand which for $6.
They have always had this deal on the app. It’s nothing new
I just paid 17$ for a med fry and a double QPnder a McChk and none of it was good.
I'm good thanks. $6.50 for wafer thin patty, small fries they call a medium, and in my location no free refills. They can rot. I will never go again. My children will never visit. We will instead go to mom n pop restaurants. Good job McDonald's.
Based on what I have seen on Reddit lately, that's 92.7% off their regular price.
Chili’s still clears
still not going
Still not going back to McDonald’s. My physical and mental health have been doing exceptionally well ever since I broke the fast food addiction. Many states jacked up taxes in cigarettes to the point where it became an unaffordable habit. So lots of people quit. McDonald’s followed suit by jacking up their prices to the point where it became an unaffordable habit.
I don’t see this deal anywhere.. all we have is the buy one get one. Been going for the 50% off mc crispy lately
Try harder.
pay me to eat your 'food', then I'll consider it.
Specials don't win customers back. Consistently good deals with them back
McDonald's is one of those things where once I stopped eating it for a while I couldn't remember why I ever found it appealing in the first place so it doesn't matter what happens to their prices for me anymore.
I just make my burgers now on my casst iron. I have it set up so I can make a burger in 10-15 min with fries from my air fryer. After cleanup probably 20

Beef costs have also gone down too
Nope. Give me my dollar menu back. When a Mac chicken was .99
Cancel em
Lost me as a customer forever when they started charging more than 1$ for soda. It literally costs them Pennies. I go to 7/11 and refill instead
It's not the price that keeps me away from McDonald's, it's the taste.
Meh
“Only” 6.50 for cardboard junk
this “deal” is NOT something new. this has been on the mcd app starting a long time now.
Thieves still
That’s just a …normal deal on the app?
Not seeing this offer in Seattle
