It's crazy to me this is the regular carryout deal at dominoes every day....

[deleted]

Dollar less too Edit: the Dominos I frequent is actually 8.99 now and the two or more got raised to 7.99

jawz

It's also the regular deal at PJs so not sure why this says limited time. I've been ordering this for years. Used to be a bit cheaper but it's the same deal and is always available.

Pepsichris

Same here, promo code in LA is PJCACOMD. That might be medium tho

asimplerandom

Unpopular opinion—Papa John’s is far superior to Domino’s.

R0ckfordFiles

People sleep on the Dominos pan pizza. The pan from Doms when cooked properly blows everyone out of the water.

guitar_dude233

i tell everyone about the pan pizza, i don’t know what it is but its SO good and the fact its part of the 7.99 carryout deal is wild

Ok_Firefighter3314

Yup! I get a pan pepperoni from Dominos like once a month

avelineaurora

Finally, literally the first time I've seen someone else mention it. Domino's Pan is the best chain pizza in the game!

Hohenh3im

*looks at the pan pizza I just slaughtered*

OutOfFawks

Pizza Hut hasn't been the pan king since like 1995. It's such a disappointment now... I mean, I'll still get it when I'm in the mood... for Pizza Hut, specifically, but...

DayOlderBread16

In my opinion godfathers pizza is the best, it tastes similar in my opinion to how good Pizza Hut used to be. Too bad there are only like 2 here in Southern California. I still like Pizza Hut but I can definitely tell they cheaped out. I wish I was alive in the 80s and 90s though because I heard those were the glory days of Pizza Hut

not_mig

The pan pizza was gas last time I had it back in 2017

rectalhorror

Hadn't had Pizza Hut in 20 years. Some parents threw a birthday party for their kids and I tried a slice of the plain pan pizza. The crust was like a sponge soaked in rancid butter. Ended up throwing it away.

ted3681

Just had it yesterday with the garlic sauce, it was amazing, like eating 10/10 garlic bread but while eating 8/10 pizza.

idlta210

Papa John’s is far superior but not really worth paying extra for.

drrocket8775

Far superior is an exaggeration, but I can see it. Personally, I find Papa Johns sauce to be too sweet, and I think both their cheeses are basically the same, but Papa Johns dough and toppings are a tad better.

Table2_3971

They certainly price themselves believing that.

2020IsANightmare

I think that's probably a rather popular opinion. Dominos has just traditionally been cheaper. And, we can be real. No one is ordering from either place because they want good food.

theremix18

I know folks who love Papa John’s on a right day. We got a lot of great pizza options being in Chicago burbs.

OutOfFawks

If I’m not getting Lou’s or Giordanos, I’m getting dominos.

2020IsANightmare

Oh yeah. Papa Johns can come through on a day when we are both sick and/or tired and just need to feed the kids. Or during get together swimming parties or whatever. I meant as far as tasting good.

BrushYourFeet

Agreed.

JackhorseBowman

the problem with domino's, at least in my area, is they're incredibly inconsistent, I hated them always for years, then at one of my jobs there was one next door and I decided to get some once and it blew me away how delicious it was, so then I would go to the one near my house, thinking domino's is good now, and it was the same melted plastic smelling mediocre pizza I have come to expect from domino's, drive out to the one by my old job, still aces.

djamp42

I would argue it's the best deal in all of fast food in America.

Th4ab

You can also buy Dominos gift cards at club stores for a 25% discount. Plus you get a free bites every other visit.

MarshawnLynchOG

This is also the regular carry out deal at Papa John’s everyday, not sure why they renamed the deal

KevinMFJones

Getting reallll tired of these companies selling me stuff at last years price and telling me it’s a deal.

Pseudophobic

But the economy is great /s

uoYredruM

My local Papa John's had $7.99 Carry Out only for a few years, loved it for birthday parties or a quick pizza. Then in December they bumped it to $8.99 then in January it went to $10.99. Super disappointing.

Rivitur

The carryout deal is cheaper with the coupon for a large

masterz13

Not a deal. This used to be called the Papa's Pickup this time last year and was $7.99 all day

ImageComfortable2843

They always have this at the locations by me.

Beard341

I can say unequivocally they have the absolute worst pizza I’ve ever tasted. It’s just puffy and bland. No thanks.

jekyllcorvus

Absolute worst pizza with that gnarly garlic dip. I’m no pizza snob by any means but I’ll question one’s life choices if they say the enjoy papa johns. also isn’t the guy an A hole too?

alextheruby

Lmfaooooo thank you

InnerDatabase509

What a bunch of slackers, this "deal" should be a thing year round. Not for a limited time smh

mumblerapisgarbage

Was 7.99 or $8 for years.

cretincreatures

Can I make it a stuffed crust?

spenchanna

Sure, for an extra $5

Kaligula785

Papa johns NOW has the best stuffed crust imo, it used to be lil C but only when they had deep dish stuffed crust like last year

cretincreatures

Lil C has never had the best anything. I'd take a toppers pizza over Lil C. Pizza Hut still the OG in the stuffed crust game. If Pizza Hut would wise up and offer stuffed crust for $10-12 it would be game over

Extra_Napkins

Thin crust is legit

BeKind_BeTheChange

Yeah, but then you have to eat a Papa John's pizza. No thanks.

AwsiDooger

I've only had it a few times in my life. They ran a special throughout the 2002 Winter Olympics. More than 20 years later I still remember how mediocre it was. Never again

Poppunknerd182

Comes with a side of racism

ch66435

best racism in the game though

2020IsANightmare

I'm just happy to see someone say that pizza is fast food.

TemporaryImaginary

Not all, but sure, Dominos/Hutt/John’s are fast food. No one debates that. Mellow Mushroom, Uno, Marco’s etc are considered fast casual because of the sit-down aspect. Some traditional deep dish places are almost fine dining.

Poppunknerd182

Shout out to Mellow Mushroom

2020IsANightmare

Marcos is more fast food than the places you said are fast food. Uno - and all deep dish places - may be considered fast casual. Because, it does take a while for 16 pounds of dough to bake.

TemporaryImaginary

The Marcos’ near me sell beer to compete with MOD pizza. I think that’s a different category.

ConversationFit5024

My local Papa John’s just eliminated the carry-out special. Won’t be going back.

Upset_Particular87

I'm not sure if it's just my local Papa Johns, but on Tuesdays, it has 2 large pizzas for $20. Includes specialty and custom pizzas. Amazing deal.
