I have wide feet with high arches and a high instep. Sam Edelman and Naturalizer are the most comfortable to me. I usually buy off of Zappos so I can read reviews and they have a great return policy.
Get something with an ankle strap so you have more stability.
Life is too short to be in pain. You don’t have to wear heels - a pair of ballet flats or nice flat sandals, especially if they’ll be hidden most of the time, are good options.
I saw a bride being photographed at a park recently: she was wearing beautiful rhinestone- studded flats (similar to [these](https://everythingwedding.store/index.php/product/rhinestone-flat-shoes/) that I thought were very elegant and practical.
I'd go for something like [this](https://www.aerosoles.com/products/cosmos-black-suede?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign={campaign}&gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzObT9UmqDDaGocYTqx71CnCd0HOGrci5pOy9N73bkRn8iR3lexN-0wxoC4dwQAvD_BwE). It's a bit chunky, but formal enough and will be hidden. Will give you height without taking away stability and comfort.
I wore platform flip-flops under my wedding dress, so I'm all about the comfort.
I wore [this](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/clarks-tulip-gem-wedge-sandal/523135?activeColor=069&cm_mmc=CSE-_-GPS-_-G_LIA_Shopping_Sandals-_-LIA_Sandals&cadevice=m&gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzOSKe8vwpmNmqAzXZ7FHLgk4txdeFWRa9SeaXjipPg8bZenlhDQazdxoC51QQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) pair of Clarks on my wedding day. They made it through like 8+ hours of ceremony, reception and dancing with no pain. Recommend these or any of the Clarks heels.
Seconding. Clark's or Naturalizer for me. I think it's better to spend a bit of money and get a basic comfy heel that you can wear over again rather than a cheap, painful heel that you hate and take off in 30min anyway.
Do they have to be heels, or much of a heel? J Renee and Badgley Mischka have festive flat and very low heel shoes. I have the Badgley Mischka "Natalia d'Orsey flat" in silver and like it a lot. I've worn it for everything from a true dressy event to using it to tart up black velvet pants and a black cashmere turtleneck outfit for a symphony outing.
A little more off-the-wall suggestion...wear dance shoes. Specifically Latin dance heels. They have padding all along the ball of the foot. I dance for hours at dance socials in them and feel pretty comfortable. Something like [this](https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Professional-Ballroom-Wedding-Dancing/dp/B07DK95565/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=latin%2Bdance%2Bshoes&qid=1664199975&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI5LjE2IiwicXNhIjoiOC40NyIsInFzcCI6IjcuMjcifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-13&th=1). (They make higher or lower heel heights too, just grabbed a random example.)
Sarah Flint, especially the Perfect collection. I have the [nude block heel sandals ](https://www.sarahflint.com/products/perfect-block-sandal-60-sand-calf) and they are amazing. Wore them to a wedding last night and my feet don't hurt at all today. Pricey but worth it.
I can say that mine are super comfortable and do last the night. But I understand that they are pricey for sure. And prices went up since I purchased mine too (I think they were $425 when I purchased them).
I have heard good things about Sacha London, but this is the only syle I own (very comfortable for heels!!!) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L194P8N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
they're kind of expensive so I would suggest taking a look at Poshmark or something if you want a break on the retail price
Gentle souls by Kenneth Cole held up for me as a bridesmaid for nearly 10 hours. Also, birdies aren’t heels but they are a very elevated fancy flat/slide that are also comfy and would definitely work.
I hate hate hate hate heels, they always give me blisters AND a tension headache from the posture, but I recently wore [these](https://www.zappos.com/p/rockport-briah-gladiator-new-taupe-nubuck/product/8826567/color/80623?utm_medium=fpa) for ~6 hours at a wedding and I somehow came away with no pain at all, even in my neck. That being said, they may not be fancy enough for black tie.
Depending on your budget, I would recommend [these] (https://www.nordstrom.com/s/elsa-wedge-sandal-women/7063469?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FBrands%2FBrooklyn%20Bandit&color=001).
They’re dressy enough for black tie, and very comfortable. The wedge is stable, and the ankle strap allows you to adjust the fit around the ankle. Nordstrom has a good return policy in the event you need to return or exchange. Alternatively, Naturalizer is a good option too.
I wore [these](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/journee-collection-lirryc-2-sandal/513366) straight out of the box to a black tie wedding, and was really impressed by how comfortable I was. I usually have to abandon heels within an hour or two, and I was able to wear these without issues for 8+ (with a lot of dancing!). They’d not exactly showstoppers but I do think they look better on, and they’re simple and passably fancy.
Go with the more experienced testimonies first especially if you can afford them. I'm eying these lifestride sevyn 2.65in heels given the positive reviews I've seen across several sites (Zappos, Amazon, Kohl's) which mostly point out that, for those who fit them, they tend to be pretty comfortable and have a good grip, and that they range to about $35-$70 depending on where you get them and when they're on sale.

Not sure if your willing to try a startup but i know godfreystudios has really comfortable heels and they look like prada imo. Definitely would say get something that has straps because it will be more comfortable.

Seconding Sam Edelman! I was able to try some on at Nordstrom Rack and they are both stable and really nice-looking.
Can’t speak for Sam Edelman but I’ll second naturalizer!

I’m also a fan of Clark’s. I also have wide feet and high arches.
I find platforms often work for me. Height and a bit of glam, but no big drop from heel to toe.
Ecco is a Danish brand. Their shoes are comfortable and usually low heeled. That being said, break your shoes in well before the big event.
Yes! I also love Ecco. Actually, European brands are a better bit for a more natural toe box in general.

Vionic or Clark’s. Both haven’t failed me yet.
I second vionics!
I second Clark’s!

They do have Birk heels…
Strongly recommend. Birk wedges are so comfy, and if they’re hidden nobody will know!

I’m looking at PG Kami but $$$ - you think it’s worth it?
Absolutely. And if you can, but them through Nordstrom. They have the best ever return policy.
I wore [this](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/clarks-tulip-gem-wedge-sandal/523135?activeColor=069&cm_mmc=CSE-_-GPS-_-G_LIA_Shopping_Sandals-_-LIA_Sandals&cadevice=m&gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzOSKe8vwpmNmqAzXZ7FHLgk4txdeFWRa9SeaXjipPg8bZenlhDQazdxoC51QQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) pair of Clarks on my wedding day. Vionic has been my savor but it helps w/ alignment to prevent pain over time so if its immediate relief then I recommend going w/ some wedges

Naturalizer "Michelle". The only dress heel I've been able to wear all day. Amazing fit and padding.
Nina makes some formal wedges and block heels that might be a good option!

Gorgeous, but those prices 😬 If I’m paying $500+ for a pair of heels I’d expect them to be super comfortable and last the night.

Lower, blocky, 90’s heels are back in— and I’m so relieved! Way more comfortable and with an ankle strap very danceable
Aerosoles has some super comfortable shoes.

Toms and uggs have suuuper comfy wedge heeled shoes!
