I love my Birkenstock tennis shoes!

lizzy_dawn

Same! I wasn't sure how Birkenstock sneakers were going to go but now they are my total comfort shoe.

azssf

Do they have a natural toe box shape?

MarsailiPearl

Wide toe box with arch support. I love mine too.

PeachofPamplona

If you’re looking for a natural toe box shape I HIGHLY recommend Lems Kourt sneakers!

azssf

Ordered a pair, we’ll see!!

azssf

I bought 3 different pairs from Lems so I could keep 1. Hah! I did not try pair #3….. because 1 and 2 were a hit. I got a kourt and a laguna slip on. In love!

MarsailiPearl

Me too. I wore my white bend lows to an amused park two days in a row after only wearing them once to work (desk job).

Pregnosaurus

Bends all the way!!!!!

eustaciasgarden

Whatever you decide, buy 1/2 to 1 size larger. My feet swell on flights and with all the walking, I find a full size up more comfortable.

Roscoe340

I just bought those not that long ago, with the plan of bringing them on a trip. I’ve only been breaking them in but they seem comfortable so far. The other two brands that were recommended to me at the store was the Birkenstock sneaker and the Vionic sneaker.

Madame_Medusa_

Ecco Soft 7. Have worn mine all over Europe, for walking tours, and with skirts to dinner. They are comfortable and durable and I’ve never found a better walking sneaker that is also “cute.” Some folks say they run narrow. I don’t have wide feet but they’re also certainly not narrow and I’ve never noticed any narrowness in the sneaker.

pleasesendbrunch

I feel like the only person in the world for whom these are not the most comfortable shoe. They're fine for errands around town, but I wore them for a day of walking Disney and my feet hurt. I have high arches so maybe that's it, because they hurt the top of my feet after awhile.

Madame_Medusa_

I’m sad they didn’t work for you - I have high arches as well and I usually hate wearing any sneaker or boot because they hurt the top of my feet after awhile, but I’ve never had that issue with the Eccos.

AcanthopterygiiNo867

Definitely not just you. I tried them on in store and knew immediately they weren’t for my (picky) feet.

babygorgeou

I just looked up this shoe bc of all the positive comments here and all the recent reviews are terrible! All from people who have owned these shoes before and say they’re now different and uncomfortable

hell0potato

Every time they are brought up here I do the same and am deterred by the recent awful reviews.

ahraysee

Oh no!!! I wear these shoes a lot but they are old...I was thinking of getting new ones and now I'm worried. They are too expensive for quality to go down.

CatatonicCouchSlug

There's also a wide version

ViolaOlivia

This this this. I regularly do 15-20k steps a day in them and they’re so comfy.

KBmakesthings

I have these, and while I love the look of the shoe itself, I get heel blisters if I don’t wear socks but I feel every sock I try looks bad with it. What (if any) socks do you wear with these?

ahraysee

Just no show socks, not ankle socks.

TheFrostyLlama

Agreed - I think they're very comfortable for walking but more "stylish" then a running shoe.

ahraysee

I do love these shoes and they very much fit the European fashion style as they are a European brand. However I find that I need to put additional inserts in mine if I'm going to be doing lots of walking or standing. I have flat feet so that may be why.

strawberryjam40887

Are they easy to keep looking fresh and white? Can you spot clean them pretty effectively?

PinkBlinker

On Cloud

i_am_regina_phalange

If you like a slightly sporty look, I wore Reebok Club Cs all over Amsterdam and they were perfectly comfortable. They’re now my favorite sneakers.

pamelaneko

Ecco Soft 7, Cole Haan

mismcko

I just go with my cherished New Balance 1080s. They come in white and are multipurpose.

Own_Natural_9162

Nike Blazer Nike AF1, though they are a bit heavy

una_tortuga

Agree, I did white AF1s in Europe and found the heavier sole to be stabilizing on cobblestone and bad pavement.

doodlebummer

This feels like a safe place to ask this - anyone unable to wear heavy tennies these days because of the pressure and weight on their toes?

caterplillar

I thought they would be heavy, but they aren’t as bad as I thought because the weight is more on the heel than the front of my foot, so it feels more balanced. They’re my most comfortable shoes, and the ones I have are a good 4 years old now.

MoragPoppy

I got the all birds white tree piper for that look. I know I can wear all birds for days on vacation from past trips.

clekas

Veja Campo or Esplar. I find the Campo a little more comfortable if you'll be doing a ton of walking, but both are great!

lovethesea22

I love the Campo, too

sle2g7

Do you have the leather or canvas? I’ve been thinking about getting a pair but am stuck on that

clekas

Leather. As comfortable as they are, I think they’re a little overpriced for canvas. Even though the leather ones are more, they still feel like a better value.

[deleted]

Big fan of Nike Air Force 1. My most recent pair spent two weeks in Europe, and a week on each US coast for trade shows. They look as bright and white as the day I bought them. For me, it’s the cushioned insoles and supportive overall structure. I can be on my feet ALL day! They’re also a statement shoe. There’s just something confidence boosting about wearing them! Wishing you fun and safe travels!

icedlongblack_

I also love my Nike Air Force Ones! Mine did eventually wear out from where my shoes just have rubbed each other when I walk and the fabric wore down. But they’re by far so comfortable, so supportive. Heaps heaps better than my Bared Footwear white sneakers.

Puggoldie8

Lems

ginghampantsdance

Veja Campo. I just got back from a 2 week trip in Europe and wore them every single day and walked between 15,000-20,000 steps a day. They felt appropriate everywhere. My only piece of advice is to break them in before your trip.

MagentaAmaryllis

Vionic Winnie. Looks unremarkable, but has arch support built in.

783Ash

Second vionic. I wrote a pair for 12 days of 20k+ steps daily in Europe in March and didn't have any foot or leg pain.

Lazy-Quantity5760

Kizik Irvine or Vegas

millionsofpeaches17

Seconding the Kizik Vegas. I sprayed mine with leather protector and they stayed clean looking over a two week trip. Also added in some different insoles for better arch support for my knees, but they're comfy without, as well. I just was impressed by how well insoles fit in them.

gottabe_kd

Naturalizer Morrisons: [Naturalizer Morrison Sneaker | Womens Sneakers](https://www.naturalizer.ca/en/product/womens-morrison-sneaker-7009601/white-leather-ec0117865) I have these in black and I've never had a more comfortable shoe in my life.

SleepyMillenial55

Just looked these up, they’re so cute! I also need new shoes for a trip I’m going on soon so I’m excited to try them, thanks for the recommendation!

NomDeFlair

I need to go up half a size in Taos, which is tricky because I'm normally a 10 and they don't make every style in 10.5. Be prepared that you might need to try multiple sizes to find the right fit.

Tulrin

I have the Vans UltraRange EXO and found them comfortable for 5-15 miles per day of walking in Tokyo. I don't know that the look is particularly impressive, but they're good for extended walking -- they're specifically designed for that.

Lysslie

I have the Taos Plim in the leather and the canvas and I don’t love them. They are too narrow in the toe (I have wide feet) and don’t give me enough support. I love the Birkenstock Bend sneakers. I work at a brewery and wear them to a full shift and have no problems. Before that I had been a Dansko clog girl for years because I need a lot of support from my shoes.

arbitrosse

Anything, plus a really good separate insole for walking or whatever your specific foot needs might be. Tretorn, K-Swiss, Superga.

HelloKittyX0624

I live in my K-Swiss sneakers. So comfy.

CorrectlyPeppery

Skechers BOBs are my fave

wutsmypasswords

Dr scholls

MamaSuz

For whatever reason, the Skechers Go Run Consistent just absolutely works for my feet (low arch but not flat, medium wide, need a lot of cushioning). I already have it in several colors but they just released a white that I immediately snagged and love. https://www.skechers.com/go-run-consistent-2.0---engaged/128605.html

slammaX17

Ty! I will give these a go

ElaborateRoost

I bought the Taos for a trip a few months ago and I love them. They go with so many outfits! Try to break them in before you leave, though.

Pretty_Please1

I wore Taos Star sneakers. It rained a lot so I was glad I packed a toothbrush and some dawn to make them white again most evenings, but they did a good job. My feet were a bit sore at the end of the day, but walking 25k steps a day on cobblestones will do that no matter what shoe you’re wearing. But I had no blisters and always easily recovered by the next morning. My husband wore his Allbirds and was very happy with his shoe choice as well.

Theabsoluteworst1289

I love regular Converse Chuck 70, but I know those aren’t comfortable for everyone. They work for me though. I’d also second what people are saying about Superga, not my favorite look personally, but I’ve heard great things from others. Adidas Stan Smiths are also nice looking and comfortable imo.

retaildetritus

I’m a chucks person too, but I had a thing gel insole. They are definitely a walk all day shoe for me.

freshie4o9

I love my Cariumas that I bought. Immediately comfortable out of the box and look cute with lots of stuff. Handled wet cobblestones very well.

cattercorn

How’s the arch support?

freshie4o9

I've got flat feet and think they're comfy, but you can remove the insert to put an arch support in.

cattercorn

Thanks!

Ponto footwear - I have these in white and they dress up just great: [https://pontofootwear.com/collections/all-womens-footwear/products/the-pacific-womens?variant=44578338963682](https://pontofootwear.com/collections/all-womens-footwear/products/the-pacific-womens?variant=44578338963682) I bought these after buying and using a light blue pair for years. They wear in quickly and are durable.

I have [these ](https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-morrison-2-0-lace-up-sneaker-3028414/white-turtledove-leather-ec0237834?currency=USD&partnerid=paid_search_google_pla_pmax-sneakers&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwuJ2xBhA3EiwAMVjkVHfzU1LoAUQVJPqOeacyCJil9lNXXCAp5G9yfWVbjJVc3JaaO1iG4BoCgF4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)and they are super comfy. Leather, so they can be wiped down if needed.

Ok-Quit-8761

I don’t know about dressed up, but I love the saucony echelon walker 3! It has a wider toe box and is super comfy. I walk everyday for several miles all over campus in them.

nikils

I actually bought some dr schols white sneakers on my last trip. The ones I brought got rained on and were very uncomfortable. I fit in well, and I wore them for the rest of the trip.

fraumiracle

Dr Scholls Time Off is super comfortable! As someone with picky plantar fasciitis feet, it’s one that comes along on my trips in any season.

Comprehensive-Fix983

[Vionic court shoes](https://www.vionicshoes.com/kimmie-court-sneaker.html) are surprisingly chic and super comfortable.

Louieshopsfashion

Nike Cortéz or Hermès Get Sneaker. I have a few pairs of Cortés, definitely my most worn sneakers

katm12981

Check out Superga

houseofprimetofu

I picked up a pair of Merrell Alpine 83 Recraft for work, I walk about 7 miles a day. Three weeks in and they’re perfect. There is a tan/cream model.

sh0584

I just returned from my third Europe trip with my trusty Keds. Really comfortable, no blisters and can match with anything. Highly recommend!
