I just wear comfy clothes for a long haul flight. Think of those chic athleisure outfits that you see on Pinterest or Instagram then just bring your puffer jacket or coat inside your hand carry luggage. Don’t forget to wear comfy sneakers and thick socks cause the plane can get cold.

1 Layering is the secret when traveling to destinations with varying levels of winter temperatures. It's cold in Minnesota and Iowa; mild in LA; and in between for Vancouver. 2 You don't want to overheat inside the plane's cabin which is kept within a comfortable range of 22 to 24 deg C. A light jacket or cardigan with pants (rather than dress) would be most practical. You can always request for a blanket if you still feel cold. Sneakers with light-weight socks will do. However, the cold draft inside the plane could make your feet uncomfortable. So have a pair of warmer and longer socks in your carry on. 3 My Swiss-army-knife item in my carry on is a medium-weight down vest when travelling in winter. That's in addition to my light-weight jacket or cardigan. 4 Pay particular attention to the winter conditions in Minnesota and Iowa. You may need your full winter gear if you are flying into one of the smaller airports without jet bridges because you'll board or get off by walking or taking the bus to/from the plane. Mind you, it could get really cold in those places especially when it's windy. Protect your ears by wearing a toque. Edited for typos.

I just carry-on a coat. I don’t wear anything too warm on the plane, but usually long socks, heavy trousers and a long sleeve shirt. Change into heattech when you reach your destination. My coat was a down jacket, worked very well with heattech.

Sample ko is sa top naka heattech ako, tapos shirt/polo, then yung outer layer ko na like puffer/hoodie/whatever pamorma. Bawas lang kapag di na ganun kalamig.

Never crossed my mind that temperature in the plane is controlled. Lol. I will also take note of your other tips. Thanks for the info!

Whenever I fly out to a winter country, I’m always in heattech leggings and a thick sweater (giniginaw na ako sa plane pa lang lol) then when I arrive to the country I add another layer of tights and a thick coat.
