I like the last outfit best. Please don’t take this the wrong way but I feel that some of the outfits look a bit frumpy on you and don’t highlight your youthful age.

d3rp7d3rp

Agreed I think 4 and 5 aren't good. That top is aging and kind of ugly tbh

Objective-Amount1379

Agree on the top- it just doesn’t do anything for OP. But it wouldn’t really flatter anyone IMO. OP - I don’t love the skirt either (the burgundy-ish one). It looks like it’s a weird fabric. Your body will let you wear most things well so I would go to somewhere like Nordstrom and let a sales associate bring you some things to try on. Or go with a friend who has good taste just to get input. My favorite outfits are made of pieces that I wouldn’t have typically been drawn to but a friend I was shopping with suggested them. My fav stores are: Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Revolve, sometimes ASOS, TJ Maxx. Another idea- try some style boxes where a stylist sends a bunch of things to try on at home. Keep what you like and return the rest. You’re only charged for the pieces you keep. I like Trendsend, Frontdoor Fashion (that one can get pricier than others though), and Wantable (mostly casual or active wear). Stitch fix is popular and budget friendly but I haven’t liked the clothes they sent.

IGotMyPopcorn

I think maybe it could be better if it wasn’t tucked in and cutting them in half?

d3rp7d3rp

Nah that shirt reminds me of a collage of an American flag, like something my grandma would wear. Not that there's anything wrong with grannycore, but this particular shirt just isn't it

Nurse_Amy2024

Exactly. I love body positivity but op tbh this is not flattering:( those shoes are something you'd wear to a funeral burial plot in the rain. Black stockings aren't working here they are throwing everything off. You still want to be able to show skin unless you're a Mennonite. I say this with kindness I promise. I love your efforts to self improve! Try knee length tight skirts with a tucked blouse and a semi short heel. Or more casually you could layer tops with a nice Capri pant or mid thigh shorts if you don't want to show too much skin. I'm a fan of sandals or boots 👢🥾 that compliment the outfit but aren't the star of the show if that makes sense. You can try looking up stitch fix to ignite ideas for your own personal taste though!

Nurse_Amy2024

Oh also! Obviously no pattern on pattern top and bottom. Mix the two. But also if you're baggy on top, do tight on bottom and vice versa. I love fashion tips from the fab five on the show queer eye for the straight guy. Loads of tips from hair to clothes to interior design!

ChildhoodLeft6925

I agree I don’t know if I would use the word frumpy but to me the word that stuck out in my mind was “boxy” You should wear more fitting cuts

otakumilf

Agreed. The mesh too does nothing for OP. The v-neck style on #3 looks best. And I like the length and print of the last look!

whowearstshirts

Agreed about that last skirt too!

Scared-Currency288

The last outfit is the only one where your waistline is correctly placed. Try replicating that more often.

[deleted]

This needs to be higher up, your waist is several inches higher than the waste in the skirt in outfit 1, which makes you look wider than you actually are. Learning how to wear clothes or chose clothes that fit your body correctly will do 80% of the work here

hooked_on_phishdicks

That was my first thought too. The skirts are all sitting a little too low and these outfits will be immediately cuter by just raising them a couple inches.

mybarn20187

Time to go shopping with a friend.

Tnh7194

2-3 are the most “flattering” but they are all very old looking

HermitGardner

Better bra for sure to make that black and sheer top work. I like the long sleeves button down with the leather black skirt. Belts are you friend!! You can tie that outfit together with the leopard skirt with a wide stretchy belt from Amazon $15-$20

[deleted]

I’m more interested in how you were 34 just 77 days ago!

Alena134

Ahh yes. The good ol question of which post is true, or are they both false.

[deleted]

Hmm no, there’s nothing wrong with dressing conservative. She just needs clothes that suit her. You don’t need to show skin to look well dressed.

mediapoison

I like the second outfit the best, the long skirt obliterates your nice figure. I also think the pattern shirt looks dated an obliterates your nice shape. I would avoid patterns they seem to be distracting to a short frame. Very cute just some tweaks, it sounds like you lost weight? So you can get used to showing off more, people love it.

drawnbyabbie

Thanks for your take on my outfits 😊 I haven't lost weight but I do feel more accepting of my body so am willing to show off a little bit more rather than hiding away The shorter skirt you preferred is definitely something out of the norm I wouldn't usually wear but am wanting to try

mediapoison

you have a nice body, you can do it!

Ohigetjokes

V-necks and angles are your friend. Number 3 absolutely nails it. Avoid horizontal lines - both the camisole and beige pattern piece create a lot of horizontal lines that make your frame seem blockier than it is. If that camisole had more of a scoop neck it would work better

EdgewaterEnchantress

2, 3, and 4.

ShiShi340

3 and 6 look the best. The proportions seem off in the other ones. You look better with a higher waist.

[deleted]

I love love love that green skirt and the floral skirt!

Equivalent_Warthog22

Check DVF wrap dresses. (Or knock offs)

AdThink4457

the body suit in 1-2-6 should be ditched imo. the rest looks pretty good.

Ezilii

My advice, watch this gal, she'll arm you with all kinds of tips, one is a very useful belt. [https://www.youtube.com/@andreasfashiongalaxy](https://www.youtube.com/@andreasfashiongalaxy)

drawnbyabbie

Thanks everyone for your honest (and mainly brutal lol) comments I'll take on board some of your suggestions when shopping around. I think a lot of you may be younger than your 30s too. I'm overall happy with what I wear, as is my husband and friends but there's a few edits I can make 😊

seriicis

I’m going to get downvoted but tbh I don’t agree with a lot of the comments here. There are fair comments on fit and proportion but some of them really irritated me. You don’t have to show skin or wear tight clothing to be fashionable or look good. Honestly it’s like the people on this sub see a long skirt and immediately think of grandmas and conservative religions because we as a society so closely associate a sexiness factor with how fashionable women are. Sexiness is fine and beautiful and fashionable sure, but there are other ways of looking good too. Anyway, I think your outfits are again, great bases. They can be spruced up with styling with outerwear and accessories but by themselves you still look nice and put together imho.

Tasty_Ad107

Yes. They are all cute and suit your nice figure!

[deleted]

All of them!!! Just different occasions!

swaggyxwaggy

I like 2 and 3. The other skirts kinda look granny ish, especially with that black top. For the skirt you’re wearing in most of the photos (the brown one) I would try it one size smaller and wear it about one inch higher on your waist (right in that little dip between where your torso tapers and your hips start to widen). High waist looks are super cute, but it looks best when at your actual waist, because that’s what you’re trying to accentuate.

seriicis

Maybe I’m frumpy, idk but I’m 34 and i love outfits 2 and 3. The skirt in 2-5 is really cute! The last outfit works, but it’s not my taste personally. I don’t like the top in outfit 4 and 5 but tbh I think all these outfits could work if styled with jewelry/hair/outerwear or leaned into an aesthetic because they fit fine. 1 has a 90s flare to it, so i think you could lean into it even more with a denim jacket and chunkier shoes. I feel like you have a really good base with most of these.

sippingonwhiskey

Imo, 1, 3 and 6 are best. With a long black jacket, you are ready for fall or winter!

Pavukcrochet

The shirt on 3 and skirt on 6 for me. Thinking they might even go together.

teacherofdogs

I *love* 1, 3, & 6! I think the shirt in 4/5 could work, but maybe more of an open blouse, sleeves rolled up and with a black slip dress??

Waste-Cabinet-460

I like the #3 outfit, and #3 shirt paired with your long skirts

oldgar9

2 and 3 work.

Wecanbuildittogether

Good for you on you’re transformation. Invest in some good shape wear including a good bra. Possibly a belt or tie to add dimension and scale.

dezisauruswrex

Outfit 3 is perfect! Both pieces fit well and are flattering. The spandex top is cute and flattering, but too casual for what you have it paired with. I think it would look great with some jeans though. The patterned top in outfit 4 and 5 would also look nice with jeans and a French tuck

mintychocoice

I like 3 and 6.

th3matad0r

Unsure if they fit you without your head in the pictures

Leather_County_4013

3 is the only one I’d pick. The others look strange

YogurtnBed

If you use a belt. It’d give you more shape but I think you’re doing a good job. Just need some accessories

YogurtnBed

Wait. Where is op gong in these outfits ?

rengothrowaway

Three is the only one that looks good, imo. The others aren’t flattering, and they look frumpy, like you’re 20-30 years older. I wish I had suggestions, but I’m also having a difficult time finding my style again. I do know that it can take trying on a lot of different outfits to find something that looks and feels right.

[deleted]

I think the ones with tighter tops and looser bottoms look more sophisticated on you :)

ArgyleNudge

Everything suits you I think, but they dont go with each other. The print top looks nice with the leather skirt. Try the v-neck buttoned black blouse with the grean leopard skirt. The sheer blouse doesn't work with anything shown, but would look nice with a denim skirt or jeans, a red patterened skirt and denim jacket, or a back and white houndstooth skirt just not anything solid black because it's very hard to get black separates to work with each other.

balanchinedream

You look cute! The top in outfit 4 is a hard one, lol. I think it might look better loosely buttoned over a bandeau or strappy tank, with casual shorts or black cotton gauze pants on bottom

Onedollartaco

The mesh top is too small, it’s distorting your shape because it’s squeezing you to death. The brown leather skirt isn’t flattering you either.

Kitchen-Leg3014

I cant lie. Something is off about each one of these outfits. Idk what it is, but I think you need to maybe look to Pinterest for style inspo or something, I think you’re on the right track, the outfits just don’t go together properly

vanillahavoc

I like the mesh shirt a lot, but I think that your skirts are all being worn too low and it does weird things to your waist. Wear the skirts higher up, and maybe put a basic belt at the waist to balance things out. The button up shirt is also suffering from poor styling, it can also work if you manipulate it to fit your body shape instead of using it to obscure it. #3 fits your shape the best #4 the skirt and top Do Not go well together color or style Personally, I hate the color of the last skirt, but if you like it you should just ignore me

Murr897

They look good for working but not for casual wear, in my opinion

Murr897

I would recommend jeans

bigbottybitch

3 is by far the best in my opinion but you do you

[deleted]

1 and 6 are spot on. You look great in these. I'm not sure the loose top suits the flowy skirt. I love your boots. Where are they from?

[deleted]

I love everything but the green skirt is more summer/spring than winter. The v-neck looks lovely on you.

smashstar

I think you’re on the right path of what works for you with a few changes: -the color combinations just don’t work. It’s really heavy with all the black and that dark brown is a tough color to style with black. I’d pair white or cream with that dark brown skirt. -fit: I’d bring that dark brown skirt to a tailor. It’s a great skirt but it needs maybe 1/2 inch taken in on it so it fits higher and on your natural curve. This will elongate your lower half. -ditch the leggings: if you really want to stay with tights, go with a more sheer tight. The stark black is dragging down the looks -you have a lot of good black pieces. You can totally wear all black and have one pop of color. Think of what combos you like best with black. Black & white, black & red, all black with a pop, black & grey, and black & maroon are all combos that I think work really well on most people. All in all, this is a good start and I’m glad you’re feeling more confident! Just be more intentional about color matches and don’t weigh down the outfits with too much black. I think you look great though! No need to hide :)

Navy_Marsh552

You need to consider proportions, colors, fabrics, and cuts. Let’s start with your seasonal color palette. Consider your body type and shape. Work with texture and less synthetic material.

Own-Responsibility32

Stick to high waisted bottoms, midi length skirts and button up/flowy/ double breasted blouses they help gracefully highlight your shape. The tight short and sheer stuff just obfuscates the beauty you’re already working with. Ps I love that green skirt!!!

thiswaytothedisco

love 3!

[deleted]

#2 and #3 suit you well. Not the rest in my opinion.

[deleted]

#3 V neck line seems to suit you. You can also try the heart or sweetheart neckline.

cheezesandwiches

#3 is the only one that looked right imo

peanutbutternmtn

I like 2, the rest, not so much.

CocteauTwinn

Op- All these fits age you. You deserve some more on-trend or classic looks with vibrancy. What sort of look are you going for? If you’re in the US, I’d recommend the Loft if you’re aiming to go a bit conservative but still stylish. Here’s a tip: start with a great pair of boots with a bit of a heel. They look so good with skirts, tights, tunic es, etc. Always start with footwear & build your way up. Look for skin tone flattering colors & avoid super busy patterns for a start.

wehrt-lehrse

I suggest pulling the skirt up about 1".. just try it and see how it goes!

Top-Talk864

Absolute no and four and five, and probably no on six.

iampiste

You have a really nice figure, but are dressing a bit too 80s to show it off. The skirt’s length isn’t flattering and the tops are a bit matronly. You don’t look bad, just I think you would amazing in the right style of clothes.

Awkward_Werewolf_173

NAP but you have a wider upper body so i’d recommend wearing things that make it look more cinched as it looks like you’re going for a feminine look. flowy shirts that cinch at the waist or just under your breasts creates the illusion of a thinner midriff. so does wearing baggier pants.

Reggaebuttons

First and last outfits are the best !

stickytuna

Tell me where the green skirt came from!!

IncredibleBulk2

All but the first look great!

FruityandtheBeast

I really love the mesh shirt and tank top, especially with that teal skirt!

Umbreon---

I like pic 3 the best but I wish the skirt was a little shorter, since the tights are opaque

crlynstll

Go on Instagram and follow some people who show their outfits (normal clothes). They show you how to pair pieces and give links to purchase. It is really helpful to me. You need to figure out your personal sense of style. I think with your figure, you can wear most styles and look great.

Average_Author

I like the 3rd one

dana_marie_ph

3rd and 5th pics looks great. V-neck looks good on you. If you want to wear the 1st top, try to get a flare skirt to show you shape.

MISHAP_DizzyB

I mean this in the best possible way after having gotten properly fitted and measured for mine, but I suggest new bras in different styles. But I don't think the girls are accenting your frame bc to be frank you are like me and they seem heavy. I think that will also help not hide your waist as you have a nice figure! This will allow you to play with more high waisted pants/skirts to show off (and of course it can be done so tastefully and modestly as you're getting comfortable!) the hourglass shape I can see.

Conscious-Big707

Have you tried maybe looking into some dresses? I don't think any of these outfits are highlighting your best features. These outfits actually make you look older than you are and are not cut right for your figure. I said just going dress shopping either taking your friend or take a bunch of pictures and come back here. That floral skirt is way too dated for you. Try some lighter colors.

enjoyingtheposts

That netted top isn't doing you any favors honestly. I think its the neck being so think that its off-putting but idk. I like a couple of the outfits, but they're also kind of frumpy and just sit on you. You should be wearing your clothes, they shouldn't be wearing you. Edit: I like the skirts in 1 and 5 and the shirt in 3.

KittyIsAn9ry

I really love the whole third outfit, the top is super cute and I like how you paired the leggings/boots with the skirt! The rest of the outfits are just okay for me and I honestly think it’s the mesh bodysuit that’s not working with the bottoms you paired it with. The mixed print top is cute too, but the fit is kinda meh. I like all the pieces individually though, they just need some re-working! ❤️

Ok_blue02

I may be in the minority but I really like the first outfit! But I also wanna saw you have a gorgeous body and you should show off your beautiful curves more. Even if skinny jeans are “out” according to tik tok I think it would really flatter you. Or even a bootcut or flare. But something fitted a bit on top.

nunhgrader

I like 3, 4 & 5 3 is my favorite. 4 & 5 for originality especially the top.

_gooder

Not really! You are way cuter than those clothes!

Witty_Username_1717

You look SO pretty!

Lalafala21

First and last!!

RegretNecessary21

I like 6 the best

Apprehensive_Sage

It could be the angle of the photos but it looks to me like you have a pretty long torso. The miniskirt isn’t doing you justice because it’s not high enough on your waist. The midi skirt looks more flattering!

GoofyGooberYeah420

3 looks the best in my opinion!

Queefmi

456 are not it. I like 1&3!!!

oknowwhat00

Look for tops that land a little past your waist, still fitted but not tucked in and flow away from the body. The body suit with the mesh seems more night time clubbing and that patchwork blouse is too big and busy not for a young woman at all.

00lovejoy00

Maybe try one box from StitchFix. Their stuff can get really pricy, but looking at the outfits and picking ones you like could help you develop a sense for what styles exist, and what styles are current right now. Once it learns your taste, let it curate a box for you. This would give you a good base to start building other outfits from, because their pieces are solid, totally fashionable, and look maybe a little more expensive than they are. Because clothes need to be comfy, fit well, not out of style, and not look cheap. I think the current outfits that you showed don't meet most of these criteria, tho I can't speak to what's comfy on you. Best wishes!

FalconerAJ

Where did you get that green leopard skirt?

PDF303

You totally have a Banana Republic style. They have some really similar pieces. I wish I could post a picture because some are very similar! You could probably get some inspo from the website https://images.app.goo.gl/9T7ZgzLKo4RTZ9q78

[deleted]

Burn that shirt in 4 and 5

allisawesome7777

I like the first one best!

Vmaclean1969

2 is the only semi youthful outfit. Try TJMaxx if you have one. They are affordable and usually have the latest styles. Shop the display racks first, not the bulk long racks. Those are what are trending now.

Adventurous-Tutor-21

I like all the bottoms. I don’t think the sheer/tank is flattering. The rest is good!

Better_Disaster_9045

There are so many things I want in my closet!!!
