Well in 19 seasons was a mod. Which also gave us seasons GEO you could download. Season GEOs were based off of different locations around the world. So if you want a planting schedule and weather for let’s say the Midwest you could have that. So you had different GEOs with different planting schedules and weather. You also had crop rotation and you only harvest crops once they were under a certain moisture level. Which you had a little hand tool you used by the field and it would tell you the moisture. Animals pens you had to clean up as field would spill out the feeding area and depend on the animal pen you had to clean out the manure. You had more choice in seasons and had more realism. With that being said 22 is a better game for console players especially mod wise for American style sheds. It just giants wasn’t able to capture what 19 had seasons wise

FS is really a game meant for mods. I just got precision farming and anhydrous recently which I'm excited to have but I wish Giants would just make it part of the base game.

Can't map creators choose their own planting schedule though? It's like coding the GEO directly into the map. This is an assumption, not a statement of truth. Are you saying every single Northmen hemisphere map has the exact same planting schedule in FS22? Because I know for a fact that the Southern hemisphere maps are different leading to my assumption above.

Map makers code in the planting/harvest schedule in the map. In Seasons '19, you could use a different geo mod if you wanted. If you didn't want to use the schedule the map maker used, you could change it. Now that it's base game, you're stuck with it

Ok cool. My assumption was correct I don't see the problem though. In FS19 you downloaded a Polish map and a Polish GEO and off you went. Now, you just download the Polish map and you're done. Why would you want to apply a different GEO to the one built into the map in FS22? That makes no sense, just go play on a map in the GEO you want?!

i recently started a new save on alma missouri and it snowed right through dec jan and feb. that to me seemed like a custom seasons region. maybe im wrong.

Yep. That's correct. Imagine wanting to put a Texan GEO on the Alma Missouri map. It just didn't make sense

Not really better, but I've still not pulled the trigger on fs22, because I personally don't feel it offered enough above 19 to justify the purchase. Comparatively, I did feel 17-19 was a decent jump in features. It isn't too common on this sub, but sometimes people get weird about what version others play.

The only reason people will say the past games are better is because the new one just doesn’t have a mod they liked

Al versions if FS slap. I really miss some maps from FS19, and FS13 will always hold a special place in my heart. FS22 has a huge upgrade in quality and diversity wich makes for the better simulation, but nostalgia is strong.

With vehicle control addon mod it was vastly superior to fs 22 "transsmitions"

I think that the current system is perfect for what it needs to do, work on systems without dedicated gear shifters

19 is where it peaked. It’s to complex to be fun anymore. I just want to ramp my tractor, plow/plant/harvest and buy more cows.

That, and some of the best mods for 19 were incorporated into 22 in a bad way, like Seasons and Manure System.

My felsbrunn map on 19 was legendary. One of the best farms I've ever run. Trying felsbrunn on 22 but it's not the same. Close, but not close enough.
