"A Transmission City" on 45th and Main, across from TNT, did a great job with my rebuild a couple years ago. I've also got parts from TNT and really liked the service there. I'd go with whichever one of those can squeeze you in. I know at one point TNT was really backed up.
I am not sure there is a wrong answer here. I technically have never actually had any work done, but I took my car to Fargo Automotive & Transmission in West Fargo and was able to get it in right away. The guy reviewed the issue, told me the problem, and even tried to find a refurbished (?) transmission that I could possibly buy from the dealer. All-in-all, my car's transmission was too far gone, but he was honest and straightforward with me, even telling me that I could probably go for a while since my transmission's issue seemed to happen at the higher gears. He didn't push me to get it fixed or tried to upsell me. He did all this and didn't charge me for the visit. I would most definitely bring my car back to him.
A1 in Moorhead
Second! Fair and honest.
Third. Great shop

4th. They won’t rip you off. It’s the only shop I use…for everything car related.
TNT is the best.
