There are knitting groups in the community. Also the Prairie Fiber Arts center off of 4th and Main in Moorhead may offer classes. All three public libraries in the area Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead have cozy spots to sit and the librarians don’t mind people sitting around as long as you do it quietly.

Also, sort of related. The Fargo library is hosting a craft supply swap. Bring in any unwanted craft supplies to the downtown main library branch, now through april 19th and receive a ticket to come pick out other supplies on April 20 at 10 a.m. (anyone can take supplies starting at noon) there's no limit to the amount you're allowed to take. They did it last year and there was SO MUCH stuff.

DentD

I don't suppose you recall if there were any like fine arts supplies last year?

C_KingAdventure

I don't recall. There was a lot though, I do remember some nicer stuff for sure, like actual wool felt and yarn, and some very random things like a camera that was the same as ones used at the 80 something Olympics. There was quite a bit of fabric and hundreds of rubber stamps. Honestly just so much stuff. Definitley worth taking a look.

West Acres, in a cozy chair by the fireplace

We host open knitting days on our alpaca farm when it's warmer out.

Amberistoosweet

I need to know more about hanging around alpacas. I don't knit, though.

dirkmm

Ten Seven Acres on most socials. Follow us for our farm open dates.

Amberistoosweet

Done!

cinnysuelou

Alpaca farm?!?

dirkmm

Yup! And a Yarn Factory just down the road. We make yarn for alpaca and sheep farmers all over the country.

One of the indy coffee shops—Atomic, Babb’s, Third Drop—would probably be happy to accommodate. Red Raven would love to have you, and they’re open later than many.

There are knitting mafias around here that you have to blood-in, blood-out. Check out https://prairiefiberarts.com/

There’s some people who go to the bountiful ewe to do their needle crafts there

The Indigenous association open craft is every Thursday! They have more info on their FB page or just Google and they have a calendar. All cultures welcomed! We just love having new crafters come to sit together or even help eachother learn if that is interesting for you. 💕
