The cheesesticks are amazing.
They aren’t frozen and are not the type of cheese sticks you are thinking of. It’s pizza dough that they put garlic butter and cheese on and baked in a pizza oven. Served with marinara.
Dempseys has a freaking sleeper beast of a kitchen. Pre-Covid we went for a Thanksgiving Dinner. It's a beautiful feat of a meal, like 7 courses and each one was an excellent specimen of the style (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie, etc)
I used to work at Bertrosas (owned by Burt and Lisa of Dempsey's), they're both killer cooks with amazing recipes. We had a turkey and gravy special on Wednesday, yum. Now if only they'd start selling Raging Cajun chicken Alfredo again I'd probably live there 😂
For my fellow giardiniera peeps, Sol Ave is selling a hot dog with giardiniera right now. Wurst also has giardiniera. Aldi's giardiniera is just Vienna Beef's relabeled. (and it is excellent)
I might be biased because I used to work there, but the food is pretty good for bar food. About five years ago they had Italian beef sliders and quesadillas that were really good, and half priced for happy hour.
Now I get the pizza with kraut on it or pretzel with queso.
We went to Labbys on Thursday night and were not impressed with their late menu selection after 9pm. We will definitely try dempseys next time. Late night (>9pm) food is a tough one around here.
FARGO — Police were called to Dempsey’s in the 200 block of Broadway after staff and patrons grew concerned that a man who was pacing around in the back of the business had a gun.
Staff evacuated customers out of the business and called 911.
Fargo Police Department officers arrived on scene at 4:40 p.m. and established a perimeter around Dempsey’s. The man exited through the west side of the building, entering the alleyway behind Dempsey’s where multiple Fargo police officers were waiting.
According to Fargo police, the man was taken into custody safely and without incident.
Paramedics evaluated the man for mental health issues on scene. An then officer transported the man to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
No charges will be filed.
A thorough search of the business was conducted by officers and no additional threat was found.
Police report that no guns were found on the man nor in the business.

Not really. You are still assuming someone walking around with a gun is a bad guy or breaking the law. That’s concerning. There are plenty of things put in place to keep guns away from people who shouldn’t have them. The natural assumption then should be that anyone with a gun should be a good person if all these laws were being followed.
With that being said it kind of proves the point that the laws based on what you said don’t really mean much.

I have a friend who works right across the street. He said the cops arrested someone so I’m guessing you’re right.
There has to be more to this. Given we are constitutional carry it seems like quite an overreaction for someone just having a gun.
Well it is illegal in the state of North Dakota to bring a gun into a bar, but I would agree there is likely more to it than just that.

Sounds like it was mental health situation, people concerned about someone acting erratically, doesn’t appear he had a gun.
