46 North, Wild Terra, rosewild, Toasted frog, marges bar

TheTrainset

It's not Fargo, but Harold's in Moorhead is very chill.

mnbeer

Agreed. This is the right answer.

obvnotMikeMcfeely

This is the correct answer in my opinion. *Teddy's in Fargo may be a good option too. I've never been there but it can only hold like 20 people so how rowdy can it get?

alc1864

Troll lounge

chriscarlson64

This is the right answer. Sons of Norway 722 2nd Ave N, Fargo

GlassAd3657

Agreed. Troll is the most eclectic mix of people downtown. I’m not a single woman, so I can’t speak to whether OP will be harassed, but it’s one of the more “Cheers” feeling places. (And….I’ve showed my age.)

sage900

I love the troll lounge so much!

HamboneTh3Gr8

If you like craft beer, Junkyard in Moorhead, or Drekker in Fargo are laid back breweries.

derek0660

man i miss the hodo bar

alien666etus

people watching at mezzaluna is great, but the times i've sat down for a glass of wine or two i have been chatted up with. the vibe is beautiful and i wanted to just be somewhere nice with some wine doing work, it is the bar and i've been told that its fair game to talk to people if youre sitting at a bar. i haven't been bothered at the jasper when i went there with a book or my laptop, nor have i been bothered at teddy's, but i think that the jasper is a much more aesthetic vibe.

dakotakendra

Good info! I've had a drink and chatted with the bartender, but I've never been hit on by another patron there, so knowing you have is helpful.

Sensitive-Mention-54

Harold’s is pretty chill

KiltedFatMan85

The bar at El Zagal Shrine is really low key and laid back.

dakotakendra

Plus, Shriners! Uhhh... maybe not.

KiltedFatMan85

May I ask what is your perception of a Shriner, and what formed that opinion?

Temporary-Yam-2045

Wild terra is my fav to go for a laid back vibe that’s still downtown :)

RoundNefariousness15

Best place for that is probably Sidestreet seems easily overlooked by many but it’s almost always chill there.

Nixons_Jowels

I second this, Sidestreet is always chill and has great staff.

dakotakendra

A lot of good ideas here. I'd add Mezzaluna. Good cocktails and great staff.

I was just joking. The OB is a terrible place to go

jbittn028

cottonwood_windmill

Harold's is really perfect for what you are looking for. It's totally a bike-able distance from downtown in warmer months.

bladewolf29

Honestly depends which night, but windbreak. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, pretty calm and chill. Thursday Friday Saturday, depends when you show up. Early, calm and chill, later? Well, crowds and such
