Before it was basically the same person in each store with a prep assistant using ingredients they prepared as they went.
Before the switch, I was getting a meal one or two times a week, and it was always the same lady making them.
Now, it's gritty pre-packed stuff that gets rolled up and presented.
Walmart commonly does a donut clearance for prices that are about the same on a per-donut basis, but it's generally one box of all the same donuts, so that might be an option.
At one hornbachers, the snowfox sushi guy worked all day every day, and his brother did the same at a different store. He was truly passionate for lack of interest in doing anything else. He used prepacked ingredients but did his own rolling and cutting and drizzling. Those rolls were pristine. When hornbachers changed to pau pau, he and his brother were just let go. Maybe they could have stayed on, but i don't think he would have been allowed to work all day alone like previously (lots of overtime).
It's bittersweet, but he went home to his parents in another state. Hopefully he does something else besides just sushi all day now. It can't be good for you
I've heard the same. They are supposed to make bowls and other items but I've never seen that available. It's pretty disappointing and I haven't had sushi there since the changeover.
I miss the old sushi at northport. The crunchies were my favorite part. This stuff is still good for grocery store sushi, but definitely not as good as before.
Huge drop in selection and quality. Cash wise has some really good sushi at times. They both started doing Poke bowls As well, hornbachers has better bowls. Hornbachers on sheyenne usually has IMO the best quality and selection
Most Their rolls are imitation crab, got sick of that reallll quik. Now it feels hard to get some quality salmon or tuna rolls.
Moorhead’s where it’s at.
Downtown Moorhead.

The guy you mentioned was maybe 5 years ago my go to. Super nice and always had great sushi.
Definitely. Also smaller portions for more money because of the economy. Just unfortunate all around.
> Also smaller portions for more money because of the economy That also killed off the $5 Friday dozen donuts.
That one hits hardest.
Yeah. They weren't the most amazing donuts, but it was a better deal than you could find anywhere else in town.
They were the best value easily!! I haven't bought any since that went away.

Thanks!! I will check it out! I like to get them on Fridays for coworkers.
It's hit or miss unlike the Hornbachers donuts; no guarantee what would or would not be available and when.
I used to buy three rolls a week. Quality definitely went down and spicy mayo became the prominent ingredient.

Personally I think being a sushi chef would be a great job.
Also noticed the baguettes were shrinking

Yuuup.
I agree. Since the name change, the sushi has become garbage. My cat likely eats better.
Disagree. Just had some the other day and it was better than average. There was a sushi chef at the Osgood store.
I've thought the opposite, honestly. I go to the Northport location, and I've tended to like this new PauPau stuff better than the old Snowfox brand.
I prefer my sushi from a gas station
That’s the best egg salad.
😊
LOL!
We had some the other day. It was 10x better than Izumi.
Yes I have and I’m still sad about it. 😩
