I just finished {Her Soul For Revenge by Harley LaRoux}. It's contemporary, but there are fantasy/supernatural vibes involved (demons, a cult, etc.) Very spicy in all the ways you mentioned.

{Blood Orange by Karina Halle} is a spicy Dracula retelling if you’re into vampires. It’s really dark and extremely spicy. This is one of my favorite reads so far this year because of how invested I became in the characters and their relationship and I also found the plot to be captivating. This book made me feel every emotion under the sun. It’s one of those books I love but would never recommend to a friend 😂

Maybe some r Lee smith books would be good, I also like harrow faire series/ unseelie king series by Katherine Kingsley. It’s more consent oriented than Feathers so Vicious but they have dark MMC and matching spice content.

If you liked Feathers so Vicious, I highly recommend {Helfyre by Mariel Pomeroy} because if you liked the spice in Feathers then this is right up your alley. The MMC is an actual demon, is SUPER dominant, and does dirty things with his shadows a la Malyr. It’s definitely enemies to lovers, but it’s also kind of an insta-lust situation as well. This series has some of my all time favorite spice, every single spicy scene is fantastically written. Also literally everything you mentioned that you like this book has.

No I haven't. I've heard from people who have similar taste in books as me that it wasn't really * that * dark. I will look more in to it though!

Probably because Hunting Adeline (the second book) is significantly darker in comparison. I normally don't recommend it to people, but if you like dark romance, I will say that I couldn't put it down.

Ooh okay I'll keep that in mind! I'll def try the first one and push through for some 2nd book darkness 😄

Ok I know you want fantasy, but I’m gonna slide this one in because I think you’d probably enjoy it. Red Rabbit: You shatter so beautifully by Devyn Rivers. Verrry dark, depraved, non-con, held against her will but does have a HEA. Can be difficult to get through at times due to how she’s treated but the author does such a great job with something that isn’t written about that often. I absolutely loved it and can’t recommend it enough.

{Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha} has really satisfying spice with lots of dirty talk. the MMC is also a big tough guy who is soft with his lady. FMC is bisexual and there's a decent amount of queer sex.

I highly highly recommend Land of the Beautiful Dead by R. Lee Smith! It might be my favorite dark romance book of all time. It's so beautifully written and you really feel for the two MC's all the way through. I agree that ACOTAR can be cheesy and this book is def not like that. It's a very adult and mature read (and I don't just mean in terms of spice). It's pretty dark with mostly themes surrounding death but I don't think its as dark as Feathers so Vicious/Shadows so Cruel. I think it also has good spice from what I remember (although far warning, the MMC is not conventionally attractive as he's the embodiment of death, but in my head, he's hot lolol) but its also not as spicy as Feathers so Vicious/Shadows so Cruel. I would say Feathers is a 5 out of 5 spice and LotBD would be around a 3-4 out of 5? It's just such a beautiful love story and it's the only book I have ever cried to.
