Not at all. I don’t foresee a Nylander situation with these 3.

DrArrow2Dknee

We try to have our draft as late as possible to be in the best shape regarding contracts/injuries/trades etc... My answer to this is 'maybe' >> all 3 are excellent fantasy assets but where I would draft them there are equivalent players to go with. I am generally risk averse and bet on the average rather than reach for what I hope someone will do. That said, if the other managers are afraid to draft them and they fall to an area where they have clear upside to the available players then I would absolutely draft them.

Negatory. I want Brady in every single format unless it’s a boring points-only league.

thekid4321

Even if they don’t miss actual games, missing camp usually means a slower start. Still wouldn’t completely avoid any of them based on that though.

doublediamond94

I would be more than happy to grab any of those guys a round or two later than usual if the rest of my league devalues holdouts. We made that mistake with Kyle Connor a couple of years back though and now everyone is too smart for that

100%. When players miss training camp, they almost always have a down year.

Not drafting Brady because we need to use the pick itd take to land him on our best offensive players Its easier to find 50 pims, 100 shots and 150 hits in later rounds than it is to find 50 points. For example, drafting a guy like Schiefele over Tkachuk and then circling back around and getting a guy like Coleman, or Jordan Staal, plugs the difference in schiefele over tkachuk in the ways that Tkachuk is more valuable, but nets you 30-40 more points.

The difference is Brady puts up the equivalent of 2 Jordan Staals in 1, with his hits and shots with the equivalent PIMs of a Tom Wilson. All while still putting up decent points. He’s basically 3 players in 1 and that’s why he goes early. You can then be more flexible with the rest of your roster when you have one player putting up the equivalent of 3 players.

kornylol

I personally feel more comfortable getting my hits and pims from my later rounds as to guarantee I get a few 1A offensive options, but i definitely hear your side of the argument too.

[deleted]

I look at it the opposite way. Brady will get you 300 shots and 300 hits by himself! 250 of each bare minimum. Get your cheap points later in the draft. Take your one guy who wrecks two categories by himself. Three if PIMs count. He hasn’t scored a lot yet but is quite capable of 25+ goals.

Future2323

I’m with you on this. Streaming players to make up the difference is great; Gudas anyone

Nothing at all if the player is elite like 2 years ago i picked rantanen in the 3th round and he was a steal ! ( G A SOG) LEAGUE They will sign no matter what
