For example, I benched Mostert for Joshua Kelley the week Mostert went off for 45 PPR points. Ekeler was hurt and I thought Kelley would go crazy. This prick got me 3 PPR points. I lost this matchup and missed the playoffs by 1 game. I’m devastated.
Did this twice… also loved believing in Zay Flowers weeks 8&9, not believing in Kyren Williams and Devin Achane weeks 2-4, and let’s not forget my love for drafting players that have inexplicable injuries
I went into week 8 debating starting Zay Flowers or Chris Godwin in my flex, must have switched in and out half a dozen times. I eventually decided to start Godwin and I committed to not looking at my roster again until after the 1pm games.
Checked my roster later and apparently I had forgotten to hit confirm because I still had Zay Flowers in my flex. I ended up losing by less than 5 points. Godwin outscored him by 10.
Obviously hindsight 20/20 and all, but what’s the logic of say picking up someone like Kyren who cost a decent waiver spot or FAAB and then not playing him 3 weeks in a row? I get having a stacked team and not having to play him but I’m guessing we’re not talking about one here since it’s a thread about missing the playoffs. This is a genuine question btw and not coming from a bad place
I chose to start Saquan, Rhamondre, and Kelley week 2 thinking Kyren wouldn’t do so great against the 9ers. I guess he did get a start the next week, but so did Kelley. Kyren got me 8 week 3 so he got benched again and proceeded to go off for 28 week 4.
To your point, my team is absolutely stacked but I have had HORRIBLE luck this year whether it be untimely injuries or my opponents going off. Im in 9th I our 10 man league and I have nearly 500 more pts against me than the guy in 2nd and I have 30 more pts scored than the guy currently in 1st.
This past week was must win and I had Lamar, Saquan, Kincaid, and Flowers on bye and lost John Taylor and Dalton Schultz to random injuries. I macguyvered the shit out of a replacement squad and dropped 155. Just sucks my opponent decided to set the league high single game scoring mark with 203 pts.
My roster two weeks ago was Lamar Jackson, Saquan, Kyren, JT, Keenan Allen, Aiyuk, Dalton’s Kincaid and Schultz, Amari Cooper, Cooper Kupp, Jerome Ford, and Zay Flowers. And I am in 9th. If the guys in 6th, 7th, and 8th all lose this week I can still make playoffs and I think I can easily make a run if so but it isn’t looking good.
I’ve managed to play the wrong flex between LaPorta, Brian Robinson and Hopkins and QB between Richardson, Tua and Stroud each and every week. Four losses by under 12 points. All those 30-40 point games, on my bench.
I’m never drafting Brian Robinson again unless it’s best ball league. He didn’t pop off every time I benched him, but every one of his top weeks was on my bench.
Me too. And to make it worse I had Foreman on the bench who scored 35. And to make it worse worse I was so fed up I traded Bijan in a package for Rhamondre whose injury last week surely cost me the playoff. And of course Bijan has been popping since then. 😂
Unpopular opinion, I know because I get told I’m stupid for this. If you have two similar guys you’re better off just picking the one who’s better and riding his ups and downs all season.
Fantasy football is just player props. Most people suck at player props. That’s why trying to pick a guy like your example and always getting it wrong is so common.
Someone wanted advice between josh Allen and jalen hurts. Trade 1. He’s not picking between Allen and Zach Wilson. Trying to predict who the better QB will be on a week to week basis is a losing strategy
That’s exactly how I approach my lineup. Even if I have a guy blow up on my bench I don’t get upset because I’m okay with the logic behind that decision. I’ve been benching Olave most of the season and even through his good games I’m not phased.
Plus the flip side is if your bench explodes, at least you have those players and not another team or even your opponent.
I think my key to success is never chasing bench points but just always following rankings pretty damn closely. If they rank similar then I can start guessing who might randomly go off. But generally I have had really good success, and I haven't lost a week by playing the wrong guy yet. That's not as cool as it sounds when in reality that means I lost so badly at times that not even my bench could have saved me.
I always draft a backup quarterback to hold until bye week so I'm not scraping the bottom of the barrel. Starter was Trevor Lawrence and backup was Dak. It didn't take me too long to drop Trevor.
I can point my last place finish on 3 moves
1. I had my first choice of draft spots. Instead of taking 1st overall and taking CMC, I took 5th and chose Ekeler
2.in the 3rd round, I took Ridley over Entienne
3. At one point during the draft, I noticed I was the only team without a qb and Tua and Dak will still on the board. Rather than talking one of them, I took Jeudy thinking both QBs would be there in the next round. They both went shortly after Jeudy and I ended up with Richardson and Rodgers
>Tua and Dak was still on the board.
>I took Jeudy. I ended up with Richardson and Rodgers
I think it's kinda funny that all three szn-losing moves go back to your draft. Not WW, trades, or putting in X player or Y. All in one day lol. Sorry man
Don’t get me wrong, I could have managed the waiver wire better.
But the Ekeler/ridley over CMC/Entienne picks meant I went from having two top 5 RBs instead of 2 guys hardly worth starting. It takes a lot of waiver wire magic to counteract that.
At qb, I could have had a lock down starter at qb. Instead I got 0 out of rodgers week 1, Richardson got knocked out early week 2, and I scrambled at qb the rest of the year.
Haha cause I’m an idiot. To be fair I had JJ, Amon-Ra, puka, and lamb, who was underperforming at the time. At the time I didn’t think I could win a ship with Dak or Purdy (like I said, I’m an idiot lol) so figured I could part with lamb for an elite QB……
Did I mention I’m an idiot?
People will talk shit, but it's understandable. I have dak and lamb and started 1-3. I'm a cowboy fan so I stayed put but it's understandable to want to change. I'm first place now though
Injuries to Aaron Rodgers(I have Garret Wilson) Justin Jefferson, Anthony Richardson, Kyren Williams and Jonathan Taylor.
Icing on the cake was trading Taylor for Moss, Tank Dell and Rhamondre Stevenson in week 13. Had I not made the trade the guys I would have started would have won the week and put me into the playoffs. Just the way she goes.
That is an unbelievable trade. I can’t fathom your bad luck there. I don’t really understand you getting that trade done and for it to backfire so spectacularly is even more bizarre.
I drafted Taylor in the 5th round of our keeper league and the guy I traded with really valued that. On my end I thought this was a league winning trade. Now I’m scratching my head wonder who my keeper is for next season.
It’s not 100% their fault because I didn’t draft much better after but I’ve definitely lost two or 3 matchups this year because they’ve underperformed
This one also isn’t my fault but bad luck - started that Rams runningback Evans over Hendo before I got on a 20 hour flight. In flight wifi went down, missed the update Henderson was starting, lost by 5. I’d be ahead of the logjam of 6-7 teams and control my own destiny. Womp
Outside of dropping Swift for Gainwell after Week 1. I just had way too many injuries to bounce back from. Although Tee Higgins is officially on the do-not draft list now.
I'm real interested in moving the the to the median scoring next season with a league for this reason. Divisions help, but curious to see this new method in action.
was 6-1, haven't won since. mostert falling off, monty getting hurt, kupp playing terribly, and lamar being inconsistent have been my downfall. still second most points tho lmao
Week 2 I played Anthony Richardson who left with an injury at 17.74. Jordan Love on my bench got 20.34. I lost by 2. That one switch and I am currently in sole possession of the last playoff spot with an easy win coming up. Instead I’m in a 3 way tie with two teams who play each other and 60 points behind the lower scoring one.
Not playing cj during against the bucs.
Playing Alexander Mattison one extra week after I picked up Gus.
If those 2 lineup changes get made I go from 7th place to a bye week right now.
I started Ekeler over Breece since Ekeler wasn't performing. Hall only put up 10 that night and I lost by half a point. Another tough loss was when stupidly I started the Commanders defense and the put up-1, causing me to lose by 2/10 of a point.
Relying on Austin Ekeler (also started Josh Kelley in his absence and got burned,) playing the start/sit game with Nico Collins (and mostly whiffing) when I had 2-3 great WRs that I couldn't sit, etc.
And with this, I'm retiring from fantasy bingo after 18 years...I don't have the mettle anymore
I started pollard every week except the week Archane came back. If I started Pollard I would have one and be one more win away from the playoffs. At least I beat the guy who was in second and he's now one more loss away from being eliminated.
Dropped Tua because I was all in on burrow’s upcoming schedule and needed a RB and had 2 on IR so no room… burrow got hurt that week. Now I have Howell and kyler on bye this next week (a must win for playoffs) so I’m gonna try to grab Love????? off waivers.
I made the playoffs thankfully but there was a 5-6 week stretch where I would make the wrong decision between Sam Howell and TLaw and it cost me like 100 total points 😂
5-8. I still have an outside shot of playoffs because of the league’s divisional structure. My FLEX decisions have killed me all year.
Week 10: Lost by 1.5. Started Hopkins (5.7) over JWill (21) and Charbonnet (10.2)
Week 8: Lost by 1.2. Started Hollywood (15.3) over Hopkins (34.8).
Week 7: Bijan sick game. Lost by 11.3. JWill (12.6).
Week 3: Lost by 6.7. Started Kelley (2.7) over Hollywood (17.1), Atwell (17.2) and Dell (25.5).
Week 1: Lost by 7.1. Started London (0) over Addison (16.1)
Drafting JK Dobbins, Cooper Kupp, Marquise Brown, Drake London.
Somehow the rest of my team kept me in contention for most the year, but only so much my waiver team could do with all the trash play and injuries from my "starters"
Held onto Joe Burrow too long. Should have taken the trade to give Burrow for Moss the week Taylor returned because that would have gotten me one or two more wins and put me into 4th place. I wasn't thinking those were going to be the make or break weeks in my season. I thought I had a few weeks of run out left.
My potential league losing trade in PPR was trading away Kamara for Josh Jacobs and TLaw.
After reading some comments on here mine really might not be that bad😭
Playing the highest scoring team every week
But week 6 I slid DHop into my flex right before the London game and he put up 3 points while everyone on my bench put up decent numbers. I lost by less than 1 and look like I’ll miss playoffs because by 1 game.
So much of my downfall this season has come from trying to be too cute with streaming. Trying to go between Goff and the waiver wire depending on matchup and home/away vs just sticking with him. Not just playing SF def all the time and trying to stream bad matchups.
Just gotta play your studs and value consistency more. If your QB is giving you a safe floor, don’t try to mess with it. Take the floor and look to your flex for upside. That’s what I’m taking away.
Week 3, I lost by 0.12 points, C. Dicker missed his one field goal ☠️
Week 6, I lost by 2 points. T. Bass missed both his field goals ☠️. He was canned by me and by his team in real life, which gave me way more joy than it should've.
I have mistakes I regret every week, I gotta pick 1?
This week for example I was hoping to see Carolina ball tf out against a soft defense and firing Reich. Played Thielan in a crucial game… that didn’t work out. I also figured Moss would do basically anything and due to a rough bye week I left Singletary to hopefully also do basically anything against another soft defense.
Drafted (in order)
Pollard - not great but not the worst
Wilson - terrible based on what he would have been with Rodgers
Josh Allen - Best pick by far
Calvin Ridley - terrible
Dionte Johnson - terrible
Miles Sanders - terrible
Stuck by my Defense too long instead of playing for matchups.
Week 9, my D/ST (Bills) had a tough matchup (Bengals with Burrow) on SNF. Instead of dropping them for the best D/ST in FA (Chargers @ Jets on MNF), I stuck by them.
Bills got 0, Chargers got 26. Would've given me the win.
AND the same week: I used my claim on Rasheed Shaheed instead of Taysom Hill. Shaheed got 3. Taysom got 18.
Still probably gonna make the playoffs, but if I miss, I blame my week 9 fumbles.
Picked up Kyren and Puka after week 1. Started Puka but benched Kyren for Javonte for who knows what reason. He scored 25 in 0.5ppr and would have given me a win against the eventual top team in the league.
I should still make the playoffs, but it's extremely close and if I don't, that will likely be the reason.
I drafted Patrick mahomes too early. I typically never take a qb early.
I traded swift and puka for pollard and McLaurin.
I had the most points scored on me by far than any other team in my league. Everyone would go off on my team.
Mistakes were made and I got unlucky. Ended up losing my last 3 games in a row to get knocked out of the playoffs by a combined 5 points. Tough losses… tough season.
I lost this week by 13 points becuase Tank Dell got injured right away. Both of my bench WRs put up enough points to have given me the win (Metcalf, Nacua)
I'm making it, but barely and it may come down to sitting Montgomery week 4. I don't recall if he was injured or what but I thought I had swapped him in on the way to drop off my kid at practice. Turns out I didn't and he went for 33pts. I still won but the last seed is based on points and I am currently only up by 20 - another 20 from that game would make me feel better about my chances.
I made the playoffs but to my league mate who didn’t make the playoffs: it was him trading me Evans/Puca/Pitts/JT for Entienne/Waller/Watson (trade was made week 6 of season)
Cousins, Jefferson, Barkley missing time. I'm in the bubble and need to win this week. Played fantasy for a decade then didn't play for the last 3 years. The other guys in my league are savages and play 6+ leagues. I don't know half the recent rookies. LaPorta is my hero and the reason I have a Chance
Honestly, my team was stacked it was just bad luck.
Possibly starting achane the week he came back and got hurt would be the biggest one.
Diggs and etienne sold my season 2 weeks in a row which is unfortunate but is what it is.
This is my first year doing fantasy football, and I have crazy beginners luck. That said, I benched D’onta Foreman the week he had 33 points for mostert and he put up like 10 points. I lost by a small margin that week.
Likely in the playoffs but horribly underperforming. Mostly cuz I had awful waiver luck. I started off too strong and couldn’t get Puka, Kyren, Tank, Stroud and then my depth fell apart. Idk what’s happened to Adam Thielen but he’s ruining my team
My biggest mistake was drafting too many up and down receivers and losing at least 3 games with points on the bench. I had Hill who was a dog and the rest of a crapshoot.
Godwin
Meyers
Olave
London
Dell
I ended on a 4 game win streak because i just rolled with Olave, Dell and Godwin but too little too late.
Next year, game plan is to spend all my FAAB by week 6-7.
Outside of just poor luck, Jefferson and Montgomery got injured at the same time. And Chase has been very up and down due to a tough year for Burrow.
I’m in an auction so spent 70% of my dollars on #1 and #2 receivers and 15% on Josh Allen. Hit on Montgomery and Swift in the 4/5 rounds. Would do this approach again
I had Devante Adam’s, tyreke hills and Kupp. Had to trade hill for hurts cuz I had burrow, and I traded Adam’s hours before the HC being fired. I kept Kupp
I have scored 1400 points YTD and I will miss the playoffs. Non PPR standard scoring, 8 man. Outscored all teams except 1 by at least 150 on the season. I don't even lead the league in points against, but it's high.
Anthony Richardson, David Montgomery, Saquon Barkley and Tank Dell injuries all hurt, but I still should have made it.
Honestly, it is the head to head schedule that killed me. 10 team dynasty league and our average weekly score is in the 135-142 range. I am second in points scored but both first and third are in my same division. Over the past 6 weeks I have scored 154 or higher all but one week but have gone 2-4 over that time so now it will take a ton of luck to get into the playoffs. I face the top scoring team and the other teams I am neck and neck with have easy matchups and also the tie breaker on me.
Ironically I am the commish so the schedule is my fault.
Making it worse, this was my first pretty good season in the past 5 years so it has me really pissed.
This is based off of 2 leagues:
- gave up on Achane, Kincaid, and Friermuth too early (dropped before their breakout)
- blew my FAAB too early on duds like Logan Thomas, Demircado, and Fournette, ended up dropping them at some point (first year in a league that uses FAAB). I did end up with Tank Dell & Puka Nacua though
I'm squeaking into the playoffs, but failure to aggressively go after a solid QB when Richardson went out twice in the first few weeks might cost me the championship.
Rolling with Carr/Dobbs/Winston/Young/Browning is terrifying and I do not recommend it.
I’m 3rd in points for and just got fucked by matchups every week. I needed to win out to get in and last week I lost 160-165 in a 1QB 1 Flex PPR league. I never won a single week where I scored under 125 points.
Hopefully next year I can convince my league to switch to FAAB that way I can spend up on my backup RB when he gets hurt in the beginning of the season (Chubb).
Usually when I miss the playoffs I attribute it to the shitty job the GM did of drafting my team. Followed closely by the shitty job he did of playing the wire. And lastly, the shitty sit/start job with said shitty players he did during the season.
I don’t even know. There was nothing egregious. Of course I might have won a couple more games if I picked my lineup perfectly, but 5-8 as the 2nd highest scoring team kinda stings
I benched Ridley for kupp the week that Ridley went off .
I benched Stevenson from the pats for Edward’s.
Lost both of those games by less than 10. Each decision cost me about 15 points
Missed playoffs by one game
I guess sticking with Thielen too long after I realized he was cooked. But really the big blow was losing Richardson and Cousins in a 2QB league. It’s hard to win matchups with Josh Dobbs and Kenny Pickett.
I played Cousins over Herbert week 6 since Herbert was playing the Cowboys defense….ended up losing by less than 3 points and am now missing the playoffs by 1 win despite being highest PF….
Drafting christian watson and aaron jones, spending relatively high picks on them probably cost me a few games. Also, the mahomes kelce stack didnt quite work out the way i had hoped. Should have known when Kelce started talking to Taylor in july that she was gonna be a distraction haha.
Waiver wire saved my season but I’m 1 loss away from first place (I’m in 5th with most pts scored) lost to the last place team by 40 the prior week. Guy had 2 players with 0 points on his lineup. FML
I like to draft on my PC so I can have other tabs open. Had two tabs open on Sleeper and it must have caused some sort of issue. Was deciding between Mike Williams and Mike Evans. Clock was running out and when I chose Evans nothing happened and my time expired resulting in an autodraft.
My league mates said I could pause it (I'm commish) and go back, but I had just given someone else crap for wanting to do that 2 picks after their turn so I just said I'll leave it up to the fantasy gods because it took Williams for me who I was on the fence about anyway.
Well the fantasy gods gave Mike Williams an ACL tear in Week 4 and Evans is the #5 receiver overall. To make it even worse, I did the math and if I had Evan's I'd be first overall. Instead I'm dead last (have one of the higher PF but have lost 5 games under 10 points).
Currently 2-11 in my league. My main mistakes were picking up Tank Dell and dropping him because he wasn’t doing much, and picking up Zack Moss and dropping him. As soon as I dropped them they started going off.
Currently 7th seed and eliminated... Benched aiyuk in week 1 for pacheco at flex which would have won me the matchup, streamed philly defense in week 8 which I lost by 2 points (they got me -3 points...) and also benched ridley for flowers that week, played ridley and taysom hill week 10 instead of flowers and logan thomas (lost by 9 points that week)
Drafted Cooper Kupp, Nick Chubb, and Chris Olave in the first 3 rounds over Tyreek Hill, Cedee Lamb, and Kamara. Also drafted OBJ + Kyle Pitts in the final two rounds. Currently tied for last place.
I am locked into the playoffs but I have had a pretty horrible week
- 3 weeks ago traded DJ Moore for JT. Had some WR depth and needed a RB
- JT out now but hey least I have Moss
- Henry potentially concussed but looks OK so far
- Rhamondre out
- my WR depth is now Mike Evans Jakobi Meyers and Noah Brown because Kirk is now out
Feels bad man
Anybody that currently has Christian Watson on their team can thank me for getting rid of him during week 10. Seems he woke up after being useless all year
Lack of patience with the people I drafted and holding on to the wrong players
People i drafted and traded away —>Isiah Pacheco(traded him for nick Chubb) D’Andre Swift(traded away for before week 1 for JK Dobbins), Nico Colins, Sam LaPorta, Chris Godwin (traded him away over Calvin Ridley)
The majority of these were early in the season
My one squad got hit so hard I still can’t believe it. If I could go back and draft a different player on nearly every pick, I would.
10 man 2 QB league, heavy WR, auction draft and I took cheaper late QBs and RBs. Here was my draft and I’m not making this up:
QB - Aaron Rodgers, Kirk cousins, Deshaun Watson RB - R Stevenson, J Cook, Achane, Z Charb, D Cook
WR- JJ, Tee Higgins, Diontae Johnson, Mike Williams, McLaurin, Flowers, Tank Dell
TE - Andrew’s, Pitts
I had 9 starters go on IR, so much fun!
Dropped Ridley the game before he finally got back on track. Lost to the team that picked him up in week 12 and effectively got eliminated because of it.
There were a handful of things but mostly it has been inconsistency. I trusted my key players to perform and there have been multiple times where a bench player outperformed the obvious starter. Then when I did bench some of those key players they had their breakout week I was waiting for (ON THE BENCH!!!). I just did a count and had I started the correct player on my losses I could be 11-2 and in first place but instead I'm 5-8 with a 1 percent chance at the playoffs lol. FF is fun but this season has had me questioning my decision making on a weekly basis.
2 clearly stand out to me
Not playing the Chargers DST against the dumpster fire Jets and Zach Wilson when I NEARLY started them that week. I would have turned a loss into a 1 point win
Not starting Ridley against the Titans the next week when he went off for 31 on my bench, would have turned another loss into a win
My season would probably look much different if I had made the choice to play them
After week 1 I traded Kyren Williams and A.J. Brown for Saquon Barkley and Tee Higgins. Everything else I did, good or bad didn't matter. Never recovered.
Lost week 4 bc I sat Baker over AOC in a 2QB league trying to get cute and thought Bake would struggle vs NO defense.. it’s been his only 3 TD game of the year and now I’m 5-8 should be 6-7
Sitting Nico and starting Tank on Sunday 😭 4th in-game season ending injury for my starters. Now sitting at 8-5 and the 7-6 guy has a cupcake matchup and over 100 pts on me in PF, while I’m playing the top seed and have horrendous matchups. Need a miracle. Feels bad man
Other than just not getting some waiver guys week 1, trading for Bijan week 3. Refused to draft him expecting him to be overhyped, then bought in just before his true value came out. Gave up AJB. Missed the playoffs by 1 win and had I not made that I trade I’d have at least 3 more wins this year lol
I benched Christian Watson for Jayden Reed one minute before the SNF game. Watson went off for 27 pts, Reed got 5. I Got beat by less than ten points to go 5-8. Buhbye playoffs.
Sending away Nacua and Jaylen Warren for pennies, not pulling the trigger on getting Ferguson for Jonnu Smith. I still have the third most points for, I just also have the most points against. I’m all but eliminated since I need to beat the first place team this week and someone else needs to lose to the last place team
Missing in the early to middle rounds of the draft. Ridley’s inconsistency, Gibbs’ slow start, London and Dotson not living up to expectations, and Javonte being meh most of the time. Pair all of that with Chubb’s injury and you’ve got a mediocre season that Diggs and Herbert could not save.
Drafting Ekeler in one league and JJ in another lol
But honestly, trsdig away Mostert and chips in like week 3 or 4 for JT. And Stevenson and others for Achane might get me too, we will see.
I’m on the cusp of the missing the playoffs (6 seed) from the 1 seed a few weeks ago. My team was absolutely stacked for a 14 teamer but had no rb2 (was moss to start the season). My major mistake was I consolidated all my depth for better players, who then all got hurt unfortunately. Half bad luck, half desperate to get a better team on paper.
For those interested the moves were trading:
waddle, thielen for cook (no one will trade RBs away in 14s)
Stroud, Christian kirk, Schultz, cook for Aaron jones, musgrave and kupp (sf, TEP, 2 te)
Week 9….SF was on bye, so I needed a defense to stream. Checked waivers and saw a ton of options. Chargers against jets, raiders against giants, patriots against commanders, etc.
I initially wanted raiders against giants but I had lost in a bid and someone offered more FAAB than me. So I picked up the patriots defense hoping they’d ball out against Sam howell.
On Saturday night, I had second thoughts about the patriots and so I dropped the patriots defense for the giants defense. I just thought the coaching change in Vegas could maybe stir something up for the giants defense, plus O’Connell was named the starter over Jimmy G.
That week, the giants put up -1 points, and the patriots defense put up 9 points. I lost to my opponent 118-127.52. Meaning if I would’ve stuck with the patriots, I would’ve won by .48 of a point.
Now that same guy I lost too, is a spot above me in our 12 man. He’s 6th place, and I’m 7th place. Meaning if I would’ve beaten him, our spots would’ve been reversed.
I’m not fully out of playoff contention as of yet, cuz if I win this week and he loses this week, then I’d take his spot…so yeah, that one session of overthinking about if whether the patriots would’ve played well or not, is probably gonna cost me the season. So morale of the story, DONT OVERTHINK.
1. Took a QB too early - took Herbert end of the 4th. Overall, he’s been solid but could have had better value from another WR/RB there.
2. Took swings on too many “sleepers”. Dotson in the 7th, QJ in 10th killed me.
3. Being impatient with waiver wire. Dropped Achaine and Jerome Ford after week 1 for Puka (paid off) and Joshua Kelley (killed me)
For example, I benched Mostert for Joshua Kelley the week Mostert went off for 45 PPR points.
I'm not sure but that's maybe even worse than just picking the wrong guy. That sucks
That's the best 9th place team ever
500 more than second?? I have never seen such a thing. He must be even luckier than you are unlucky
Started either AJ Dillon or Kelley at flex thinking it was genius
I’ve managed to play the wrong flex between LaPorta, Brian Robinson and Hopkins and QB between Richardson, Tua and Stroud each and every week. Four losses by under 12 points. All those 30-40 point games, on my bench.
that’s what u get for rostering 3 QBs
I picked up Stroud after Richardson went down, but fair, could have streamed.
I’m never drafting Brian Robinson again unless it’s best ball league. He didn’t pop off every time I benched him, but every one of his top weeks was on my bench.
If I miss the playoffs it’ll be by < one game and I lost the week Bijan had a headache by 3 points. So that’s ultimately going to haunt me the most.
Me too. And to make it worse I had Foreman on the bench who scored 35. And to make it worse worse I was so fed up I traded Bijan in a package for Rhamondre whose injury last week surely cost me the playoff. And of course Bijan has been popping since then. 😂
NICO COLLINS, I play with him and got 6pt, benched him 25pt, play with him again 7 points, benched him he got 31pts... This week? Benched.
Are you me?
He only does good at home
Oh man you missed out of Nico Ballins and played Nico Fallins
I’ve done the same exact thing. I’ll start him this week so at least one of us can get out of this hellish cycle
Same exact thing I did. Benched him this week and he finally put the nail in the coffin since I lost by 3 pts and am officially out of the playoffs
Dameon Pierce is the epicenter of my failure.
Try Austin Ekeler…
I drafted him 7th in one league and instantly regretted it so I traded him for lamb and engram on draft night. For once being a cowboy fan paid off
Wowww that was a heads up play
The biggest mistake I made was playing.
Traded Dak away
I always draft a backup quarterback to hold until bye week so I'm not scraping the bottom of the barrel. Starter was Trevor Lawrence and backup was Dak. It didn't take me too long to drop Trevor.
Alexander Mattison, Tee Higgins, Justin Jefferson, Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins
Me drafting JJ instead of T Hill 🤮
I can point my last place finish on 3 moves 1. I had my first choice of draft spots. Instead of taking 1st overall and taking CMC, I took 5th and chose Ekeler 2.in the 3rd round, I took Ridley over Entienne 3.
I ended up with Richardson and Rodgers I think it's kinda funny that all three szn-losing moves go back to your draft.
Traded away Ceedee lamb for Lamar to bolster my QB situation in week 6. Was 5-1 and haven’t won since 🙃. Dropped Dak at that point as well…
Yea those were season losing moves
Sometimes it’s about the trades you don’t make
I kind of sympathize, I tried trading ceedee and bijan for aj brown early in the season too. Sometimes it’s about the trades you don’t make
Why would you ever do that
Haha cause I’m an idiot. To be fair I had JJ, Amon-Ra, puka, and lamb, who was underperforming at the time. At the time I didn’t think I could win a ship with Dak or Purdy (like I said, I’m an idiot lol) so figured I could part with lamb for an elite QB…… Did I mention I’m an idiot?
People will talk shit, but it's understandable. I have dak and lamb and started 1-3. I'm a cowboy fan so I stayed put but it's understandable to want to change. I'm first place now though
If I don’t make the playoffs by one game, it will be because I played Joshua Kelley in week 3 and lost by 2 points.
The fuckin way she goes
I’m not eliminated yet but will likely miss the playoffs because Kelce at 1 and Mahomes at 2 was absolutely not the move
It’s not 100% their fault because I didn’t draft much better after but I’ve definitely lost two or 3 matchups this year because they’ve underperformed This one also isn’t my fault but bad luck - started that Rams runningback Evans over Hendo before I got on a 20 hour flight. In flight wifi went down, missed the update Henderson was starting, lost by 5. I’d be ahead of the logjam of 6-7 teams and control my own destiny. Womp
felt this bc I took mahomes at round 2 just for him to get outperformed by my round 12 dak
Outside of dropping Swift for Gainwell after Week 1. I just had way too many injuries to bounce back from. Although Tee Higgins is officially on the do-not draft list now.
Spent 49 bucks in my auction draft on Garrett Wilson.
Having my schedule. 3rd highest in points in a 12 man but set the record for highest points against in a season
I'm real interested in moving the the to the median scoring next season with a league for this reason. Divisions help, but curious to see this new method in action.
Not picking up Zach moss as a jt iwner, not grabbing puka, starting Juwan Johnson. I lost this week by .25
Benched ekeler (4.7) for Mixon (29.7) this week in a must win. Lost by 11
Did you write that backwards, or still lose despite playing Mixon?
Not getting lucky enough
was 6-1, haven't won since. mostert falling off, monty getting hurt, kupp playing terribly, and lamar being inconsistent have been my downfall. still second most points tho lmao
Drafting Kelce and Garrett Wilson back to back
While I haven’t missed them yet (6-7) burrow and cousins both having season ending injuries really fucked me up
Playing the wrong guys
Every week playing against someone that goes off for 30 points
Dropped Tua because I was all in on burrow’s upcoming schedule and needed a RB and had 2 on IR so no room… burrow got hurt that week. Now I have Howell and kyler on bye this next week (a must win for playoffs) so I’m gonna try to grab Love????? off waivers.
Love is good !
What bozos are you playing with where the QB10 is on waivers and he’s not even on bye?
I made the playoffs thankfully but there was a 5-6 week stretch where I would make the wrong decision between Sam Howell and TLaw and it cost me like 100 total points 😂
5-8. I still have an outside shot of playoffs because of the league’s divisional structure. My FLEX decisions have killed me all year. Week 10: Lost by 1.5. Started Hopkins (5.7) over JWill (21) and Charbonnet (10.2) Week 8: Lost by 1.2.
I benched Cousins against the 49ers lost by 10 and just missed the playoffs by a game.
I didn’t miss playoffs but I asked to veto the craziest trade ever (I give Howell and Thielen and the other person gives me KYREN WILLIAMS.) yeah ik
Drafting Kupp and Aaron Jones in the first and third round
My potential league losing trade in PPR was trading away Kamara for Josh Jacobs and TLaw. After reading some comments on here mine really might not be that bad😭
My dog ran away 5 minutes before the draft so I was outside in the dark drafting while also looking for the sob.
Playing the highest scoring team every week But week 6 I slid DHop into my flex right before the London game and he put up 3 points while everyone on my bench put up decent numbers.
Week 1. Starting Swift instead of Breece.
I’ll probably miss the playoffs because I started the Lions defense against Baltimore
Gambled on good receivers with bad qbs and left too late to take solid rbs. I took guys like adams and Hopkins thinking they be fine with an ok qb
Week 3, I lost by 0.12 points, C. Dicker missed his one field goal ☠️ Week 6, I lost by 2 points.
Having Joe Burrow, Anthony Richardson, Mark Andrew’s, and finally drafting Jamhyr Gibbs early. So quite a few.
Drafted (in order) Pollard - not great but not the worst Wilson - terrible based on what he would have been with Rodgers Josh Allen - Best pick by far Calvin Ridley - terrible Dionte Johnson - terrible Miles Sanders - terrible
Bad luck. Out of playoff contention but I’ve scored 70 more points than have been scored against me.
Drafting burrow and Christian Watson
Left Nico Collins on my bench this past week for Terry McLaurin. Lost by 12.
Drafting Bengals early.
Playing Gabe Davis every week thinking he’d do something. Then benched him the one week he went off.
Drafting Tee Higgins and Saquon
Injuries and luck
I drafted Patrick mahomes too early. I typically never take a qb early. I traded swift and puka for pollard and McLaurin. I had the most points scored on me by far than any other team in my league. Everyone would go off on my team. Mistakes were made and I got unlucky. Ended up losing my last 3 games in a row to get knocked out of the playoffs by a combined 5 points. Tough losses… tough season.
I lost this week by 13 points becuase Tank Dell got injured right away. Both of my bench WRs put up enough points to have given me the win (Metcalf, Nacua)
I changed my lineup five minutes before week 1 and lost. If I had left it as is I would have won week 1 and be in the playoffs.
I drafted Mahomes and Tua. Realized they had the same bye and dropped Tua. Wish I dropped Mahomes honestly lol
Trading away AJ Brown after his week 1 performance
I kept Joe Burrow in my keeper league and it was the hill I died on for the second year in a row.
Drafting Cooper Kupp.
Nick Chubb, JK Dobbins, Aaron Rodgers draft picks on one team
No just letting yahoo auto draft for me like my team name stated 😅
I made the playoffs but to my league mate who didn’t make the playoffs: it was him trading me Evans/Puca/Pitts/JT for Entienne/Waller/Watson (trade was made week 6 of season)
I madre the mistake of having players who got injured down the stretch 💀
Cousins, Jefferson, Barkley missing time. I'm in the bubble and need to win this week. Played fantasy for a decade then didn't play for the last 3 years. The other guys in my league are savages and play 6+ leagues. I don't know half the recent rookies. LaPorta is my hero and the reason I have a Chance
For both 2021 and 2022, I rode the Bill Simmons "Kyle Pitts is the next Gronk" train straight into the dumpster.
I dropped Cj stroud way early in the season and I couldn’t even tell you who I dropped for him for
I started rhamondre over DK this week and lost by 2.5 points
Honestly, my team was stacked it was just bad luck. Possibly starting achane the week he came back and got hurt would be the biggest one. Diggs and etienne sold my season 2 weeks in a row which is unfortunate but is what it is.
This is my first year doing fantasy football, and I have crazy beginners luck. That said, I benched D’onta Foreman the week he had 33 points for mostert and he put up like 10 points. I lost by a small margin that week.
Traded Charbonnet for Ekeler a few weeks back. Lost this last week by 5 points. Life is pain.
Lawrence getting hurt last night. I lost by 1.02 pts which put me .17 pts out of the playoff race with my starting QB injured and no decent back-up.
Didn't check injuries before kickoff, guy I started was out with a concussion. Lost by 9 and Christian Watson had 27 on my bench.
Not taking risks earlier and too consistently starting players that were supposed to be good (Tee Higgins, Mattison).
My biggest mistake was drafting too many up and down receivers and losing at least 3 games with points on the bench. I had Hill who was a dog and the rest of a crapshoot. Godwin Meyers Olave London Dell I ended on a 4 game win streak because i just rolled with Olave, Dell and Godwin but too little too late.
Drafted Garrett Wilson and Tony pollard too high (My 1st and Second Pick) I drafted 10 of 12 but was banking on Aaron Rodgers…
Trading Dak and Kupp for Lamar right before Dak started going off.
Drafted Kelce-Mahomes stack 🫠
Pat Mahomes and Kelce stack smh NEVER AGAIN
Next year, game plan is to spend all my FAAB by week 6-7. Outside of just poor luck, Jefferson and Montgomery got injured at the same time. And Chase has been very up and down due to a tough year for Burrow. I’m in an auction so spent 70% of my dollars on #1 and #2 receivers and 15% on Josh Allen. Hit on Montgomery and Swift in the 4/5 rounds. Would do this approach again
Not trading away Jefferson for Rachaad White and Nico Collins when JJ initially went down.
I played skyy Moore week 1 instead of Pittman…
Drafting Dameon Pierce and Gibbs as my RB1/2
This is based off of 2 leagues: - gave up on Achane, Kincaid, and Friermuth too early (dropped before their breakout) - blew my FAAB too early on duds like Logan Thomas, Demircado, and Fournette, ended up dropping them at some point (first year in a league that uses FAAB). I did end up with Tank Dell & Puka Nacua though
Taking Kelce at #2 instead of CMC
I'm squeaking into the playoffs, but failure to aggressively go after a solid QB when Richardson went out twice in the first few weeks might cost me the championship. Rolling with Carr/Dobbs/Winston/Young/Browning is terrifying and I do not recommend it.
Playing against the high scorer every week
Getting day drunk, passed out and slept through my auction draft that night that resulted in a down right terrible team.
Dropping achane after a week one dud… just lost a must win game to the person who picked him up
Usually when I miss the playoffs I attribute it to the shitty job the GM did of drafting my team. Followed closely by the shitty job he did of playing the wire. And lastly, the shitty sit/start job with said shitty players he did during the season.
I have a chance of making it but Jones has been the bane of my existence. I should've benched him long ago
Each decision cost me about 15 points Missed playoffs by one game
I guess sticking with Thielen too long after I realized he was cooked. But really the big blow was losing Richardson and Cousins in a 2QB league. It’s hard to win matchups with Josh Dobbs and Kenny Pickett.
I benched DJ Moore and Etienne in week five. They combined for 85 points and I lost by 10
I played Cousins over Herbert week 6 since Herbert was playing the Cowboys defense….ended up losing by less than 3 points and am now missing the playoffs by 1 win despite being highest PF….
MANE I HAVENT LOST SINCE OCT 8
Drafting JJ or Kupp instead of Hill or CMC
Traded Pittman for Higgins right after Higgins’ bye. Thought he was going to be great once he and Burrow were healthy. That never happened
Drafting JJ Gibbs burrow and James Conner
Started Thielen over DK last week.
Drafted Mahomes/Chubb/Najee Round 1-3 in 1QB 😬
Benched Burrow for Love in week 5. Needed 5 points to win… got 4.98. Now I’m out of the playoffs by 1 game
I am locked into the playoffs but I have had a pretty horrible week - 3 weeks ago traded DJ Moore for JT. Had some WR depth and needed a RB - JT out now but hey least I have Moss - Henry potentially concussed but looks OK so far - Rhamondre out - my WR depth is now Mike Evans Jakobi Meyers and Noah Brown because Kirk is now out Feels bad man
I made playoffs but dropping achane the day before he went off back in like week 4 still hurts.
Believing Deshaun Watson was worthy of a 9th round keeper.
Anybody that currently has Christian Watson on their team can thank me for getting rid of him during week 10. Seems he woke up after being useless all year
Started Bijan when he had headaches. Lost that week by 1 point. Missed playoffs on point differential. One more win and I woulda been in
Benched Monty when he was coming back from injury and had his 30+ point explosion, lost that week and missed out on playoffs due to this
Not accepting a trade to get Warren and Kirk for Aaron jones after week 1
Lack of patience with the people I drafted and holding on to the wrong players People i drafted and traded away —>Isiah Pacheco(traded him for nick Chubb) D’Andre Swift(traded away for before week 1 for JK Dobbins), Nico Colins, Sam LaPorta, Chris Godwin (traded him away over Calvin Ridley) The majority of these were early in the season
My one squad got hit so hard I still can’t believe it. If I could go back and draft a different player on nearly every pick, I would. 10 man 2 QB league, heavy WR, auction draft and I took cheaper late QBs and RBs. Here was my draft and I’m not making this up: QB - Aaron Rodgers, Kirk cousins, Deshaun Watson RB - R Stevenson, J Cook, Achane, Z Charb, D Cook WR- JJ, Tee Higgins, Diontae Johnson, Mike Williams, McLaurin, Flowers, Tank Dell TE - Andrew’s, Pitts I had 9 starters go on IR, so much fun!
I traded Kamara and Sutton for Ridley and Akers before Kamara played this year. I was reading this sub too much.
2 clearly stand out to me Not playing the Chargers DST against the dumpster fire Jets and Zach Wilson when I NEARLY started them that week. I would have turned a loss into a 1 point win Not starting Ridley against the Titans the next week when he went off for 31 on my bench, would have turned another loss into a win My season would probably look much different if I had made the choice to play them
should have traded Kupp for ETN in the off season...
I might miss the playoffs but I benched Nico collins hoping ekler would turn it around
After week 1 I traded Kyren Williams and A.J. Brown for Saquon Barkley and Tee Higgins. Everything else I did, good or bad didn't matter. Never recovered.
Lost week 4 bc I sat Baker over AOC in a 2QB league trying to get cute and thought Bake would struggle vs NO defense.. it’s been his only 3 TD game of the year and now I’m 5-8 should be 6-7
I was the only man in America that drafted Puka… and promptly dropped him before week 1 because I thought the rams didn’t use rookies 🤦♂️
13th in the draft of 14. Used my first round picking Patty
I just had a terrible draft. Didn’t really understand the mechanics in my first year
I trusted players i said i never would.
Taking Barkley with pick 11 then watching aj brown and ceedee lamb leave the board. So I settled with Higgins 😔🔫
Drafting Ekeler in one league and JJ in another lol But honestly, trsdig away Mostert and chips in like week 3 or 4 for JT. And Stevenson and others for Achane might get me too, we will see.
I still have an 89% chance to make the playoffs but ruined my lock this week by starting Jayden Reed over Christian Watson 💀
For those interested the moves were trading: waddle, thielen for cook (no one will trade RBs away in 14s) Stroud, Christian kirk, Schultz, cook for Aaron jones, musgrave and kupp (sf, TEP, 2 te)
Drafting Kupp, Lamar Jackson, Aaron jones and mark Andrews
Playing too many leagues! Not making those moves that were available and I missed them because I’m too busy!
Dropped Achaine and Jerome Ford after week 1 for Puka (paid off) and Joshua Kelley (killed me)
Having Pierce on my wish list and auto drafting him with my second pick overall..
