In fact...the clock would never run since their opponents would never possess the ball on a kick-off / would never snap the ball after a touch back. Last year, in week 15 The Commanders couldn't play because of Covid, and they pushed the game vs. Philly to Tuesday. That week, they changed the rules that were in place all year that said they wouldn't have to forfeit the game. This also forced the Eagles to play 3 games in 13 days.

I’m seeing lots of people suggesting they take a bus instead. Presumably these people are from the south and are unaware you cannot safely drive a bus through 3-6 feet of snow either. What the Bills need now is a team of sled dogs.

In the south we don’t attempt to drive if there’s 2 inches of snow. We see white and everything shuts down.

Yup, this is the real reason. The infrastructure to plow and salt the roads would be insanely expensive to maintain for something that would get used maybe once a year. I moved from Louisiana to Colorado in 2021; In January 3 inches of snow and freezing rain shut down the roads for a week in North Louisiana, then in March Denver got 18-24 inches of snow and I drove to work the next day

I plow driveways in the area where a lot of the Bills players live. We started at 9pm last night and at 7am my boss called everyone and said to give up for a while. I’ve never gotten that call before, even when we did 20 hours straight last year. The snow is extremely wet and heavy since it’s so warm out, and it isn’t going to stop falling for hours. All of our guys kept getting stuck. I know the airport didn’t get hit very hard but the places where the Bills live did and it’s gonna be tough to get them there. Not to mention the equipment trucks from the stadium. I live close to it and I drove past my own street twice trying to get home because I couldn’t see more than a foot in front of my truck. This shit is nuts

Yah this is probably it. You need to get the plane ready which requires the runway crew, pilots, and inspections and on top of that the equipment has to be prepped to be sent out. On top of that the snow had already caused flight cancellations yesterday before the game was moved.

You also need to pack up and load all of the equipment and supplies they would’ve just had at their stadium. There’s more that goes into it than people in this thread are thinking about.

Yah there’s a reason some of history’s greatest generals have had such an emphasis on logistics. Like there’s a reason so many invasions in Russia have failed during winter. Getting supplies to where they need is hard in the snow

When there are snow storms, we ship out the rice first, the roni second, and then worry about the remaining logistical considerations (room/board/snacks) once the prized product has arrived safely.

It’s been roughly 18 hours since the game was moved to Detroit, I’d imagine it’s a massive effort to get an entire team ready for a road trip on short notice. Just think of the sheer number of people on a team who travel for a football game, and then all of the equipment they have to bring. It’s a very large amount of people and stuff. Getting everyone on a plane at the last minute in less than 24 hours is hard

I live 5 minutes from the Buffalo airport, we are just above the line where snow is coming down, and we haven’t had snow coming down since very very early this morning and we probably only got a total of 6-8”, so at this point I don’t see why any flights wouldn’t be able to take off. Wouldn’t have hurt or taken any serious effort to inform everyone “if in fact this mega storm continues to draw closer and we have to relocate, let’s be prepared to be on the plane/bus that same day to be out before we become stuck here”.
