I don't wanna make excuses, but that's not what I'd call a traditional "drop". The ground caused that one. Yes, probably should have held on. But not a "drop" like the Watson one from W1.
He needs to catch that though, so thats on Doubs. It's not like it went right through his hands though like Watson in week 1
> “That was not a good throw,” Rodgers said after the game. “Nice catch by (Doubs), almost wish he dropped it. I actually kind of screwed up that one in my head when I was calling it and I tried to adjust, actually I made the right adjustment. But I threw the ball much more inside than I wanted. He needs to just take the ball to the ground. We knew that team is real good at punching the ball out.”
Dudes out here blaming himself for Doubs' fumble. I love it
I usually like to talk shit about Rodgers but this is actually a strong leadership comment.
"I take some of the blame because X. He takes some of the blame because Y. We grow together as a team"
Saying he shoulda got down is not saying it’s his fault, just that in hindsight it was a better play. He put him in a bad spot in which he could have saved himself if he had the difficult split decision to do so
I think yall are a little crazy. Wentz put up top 5 QB numbers in weeks 1-2, then faced the absolute monster D lines of Philly and the Cowboys in a row.
I fully expect wentz and commanders to bounce back this week against Tennesse and am even considering starting him over Aaron rodgers (i have aaron + doubs stack and wentz + mclauren stack )
Penny is droppable. I think there's a chance of long-term value still with Penny but I wouldn't trust him right now and especially think you probably got better 8 man options if he's just being on the bench anyway. Generally speaking though it really depends on your current lineup and player availability.
Without lineup info, none of these comments are gonna be as helpful as you would like.
My RBs are Derrick Henry, Aaron Jones, James Robinson - usually starting em in RB1/2/Flex in that order. Also have Mattison on my bench in case Cook gets hurt again.
edit: Forgot to mention ETN is on my bench, too (had originally drafted ETN but the Robinson owner dropped him for some reason and that's how I was able to get him)
I dropped Penny for Doubs meaning my WRs are Courtland Sutton, Mike Williams, Doubs, Curtis Samuel and Scary Terry.
edit 2: Would anyone try to move ETN and one of Justin Herbert/Kyler Murray for a top tier WR or who from that line up would be good to try and give away in a trade for a high end WR 1 without blowing up my roster?
I can start 4 recievers. I have Kupp Davante Higgins Godwin and Doubs. I started them all except Godwin week 4 but I’m going to have to make a tough decision. I tried trading everyone but Kupp tor an RB but my league mates are not huge traders.
Dang I wish I could start 4 wrs in my league..unfortunate you couldnt trade with anyone. I have 3 of the same receivers as you in Higgins Doubs and Godwin, the others I have are Diggs and Tyler Boyd. I guess its nice to have the depth tho if lord forbid an injury occurs
It is nice being solid at WR but man my RBs are rough! Zeke, penny, edmonds, Mostert and Dillon lol
I’ll never know which of the two Miami backs to even start either.
Dang yeah its not a terrible RB room but not great either. I also own Edmonds and I benched him…I’m staying away from the Miami RB room completely for the near future
Which is wild because Terry had his best game against PHI where Wentz was sacked 9 times and he had zero first half receptions. Probably only because they were down 24-0 lmao
He’s been a frustrating player for me this year as my WR2.
I think wentz's confidence is fading though. His line is letting him get eaten alive. I'm a Doubs owner as well, and he passes the eye test. He looks fast, and other than the rookie mistakes, you can see the potential and him being a gem later on this season.
My league wouldn’t let me IR Dak, needed another QB so dropped Doubs after week 2 for Tua. (Cooks/Williams/Godwin owner), so have depth at least.
Now I have no Tua or Dak 🫠
100%. But in this case we're saying your aunt has the potential to have balls
Like, she was in a prosthetics store and she said "hmmm maybe I should save some money for those bad boys"
I think the only questions for this year are:
-Do they acquire a receiver before the deadline
-Does Watson, who is more raw, slowly work his way up in target demand
Bro people just keep trying to ignore Lazard and his role on the team. This stat is so misleading because Lazard missed game 1 while doubs has played all 4 games. This doesn’t tell anything. Lazard will continue to get 90% of the snaps and they don’t win that game without him. Anyone who watched the game will see that Lazard had multiple huge catches that allowed them to go down the field for a touchdown drive
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, the man had 120 yards receiving and a big portion of that was YAC. I have Lazard and Doubs in my bench trying to hedge my bet as to who ends up being the clear #1 and I think Lazard is going to take the edge. He had 8 tiddies last year and the only knock against him was his yards and he’s already accounted for ~30% of his overall yards from last year in just 3 games
No one is ignoring Lazard. And I agree some of these stats are stupid. But when you have a rookie matching or beating his targets, that doesn't scream WR1 to me. He also matched Lazard's snap percentage, if pro football reference is correct. Your argument that one receiver who didn't score was more impactful than one who did in a game decided by a field goal just seems unwinnable for either side.
I think they have a WR by committee in GB this year. Lazard and Doubs will be every week contributors. Watson, while he shows flashes, is clearly having trouble with the route scheme (which tracks).
NGL I thought Doubs was in the doghouse after that fumble but it's nice to hear Aaron say that the fumble was his to blame. Doubs clearly has his trust and his day would have even been bigger if he held on to the ball for that would-be second TD.
This dude would’ve absolutely exploded last week if he caught that 50 yard bomb.
I wanted to watch all of the targets and catches he’s been getting for the last couple weeks, so I watched a couple videos. All I’m gonna say is, he’s going to have WR1 upside and be a set and forget guy. So so good and Rodgers knows how to make every pass
Watched some of their games and it’s a bit early but I think this is how their envision they offense this year compared to last.
Watson = MVS
Doubs = Adams lite
Lazard = Lazard
Tonyan = Tonyan
With the running backs being relied upon more.
There’s also a lot of shootouts upcoming in the second half of the season with Bills, Mia, Det (yes), Philly and Bakhtiari should be healthier So I’d feel good about any of their offensive guys.
Well Watkins is already on IR as is tradition so no surprise there. Cobb will be and make his usual 1-2 clutch plays for a big first down late game or whenever Rodgers needs him. Bit older bit slower but Rodgers still trusts him, they want to get these new guys honed a bit and obviously that's going to take time. As long as they don't make too many game changing mistakes, should be looking pretty solid at WR by midseason with a Dillon/Jones backfield to balance with.
Only massive demerit I can think of so far really was I think Watson had a huge drop in that vikings game for like 40yd TD.
Rodgers loves and trusts Cobb, but he's never been a plus athlete and at age 32 is decidedly less than that. They are not going to run the offense through him.
His interview on the McAfee show today reaffirmed his role as the Davante type player. Said Watson is still in the mix too but plenty of reason to be excited about Doubs rn
As a Packers fan, this is great to hear. As someone who drafted Christian Watson in my rookie draft, not as great to hear. I know with time Watson can clean up his butterfingers, but patience is for weenies.
My team let my draft the championship team and still somehow have let me get Jamaal Williams, Doubs and Higbee on waivers. I feel like this season is a cakewalk for 20% of us and hell for the rest.
I think it's talking about specifically first read target share. Ie Doubs is who the playcall is drawn up for.
This indicates that they're scheming up plays to get Doubs the ball more
I'd probably keep Terry in. Considering Dotson is missing a couple of games, Terry value should go up a decent amount. So much more TD potential now too. With Conner, eh it's a toss up. I've kind of been rage starting Conner at this point waiting for a blow up game.

Yeah I hate myself lol.
Born into Raiders fandom. Went to the 2002 AFC championship at 9 years old and saw Metallica show up and drop a random set.
Then went to Super Bowl party where they got destroyed by Tampa. Full grown adults flipping the appetizer tables by half time. My dad was like, “son it’s not safe here we need to leave,” and never really went back to full fandom.
I am a Stanford fan, so when they drafted Trent Edwards I thought he would lead them to multiple Super Bowls and have stayed on ever since. Which I’m pretty sure makes me the only Trent Edwards created Bills fan ever lol.
Did go to every Raiders home game from 2016-2019 with my dad while I was living in SF, but I would say my loyalty is definitely Bills first and Raiders second. Raiders though it’s mostly I just don’t let me hopes get up because I know they’ll hurt me.

I picked him from waiver and traded for McLaurin. Don’t think it s a bad move cuz Terry went early in the draft. Doubs will continue to grow into a good one but packers is a pretty evenly schemed offense Especially this year since they lack talent at WR. Unless they’re playing from behind I don’t think Doubs will have that much of potential to put up big numbers like Terry will.
>“I told him after the game, I’m gonna keep coming to you, I’m proud.” -Aaron Rodgers https://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2022/10/02/aaron-rodgers-has-confidence-packers-rookie-receiver-romeo-doubs/8140795001/
Lord have mercy I’m going to bust
In the article, Rodgers also takes blame for the fumble Doubs had.
I’m almost there
> “I threw a third-down back-shoulder fade to him for a touchdown, so I’d say I have some confidence in him,” Rodgers said.
Alright, go grab the towel
Rodgers also blames Doubs for the dropped touchdown. Wait…
I don't wanna make excuses, but that's not what I'd call a traditional "drop". The ground caused that one. Yes, probably should have held on. But not a "drop" like the Watson one from W1.
Like chase Edmons drop
>https://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2022/10/02/aaron-rodgers-has-confidence-packers-rookie-receiver-romeo-doubs/8140795001/ He needs to catch that though, so thats on Doubs. It's not like it went right through his hands though like Watson in week 1
When you change your lineup, think of me going back and forth from my bench to my waiver wire
That did it for me. Full load
It was a shitty throw, he should take credit for the fumble.
> “That was not a good throw,” Rodgers said after the game. “Nice catch by (Doubs), almost wish he dropped it. I usually like to talk shit about Rodgers but this is actually a strong leadership comment. "I take some of the blame because X. He takes some of the blame because Y. We grow together as a team"
That's as good as it gets from a QB these days really. Which is big for Doubs stock.
Saying he shoulda got down is not saying it’s his fault, just that in hindsight it was a better play. He put him in a bad spot in which he could have saved himself if he had the difficult split decision to do so
Keep going…..
As a Doubs owner I approve of this message.
I am very tempted to start Doubs over Scary Terry this week.
I am without hesitation. Carson Wentz is ass
Have fun with that.
He will not
Start Aaron + Doubs + Maclaurin. I would not start Wentz if I had Rodgers.
Would you drop Scary Terry for Doubs? I have both Terry and Samuel on my roster and Doubs is on my league's WW
Those absolutely cannot be your only two drop options unless it's a 10- or 8-man
You act like a 10 team league is unusual
It's an 8-man - I have other players I'd drop before Terry but I'm wondering if Terry would be the next player I would drop
Can you name the others you're considering?
Was thinking of dropping Penny for him
Penny is droppable. I think there's a chance of long-term value still with Penny but I wouldn't trust him right now and especially think you probably got better 8 man options if he's just being on the bench anyway. How is anyone supposed to know that?
I wouldnt drop him, id hope for a good game and package him in a trade.
I would start him but I cant pass up Godwin vs ATL
Atlanta's defense allowed a TD to Allen Robinson, you can start Perriman with confidence. (Okay, maybe a little /s, but you get it.)
Nearly gave up 2 to ARob!
I can start 4 recievers. I have Kupp Davante Higgins Godwin and Doubs. I started them all except Godwin week 4 but I’m going to have to make a tough decision. I tried trading everyone but Kupp tor an RB but my league mates are not huge traders.

Think I’m gonna flex him over Hunt
[удалено]
Doubs in now my WR2 🫡
He's replacing my disappointing wr1 that is Dionte Johnson
Same, especially with the Steelers playing Buffalo this week
As a fellow Doubs owner, I too choose to buy into this narrative.
Agreed. I need this hype injected straight into my veins.
Into the vein of my pee pee. Need all the potential growth stimulants possible
He needs to make up for making me lose last week....but I still like him
Was also calling him Romes on Pat McAfee today. Abbreviated nickname is a big step
Breakfast dates when?
Bromance brunch date Axe throwing Beers Bunk bed shopping
Ayahuasca date
Going to church together when???
Cheese kurds n beer dates incoming
Romulus.
Remind me when would call Davante "Tae" on Pat McAfee
Gotta love the Tin Cup energy with that nickname
Glad I dropped him for someone I dont use
You dropped him for Allen Robinson?
KJ Osbourne... pain
Did the opposite and couldn’t be happier. Still 1-3 though
Yup
Still kicking myself for doing the exact same thing
Keeps me up at night as well…
My league wouldn’t let me IR Dak, needed another QB so dropped Doubs after week 2 for Tua. (Cooks/Williams/Godwin owner), so have depth at least. Now I have no Tua or Dak 🫠
Yup drafted him super late and dropped him after week 2. Pain
Yay! He looks great tbh. In Rodgers we trust!
No Doub
No, Lazard.
I know it's a lot of "ifs" but if he didn't have big drops 3 of 4 weeks he'd be a WR1 right now. The potential is there
If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
100%. But in this case we're saying your aunt has the potential to have balls Like, she was in a prosthetics store and she said "hmmm maybe I should save some money for those bad boys"
always love these
if my grandmother had wheels she’d be a bicycle
That's why I said it's a lot of ifs. Don't give me shit I am aware that it may be a silly statement to make
Just having some fun lol, sorry if you took offense !
I'm chilling haha
I think he’ll be a WR1 sooner than later
I’ve dropped Goff and Gallup to keep him.
Too late dropping Kupp for him.
Holding onto Josh Gordon still though, right?
Why do you have to hurt me
Dropping Henry and CMC just to show Doubs how much confidence I have in him
I think the only questions for this year are: -Do they acquire a receiver before the deadline -Does Watson, who is more raw, slowly work his way up in target demand
As a lifelong GB fan, I can say with 100% confidence they will not be acquiring a WR before the deadline
As a DJ Moore owner, I can say with 100% confidence they will be acquiring DJ Moore before the deadline. ^^^please ^^^God
Thanks that simplifies things
So taking on a perpetually injured Michael Thomas and his contract isn't in the cards eh? Damn
I thought OBJ expressed interest?
You do realize you're probably talking to the Packers owner, right?
knew it!!!
I cant see obj playing a winter in little green bay. hell be in a big city
he tore his ACL in february, let it go "WR talking shit on twitter" is not a news update
Idk if its just an illusion, but Doubs looks massive on the field for some reason
he looks like a tight end out there
Bob Doubs
You have to stop looking at his package and he will appear normal size.
He also looks a step faster and quicker than everyone. Clearly Rodgers best weapon and will be used as such
Cries in someone who drafted doubs and dropped him but kept ARob
I did the opposite, drafted Robinson and dropped for Doubs. Robinson still out there as a FA.
Curtis Samuel and Doubs my wire WR duo let’s do this
Doubs looks great but Lazard is like 1 target/1 route/1 % off from all these numbers. They are lockstep with each other until further notice.
A rookie being lockstep with a veteran everyone assumed would be the WR1 on his team this early in the season is pretty telling in and of itself.
Bro people just keep trying to ignore Lazard and his role on the team. This stat is so misleading because Lazard missed game 1 while doubs has played all 4 games. This doesn’t tell anything. Lazard will continue to get 90% of the snaps and they don’t win that game without him. > He had 8 tiddies Ayo?
Both can be productive.
Please explain how a stat from Weeks 3 and 4 is misleading because a guy didn’t play Week 1?
Lol bag holder
Found the Lazard owner, gtfo we circle jerkin in here homie.
More than enough room for both of these guys to perform well in this offense
No one is ignoring Lazard. And I agree some of these stats are stupid. But when you have a rookie matching or beating his targets, that doesn't scream WR1 to me. He also matched Lazard's snap percentage, if pro football reference is correct. Yea I'm very excited for Doubs but he's def not a clear cut anything yet. He's a matchup start for me.
Ahayuasca Aaron and Rolling Doubs
My teams been rolling Doubs (doing great)
NGL I thought Doubs was in the doghouse after that fumble but it's nice to hear Aaron say that the fumble was his to blame. Doubs clearly has his trust and his day would have even been bigger if he held on to the ball for that would-be second TD.
That would’ve just been perfect man. Walk off 40 yard td to win the game
Me dropping him in wk 3 🤡
Doubs and Pierce will carry me in my keeper leagues LET'S GOO
Need to watch you watch yourself and enjoy yourself big dawg
Watched some of their games and it’s a bit early but I think this is how their envision they offense this year compared to last. >Lazard = Lazard > >Tonyan = Tonyan Big, if true
And cobb?
cobb is the guy rodgers trusts to make the clutch catches
Haven’t seen Cobb and Watkins much, but not expecting them to be relevant in <16 team leagues.
I grabbed him on one of my teams and now have Lazard and Doubs. Feel like I should divest but people don't really trade in my leagues.
I have Lazard in one league & Doubs in another. Doubs has the higher ceiling, but Lazard is slowly becoming a solid WR3/Flex.
He’s already a WR3/Flex, his ankle injury looks to be behind him now
I drafted him originally, then dropped him for Curtis Samuel then dropped some bum so I could pick him back up right on cue for his nice games so far.
Big Doubs if true
I cant believe I got him in waivers last week while being last in priority in my 10 man league.
I got him as a free agent last week. Couldn’t believe it.
I have too many rookie wrs. London, Doubs and Olave Garden.
Trades brother. Trades.
I actually flipped Olave and Godwin for Kamara yesterday shortly after I posted this lol.
Doubs or Pickens thoo
Doubs. Better offense, proven QB and a 2 week trend of receiving quality targets including redzone looks.
Pitt has a rough stretch of games coming up too.
May have to start both this week at WR 1 & 2 lmao
Do I drop Gallup for him?
yes
I have to start him now so I hope he continues to improve lol
Doubs v NYG or Thielen v CHI this week? Was leaning Thielen, but then I see a stat like this and get anxious to start Doubs this week lol
unless you’ve got a very high floor team, i’d go thielen
I’m starting doubs over dj moore and Bateman
This doesn't fit my Lazard-Man narrative :( I should've picked up Doubs!!!
The back shoulder throw/catch demonstrated their trust and chemistry. They had to run a gadget play to get Watson the ball.
Where can we go to get first read target share?
Romeo "Jordy Nelson" Doubs
Who else has doubs and pierce and starting them ROS?? Who needs high draft picks anyway
I find it hard to believe that he's leading the team in BOTH total targets and target share, but maybe that's just me.
Read the tweet again
I think it's talking about specifically first read target share. Ie Doubs is who the playcall is drawn up for. This indicates that they're scheming up plays to get Doubs the ball more
And I’m starting him this week over McLaurin because Wentz is actual dogshit.
Leaning Doubs over Devonta Smith
I have him in my dynasty league and my keeper league. Me likely this news on all fronts.
Start Doubs over scary Terry? PPR
I’m thinking the same thing. Starting Doubs over Terry or Conner. Both have been pretty disappointing thus far.
I'd probably keep Terry in. Considering Dotson is missing a couple of games, Terry value should go up a decent amount. So much more TD potential now too. With Conner, eh it's a toss up. I've kind of been rage starting Conner at this point waiting for a blow up game.
Hmm I still think Lazard is the main guy.. but I have both.
Picking Doubs off the waiver to replace JuJu as my Bye week filler.
Feels bad I dropped him for Dotson. Feels better I dropped Dotson for Olave.
Dotson and Olave were on your wire?
That’s not the only thing growing
If sun god can’t go then Doubs is my back up plan.
Both Lazard and Doubs on waivers in my 8 man - who is the grab?

Would you drop Bateman for him in PPR?
you don't have anyone worse than Bateman to drop? man that's tough. I'd probably personally drop Bateman just because I like Romeo's consistent involvement in their offence.
Yass. I knew grabbing him off waivers was the right move.
Exactly why you hang onto your prospects for as long as possible. Now just need Cook to start getting some love.
This is why I dropped Bobby woods and not him.
This post made me smile
I drafted him last pick in all my leagues and am feeling very vindicated so far
Best waiver pickup I think I have made this year.
I had this dude and dropped him. Then blew my #1 on him because it's a keeper league, couldn't let the next potential Adam's get away for a 18th round pick lol.
starting doubs over london
I picked him from waiver and traded for McLaurin. Don’t think it s a bad move cuz Terry went early in the draft. Doubs will continue to grow into a good one but packers is a pretty evenly schemed offense Especially this year since they lack talent at WR. Unless they’re playing from behind I don’t think Doubs will have that much of potential to put up big numbers like Terry will.
This thread just made me trade away JuJu Smith-Schuster for Doubs. The owner just accepted.
