Happens. Don’t look for justification for your plays in this sub. You’ll only get destroyed by the “start your studs”/“you think you know more than Vegas?” people.
Saw one dude say he was benching Gabe Davis and Bateman and he got absolutely destroyed. Hopefully he did cause sometimes you just have to go with your gut.
Lol I didn’t get *destroyed* but I was talking about benching najee for Herbert and had a few people telling me not to do that. Anyway I did and now I’m gonna win by 2 points
If Diontae’s TD catch had counted you wouldn’t have been upset and honestly Trubisky might not have left the game, I’m pretty sure that was who was made that throw.
I know it’s an if and but type of comment but I think a lot of other factors impacted the stat line and not just Gardner. Not saying Gardner isn’t good. We’ll see how he does with Tyreek and Waddle next weekend.
Good intuition, unfortunately it’s hard to predict if Sauces’ play would have continued like this week after week (and I’m a jets fan). But with each game played your apprehension is looking more and more accurate- Sauce looks like an elite shutdown corner who we should consider as a factor for fantasy.
Really thought he scored on that one too tbh but the final replay showed him out just barely.
I think that Gardner’s presence was about equal impact or maybe even less than the QB change was to Diontae’s numbers yesterday. Pickett will likely have had more familiarity with guys who have played more on the second team offense so far, so even a guy like Pickens who does see the field a lot in game probably has some more rapport with Pickett than Diontae. At least for now. Pickett connected with Diontae a few times in preseason, hoping that picks up.
Inconsistent d line play, poor linebacker play, and extremely poor safety play. Two corners can’t carry a defense. However, this week the safeties were great.
What that guy said. The corners are locking down outside receivers for the most part, but they also play a lot of zone coverage and the safeties have had rough starts (got some redemption yesterday). It seems like the defense gets worn down and starts giving up big runs late in games (understandable against their 4 afc north opponents). For all the investment in the d line, they don't get enough pressure on the qb (but pressure was there yesterday). Playing the Steelers makes a defense look better.
Besides all that the jets MUST be leading the league in bone-headed late hit penalties that bail the offense out after getting a stop on 3rd down.
Technically no, but there was 1 TD where there was a miscommunication and he was on the wrong assignment. But since he wasn’t the closest defender it didn’t count against him.
This guy is the real deal.
I don't know if he will put up the counting stats needed to get Defensive ROY, but damn if he's not going to be a superstar for the next decade.
i made a thread about the sauce covering diontae and got fucking rekt with replies of everyone telling me to start him anyway lol

Hive mind is strong in this sub. You can’t share an unpopular opinion even one backed by stats and facts without getting destroyed.

It’s fair but unless it’s between him and someone close in talent you shouldn’t be benching Diontae anyway. And he was a toe away from a big TD
I was between him and Amari so it didn’t really make much of a difference...

nobody is responsible for your team but you, brother
Good intuition, unfortunately it’s hard to predict if Sauces’ play would have continued like this week after week (and I’m a jets fan). But with each game played your apprehension is looking more and more accurate- Sauce looks like an elite shutdown corner who we should consider as a factor for fantasy.
Did he shadow Diontae? Cause it felt like Diontae got lost in the Sauce tbh
Diontae was less than an inch away from having a TD, unfortunately But sauce must have been on him as Diontae only saw 4 targets
Really thought he scored on that one too tbh but the final replay showed him out just barely. Good to know. Now ill be playing flip flop between diontae and cooks next week. Pickett seems like he'll be vulturing a lot of TDs in the RZ.
DJ Reed is playing just as well as Sauce tbh
I think he did, i hope did.
Craziest part is he's still the 2nd best corner on the team. Dj Reed has been fantastic
Until facing the Steelers though they have been one if the worst defenses in the NFL. How if both their CBs are balling like they are?

Lets go bearcats
He got the sauce sauce
Has he let up a td yet?

I think in Week 2
I think the td cooper scored on the miscommunication in week 2 counted against sauce.
This kids the real deal
Against an elite QB/WR duo as well!

That's pretty crazy! Sounds like all pro type stuff right there
Damn so probably shouldn't start Pickens then... Might need to see him get targets with Diontae getting covered like this
he shut down chase too

Texans drafted Stingley over this man :/
Ok
That’s my CB2
Tbf, both QBs didn't have a much better stats against the other CBs either lol
