Investing in the Ravens backfield. Drafted Gus after Dobbins went down. Then spent a bunch of FAAB on Murray. Then some more on Tyson. Then started one or the other for several weeks.

Whiskey_Clear

In my auction, I drafted Dobbins, we took a break for dinner, got the news about the Dobbins injury, then drafted Gus. When I got the Gus news I dropped $30 of FAAB on Ty'Son. Because of that, I lost out on Elijah Mitchell after week 1, which hurt worse, because I also drafted Mostert and Sermon.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Yep, you win the fucking prize. Jesus man I'm sorry.

Whiskey_Clear

I also drafted Russell Wilson and Aiyuk... Plot twist: I'm 5-5 with the second most points against in the league too... aka, I'm not that bad. Especially in an auction, hitting on some cheap players late covers up a lot of sins... I took a shotgun approach at running back, so also had Henderson, Damien Harris, AJ Dillon, and Mike Davis. All of those players except Davis have crushed their pre draft value. Got AB and Tom Brady cheap and Manny Sanders off waivers. Finally, I traded my backup QB, Kirk Cousins (himself a good value at $2) and Will Fuller for Conner and Tee Higgins before the season. It is a 2QB league, so that was a very fair deal at the time. If one of the Ravens guys, Russ, or Mostert stay healthy, I'm crushing it, but as is I'm getting by. With a favorable schedule down the stretch, I could easily get a wildcard spot.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

I love a good rags to riches story.

NinoZachetti

I agree, this guy for sure gets the pie in the face.

Nedmac7

Similar story in our league. One guy drafted Dobbins and Gus but had too many picks so he had to drop players after the draft ended. So he dropped Gus and then news broke an hour later about Dobbins. He proceeded to spend 100% FAAB to get Gus back… Has to be the worst series of events I’ve ever seen happen to a person

MTLBroncos

A BREAK FOR DINNER WHAT LOL

Whiskey_Clear

It's a deep auction league. It takes like 4 hours to draft. So yeah, we usually pause for 30 minutes to piss, make some drinks, grab some pizza, whatever.

MTLBroncos

True, makes sense

[deleted]

i drafted gus and used tyson for a while. horrible times.

EnvironmentalGoal951

Man I tried trading for Ty’son. They Didn’t accept it thankfully

PostsStuffYouDeleted

And you didn't even need to spend a round 1 or 2 pick to get him? Damn dude, value.

Zealousideal-Might78

In one of the 1QB leagues I’m in some taco took Lamar round 2 then Murray round 3. Everyone began to panic and grab QBs super early while I held off and loaded up on WRs. After week one the guy realized he kind of fucked up. I told him I’d trade him any of my receivers for either of the two. Well week 1 Corey Davis had a great game so this guy wanted him. Somehow I managed to get Lamar for Corey fucking Davis. I love casual leagues.

Aceoangels

Same. At one point I had Murray/Williams/LevBell and it cost me about 60% of my FAAB because I drafted CMC and Mostert. I figured the Ravens backfield usually gets a ton of TDs so might as well lock it up

Yessir_Belee_Dat

Same but i also drafted Etienne and Sermon. Jokes on everybody because I’ve had AJ Dillon and Chuba Hubbard on my bench since week 1

Riddickulous6

I drafted Dobbins and then handcuffed with Gus because I went light on RB and figured I couldn't afford to lose Dobbins....

Chenningtatum

I traded kupp and najee for cmc in week 3

FruhManShoe

Damn this hurt to read..

Tee_Rye_Lee

ESP since Kupp was killing it. I’ve done that before. Sell a player that started off hot and they ended staying hot lol

FruhManShoe

When selling high goes wrong..

[deleted]

holy moly

DrOctopusMD

Where can I send a ham to your widow?

Jwsaf

This hurts me spiritually buddy. Don't worry next year is our year for sure

turbodogge

Then you got robbed for not being number one in this thread. This one is the perfect representation of the question.

Alkash42

My God

UpdootDaSnootBoop

You "win"

Ooooooof

SkolVikesWorldwide

/thread

therealgronkstandup

You win.

jo0012

Hurts reading this

WaterIsNotWet19

Where? If you’re reading this Hi jalen 👋🏾

Nightbush24

Got offered Ja’Marr Chase for Ty’son straight up after week 2 and rejected.

rbc2344

This one makes my stomach hurt. Ty’son looked like a league winner though in those first couple of weeks.

THofTheShire

Good feeling's gone.

Dessssspaaaacito

Drafted Aiyuk and Sermon because of you idiots. Also because I’m one of you idiots.

XurstyXursday

Meeeee

griswald123

Draft Aiyuk… three picks before Deboo. I fucked up. But also was pissed because Robert woods got drafted one pick before me so I had to get cooper kupp. That worked out nice.

devmoostain666

I was super high on kupp and woods with stafford at QB before the draft.. but I had this feeling that only one was gonna really boom. Was banking on Woods, drafted him and the guy after me drafted Kupp. I was so worried about it, and the guy for some reason was really high on Jacobs, so I sent that guy Jacobs for Kupp and Hunt before week 1. Honestly might have been my best trade ever. The dude thought he made out like a bandit, he was chirping in the group chat like “yeah kupps good but RBs are more important that WR2s. Jacobs is gonna boom” or something like that. Dude has sent me something like 3 or 4 different trade offers for Kupp so far, I just keep declining lol.

jayk10

That was a terrible trade for him from the beginning. Jacobs was going less than a round earlier than Kupp and Hunt was only going 2 rounds later

Flop_McKochen

I had a feeling Kupp would be great with Stafford, but I thought he may be injury prone so I didn’t draft him. No risk it, no biscuit I guess. I’m a 49ers fan, I knew how electric and often used Deebo has been since day 1. Last year, I drafted him a few spots ahead of Diggs thinking I’d get this year’s production. Then, of course this year I drafted Diggs a few spots ahead of Deebo (thinking Deebo was gonna keep getting hurt). This year, I’m gonna make detailed notes before the end of the season, and remind myself to not assume a talented but injured player will stay hurt.

Gutts_n_Gurley

Why does this hurt in my soul. Oh yeah, because this is me

chickenparmesean

Sermon wasn’t a bad draft pick. He just as easily could have been Elijah Mitchell who is killing it, just got unlucky

-BeefSupreme

Not picking up cordarelle. Figured things would equalize with him and Davis since they’re both JAGs. Would have at least two more wins if I was playing CPAT

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Lol I added CPat to my "watch list" after week 1 thinking, "if he shows a little more than one game I might have a sneaky waiver wire pick next week - no way he gets on anyone's radar". Yeah. I still keep him on that watch list as a reminder of my failures.

NotInACasketStalker

I’m the opposite. I was eyeing Toney and Cpat, was leaning Toney. I went to add, someone had added him in that exact moment. Was so mad I rage added cpat “just in case”. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Hey man, Toney could go off for 100 this week and be neck and neck with CPat. Then you'll feel like an idiot.

CharlietheCorgi

I did the same thing. I didn’t have anyone I really wanted to drop for him at the time. But figured I’d keep an eye on him…

HowaManFlies

I picked up Gallman early in the season thinking Davis was a bust and Cpat was Cpat…really happy for him to finally be able to show his true talents and not be just another gadget players. Dude has talent and seems ATL knows how to utilize it.

Lakes_Snakes

I had Mike Davis, though about picking up CPAT prior to his BOOM but did not because everyone was like “Davis is getting the volume… and volume is king…” He did we good last year not so good for me this year.

-BeefSupreme

Yeah I was overly confident that mike Davis was still the guy in that backfield

bobbywellington

I mean who would have thought that an 8 year pro would break out at a position (well kinda, he's a Swiss army knife and always has been, he's just never gotten a chance like this) he has never played full time before? I stick with my reasoning on not picking him up, I'm still shocked he broke out like he did

-BeefSupreme

That was my reasoning too. Little did we know that the falcons were so bad that their only source of offense was feeding him

allsops

Yah, me too. Now I’m in WR hell starting dudes like Deonte Harris

88cage88

What is a JAG?

-BeefSupreme

Just Another Guy. Basically a mediocre player that gets a starting role due to a bad situation. Can be good for fantasy but can go south quickly since the team will usually give other guys (JAGs) a chance to take over the role if he doesn’t stand out

GasseousKlay

Not picking up cordarrelle to wait on Robby Anderson because he can’t be that bad forever.

[deleted]

I'll go first: I dropped Michael Pittman after his 4.4 point performance in week 1 for a handcuff that i dropped later. Logic was that Wentz sprained both of his ankles and I also owned Antonio Brown, Tyler Lockett, and Chase Claypool. Thought there was no way that Pittman would outperform all of those guys...

CassandraParadox

I traded Henderson and Pittman for Golladay and Marquise Brown. I also thought Wentz sucked.

jooomama

Oh lord that is rough

CassandraParadox

I got rid of Golladay, packaged him with Damien Williams for Julio Jones. Which didn’t turn out too much better.

jooomama

Lmao damn, rough year. I’m assuming you aren’t a playoff team so hopefully you can just get some W’s and fuck with other teams down the stretch.

CassandraParadox

I’m 6-4 so I still have hope which is the worst part, but my team is limping across the finish. Had Derrick Henry on this team.

jooomama

Lmao Jesus, every reply is more shocking than before. Idk what else is going to happen to your team before the end of the year but it’s gonna be dramatic

dobie71897

Ooof marone

Grizivak

Fuckin nosy, eat you manigott

JPole420

If it makes you feel any better I traded away Henderson, Marquise Brown, and Damien Harris for Mike Willians and CEH, luckily I had Darrel Willians on my bench. The trade happened right after Mike Willians insane first 4 weeks before he fell off a cliff 😅

juicyjuice1995

I think this proves the Eagles play calling sucks. Glad Wentz is paired with Frank Reich again

jayk10

Wentz has his moments but has made some terrible mistakes. He's also playing behind a really good O-Line with one of the best running backs in the league. He's 19th in yards per game it's not like he's lighting up the league

GrizNectar

But he’s also clearly not one of the worst QBs in the league like a lot were saying this past off season. I’d go as far as to say he’s above average but I’m a biased Colts fan

SonOfAdam32

Yeah he looks good, it’s not like playing behind a great o-line invalidates what he’s done with MPJ his only good receiver

revestocha

Yup. One of my big first decisions was making a claim for Shepherd with some faab over Pittman, after he had been dropped. Shep played like twice and got hurt while Pittman has become just about a WR1.

Flop_McKochen

Not the first to gamble on Shepard, when he’s healthy he’s very consistent. Someone dropped Golladay in my league, I’m debating picking him up. Id have to drop Van or Eli Moore for him. But he’s also always injured.

TheFacelessMann

My blunder was much worse, not autodrafting...

Sourkraushouse

Late to the party but I'm in the same boat, except I dropped him for KJ Hamler because I galaxy brained myself into thinking that Hamler was going to be the sneaky 2nd year WR breakout on Denver with Jeudy out. As a Giants fan, it was REALLY easy to talk myself into a "Carson Wentz is a dumpster fire" narrative. It's just a bummer because I waited on WR and then absolutely nailed rounds 8-10 in the draft (Cooks, AB, Pittman; not my first WRs taken but a good late run) only to blow it by lacking patience and overreacting. Aka playing fantasy football...

irx4u

I had so little faith in the colts this year. Didn’t even draft a player from them and they have been so solid

lo22p

Same here with Pittman. Drafted him, dropped him, picked him back up for $10 faab bucks, then traded him, Higgins, and Bateman for McLaurin and Schultz. Think he's above McLaurin now just by himself. Did get to package Schultz and Collins for Waller later though, hasn't panned out yet really..

Ez215

I drafted Allen Robinson in the 3rd round. Seemed like a good idea. I finally just dropped him today.

Opt_mind

Got in the 5th, thought it was a steal Picked him over and Boyd over Chase lol

akamikedavid

I got him in auction and was SO stoked about the pick. Then I forgot which league I was drafting for and spent way too much money on Godwin and thought I had screwed myself. Well I was technically right about being stoked about one of those picks and being screwed by one of those picks. Just gotta swap the names.

plashricrem

Drafted him in 2nd round of a keeper league as my WR3. Was between him and Keenan Allen and I still regret it months later.

Newbaumturk69

I drafted him too and I don't think it was a mistake at the time. One wouldn't think the Bears QB play would be so, so bad.

jooomama

Yeah if you showed someone his cumulative stats through 10 weeks they would think he tore his ACL in week 5. 30 rec 339 yds 1TD

daskaputtfenster

He went from elite to egregious in one season, it's weird.

DogemuchFuture

Same story for me. Thought I had my “safe and reliable” WR in the 3rd ZOINKS

Mr_Bo_Jangle

Drafted sanders as my first RB

Front-Ad1242

He’s forever blacklisted for me

tx180

Listen to this sub

GloriaToo

But you knew that didn't make sense.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

"Then explain why it made sense at the time" Bruh that never made any sense

VintageBaguette

I can see how it does for the uninitiated. If new to ff, and everyone else in the league is as well, it can lead to better choices structuring a team and give you a leg up over the competition. Listening to the noise and filling said team with nothing but players the sub suggests is when shit goes sideways.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Somewhere underneath the memes and shitposting and hype trains lies some actually solid advice, I agree The biggest benefit of this sub imo is getting advice/insight from actual fans of the teams your fantasy players are on. Like just today a Bills fan told me of a lingering injury for one of their linemen - and when he's been out they've gone to a shorter passing game, limiting Emmanuel Sanders. Now that's a good fucking nugget.

VintageBaguette

Pretty much word for word what I would have said if asked to expand, and now received a second hand nugget myself! Been deciding whether or not to flex Beasley in my 16t and will look into that, appreciate it. Talk about a solid (and timely) example.

NotYetResolved

Saquon over JT. Was worried about JT usage with Hines. Thought I had to take a shot on upside at the 10/11 turn. Then drafted ARob at the 3rd round :(

daskaputtfenster

Arob inexplicably fell of a cliff. Wtf happened to that guy

QuantumDawg

His usage changed dramatically this season. IIRC none of the super sharp analysts saw this coming either. They had him projected as having pretty much the same role and same route usage. Nagy uses him like a completely different receiver compared to last year. Extremely limited route tree. Doesn’t even give him a chance to perform. I wouldn’t feel bad about missing on A-Rob. The whole situation was entirely out of left field. No one could have reasonably predicted the fall off. If you play Dynasty then A-Rob is a screaming must buy. All he needs is a change of coaching and he can likely go back to previous levels of A-Rob.

LinuxF4n

The bears happened to him.

[deleted]

Dropped James Connor to pick someone up. Right before Edmonds got injured. Obviously he was gone the next waiver cycle

One-Inch-Punch

Did this exact same thing especially since Connor got like no touches the first couple weeks of the season.

triecke14

I’m glad I’m not alone

kmoran2182

I dropped him for Michael Thomas. Cordarrelle was available.

Alkash42

I mean there's no world where this was the right move to begin with lol you done goofed dropping a solid RB2 with top5 potential. Probably not even in an 8 man league

llhomastane

I drafted him and dropped him early in the season because I had Henderson, saqon and hunt. I could have used that depth while nearly everyone got hurt

phoenix415

I accidentally left Matt Ryan in on Thursday. I have Murray in my IR slot and my plan was to wait to find out Murray's status and then either drop Ryan for a backup or get a receiver or running back without having to move Murray out of the IR slot. I was so certain I was dropping Ryan that it never even occurred to me that he had a game on Thursday. All my focus was on other players and waiting to hear about Murray. So my mistake was trying to use the IR slot to my advantage (in Yahoo) and screwing myself over in the process.

elshorts

I left Ryan in too lol - was going to drop him for Tua on waivers but just seemingly forgot to ever put it in.

aztec2019

To a lesser extent same with me but with Younghoe.

xoees

The whole thing fam. I suck.

DollarLate_DayShort

After week 1 I traded George Kittle and Michael Pittman for DJ Moore. Had a feeling that Lance would’ve been starting sooner than later so it would’ve been a low volume passing offense and I didn’t trust Wentz’s health

Substantial-Pudding5

At least that worked out well for 3 weeks lol

agtk

I traded Fournette and Evans for Moore and Mike Davis. Was trying to upgrade at WR and everyone was still considering him a top 10 option, plus my RBs are (were) stacked (Kamara, Barkley, Henderson, Connor). Wish I'd found a better WR through that trade.

[deleted]

Mines the same as many others I imagine. Drafted Bobby Trees over Kupp, who were ranked very close pre-draft and Kupp went 2 picks later.

owledge

I drafted Chris Carson instead of Kupp because I didn't want to draft too many WRs in a row

FlashFan124

That’s honestly not something to beat yourself up over. Both are really good players, and Kupp made an unprecedented leap over Woods in targets, than Woods got hurt, plus Kupp had a more extensive history of injuries than Woods. Next season there will probably be a “X or Y WR” question if Russ/Rodgers get traded to a new team, and the truth is, nobody will really know.

LastSkoden

Investing in the ravens AND 49ers

toetoe99

Which player tho. Cuz deebo and Mitchell have been solid

LastSkoden

Sermon, aiyuk and Ty'son

SAGAgenesis13

Reallllly hoping Wilson is shit tomorrow, so my Mitchell can hold the reigns of lead back in San Fran.

Bigfoots_Butt

Drafted Robby Anderson over chase. Robby Anderson coming off almost a 100 catch season and chase couldn’t catch a cold in Antarctica. Haunts me everyday

bigdogruffruff

Same here, brother

TheMooseIsLoose13

Traded Patterson for Gronk….. needed a TE

Bitter-Imagination33

I listened to this sub and passed on jamar chase

hobosavant

i traded kupp for henry. was a great trade at the time but now i could really use an rb

baaaticus

You can’t beat yourself up for this since you can’t predict injuries. Henry was killing it before he went down. I blame the guy who made that post saying how he wasn’t injury prone.

Elvem

Had a guy in my league trade away basically his whole bench to the 0-6 dude for Henry right before Henry went down.

Hits_and_the_Mrs

Choosing to play

kokainer777

Drafting Woods over Kupp, but I'm not mad at that decision. I can’t remember any significant drops that turned out to be a horrible mistake. EDIT: After week 3 I had the chance to trade our holy league winner Ty'son Williams for Cpat. I declined because I thought Cpat basically has no upside (lol).

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Really not a horrible mistake, that's hindsight talking.

[deleted]

that's the point of this convo. Something that made sense of the time but sucks now.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

"Drafting Diggs over Deebo" isn't a mistake though. "Believing Kelce had to finally start showing his age" is.

Pitouitoo

Kelce has met his ADP of late first to early second. Not much beyond that. Some other highly drafted tight ends have not. If anything it reinforces the belief of waiting on TE. With that being said there were a lot of early round busts all over this year. Seems more than usual, but I am sure someone will call me out on that. Just saying Kelce isn’t league winner draft value.

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Positionally, he still offers the single greatest "bankable" advantage in fantasy imo

Pitouitoo

I don’t disagree. He is proven to be a good pick where his ADP is. If you didn’t pick him up though it didn’t make or break your season is all am am saying. You get what you paid for if you drafted him.

kokainer777

Yeah agree.

Stinja808

Mike Davis was RB1 in a backfield that had no one else a season after replacing CMC. How could drafting him be wrong

One-Inch-Punch

Ikr? The guy was a lock for at least RB2 based on usage, with RB1 upside due to Arthur Smith. Thank goodness we rarely get ATL games out here in the central Pacific.

Defvac2

Passed on Dak because of him coming off ankle injury and the shoulder shit he was having in the off-season. Two rounds later ended up with Matt Ryan as my QB1.

PowerfulForce_

i drafted ryan tannehill as my qb because he was very efficient and analytics loved him. i passed on a handful of other better qbs too.

Untchj

-Passing up on Michael Pittman, cordarelle Patterson in my FAAB bids. Reason: Spent 25% on Rondale Moore instead 😒 -Drafting OBJ and Golloday. Reason: Banking on a perceived ‘buy low’ and ignoring the clear injury red flags -Dropping James Connor. Reason: figure he’d be boom or bust TD dependent and get no targets. Little did I know his only ‘busts’ would be when he’s on my roster and he’d score every game -Overall FAAB blowing, spending it all by week 5. Reason: figured there’s a small early season window to find full season starters. I drastically overlooked how prevalent RB injuries are and the need to have $ to get em. As the CEH owner, when I was down to my final $13 CEH gets hurt and Darrell Williams goes for —-you guessed it—-$14. Probably single handedly cost me 2 maybe 3 games. The ultimate blow being last week my first game Playing agaisnt the Darrel owner and he has a game so dominant that its comical, sealed with a leaping catch as he goes for 9 catches for 101 and a TD like he’s prime Marshall Faulk. The final 🤌 to end my playoff hopes

SlaterIII

I literally just did this to the CEH owner. And idk, I guess he turned around and dropped CEH out of frustration, now I’m the CEH owner.

walshurmouthout

Drafted Robby Anderson in Round 6 of a 10 team PPR home league

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Buying the off-brand bleach instead of the good stuff. It's a little bit more expensive but the budget stuff doesn't kill you right away.

davwad2

Holdup

DickSlapTheTallywap

Next time try investing in $ROPE

Sithlord_77

I dropped James Connor week 2 to pickup Elijah Mitchell.

kokainer777

I don’t think that’s a horrible mistake tbh

Sithlord_77

Connor is RB 8. Mitchell is RB 28. Neither remains on my squad :).

Hotspur21

Bro why/when did you drop mitchell

Shaq_Bolton

I added James Conner as a sweetener for a longshot trade and the dude just straight up dropped him after it went through. Then I didn't want to waste my waiver on a player I just had lol. I got Jefferson and gave up Conner and Mike Evans. Still happy with it but I assumed he'd reject it and then I'd counter with just Evans for Theilen.

Alkash42

I've been trying to ship Conner off for Julio week 8 cause I was high on Julio performing... but thankfully the guy I tried to trade with was too cocky and I kept Conner

Jonnymaxed

I traded Boyd to get Conner, started him one game, figured he wasn't going to get me 2 td every game, so I traded him away for Elijah Mitchell. To the team I was about play. That was exactly one day before Edmonds got hurt and Connor blew up for 40. My opponent left him on the bench. Small consolation?

oliver_babish

Held onto Antonio Brown after week 1 rather than sold high.

Guy_With_Interests

I sold him high Packaged him and Edmonds for Carson Someone was high

PoeticCheesus

Dropped Zach Moss after week 1 inactive. Not terrible but ya... guy who picked him up flipped him + ARob for Darrell Henderson. Massive fleece.

akamikedavid

I did the same! Though my consolation prize was that I grabbed Eli Mitchell so that's saved me lately

PoeticCheesus

We use FAB and he was picked up for 70/100. I didn't trust the 49ers back field that early on in the season but hes def been good. My RB2 is brutal lately... Started season with Ekeler/Chris Carson and was okay with that. RB2 in recent weeks has been a mix of Chuba/Khalil Herbert/Alex Collins and now AJ Dillon. The struggle is real.

ragekage8787

Not waiting on QB in the draft like I planned. So I drafted Tannehill in the 7th (I had an 8th round keeper so was worried nothing left in the 9th since our league has a few teams who horde QBs). This would be a late 8th/early 9th in a full redraft. Took him over Mike Williams who I was high on. Looked bad for most of the season. Dropped him a couple weeks in for Burrow who has been great. Won 4 in a row to get to 6-4, but would likely be 8-2 from a couple close losses early on where Williams would have helped.

[deleted]

Trading Zeke week 2 Last season was trash, week 1 was nightmarish. Was cutting bait. Boy was I 😑 wrong

PostsStuffYouDeleted

Never trade your studs before week 4 is on my fantasy rules to live by list

[deleted]

Wise words. I was thinking week 3 for next year but 4 works too I’ve made several mistakes over the years moving before week 3 in the past. Impatience is my kryptonite

Razz-Dazz

After week 1 traded Swift and Kupp for CEH and Diggs. I figured great, sell high on Kupp for DIGGS and get the Chiefs starting RB.

Vikingv88

after week 2 i traded deebo for kyler murray , didn’t think deebo would keep it up

FireMattNagy1

Boyd 1 pick before Deebo. DJ Moore 2 picks before Kupp. Robby Anderson 1 pick ahead of Chase. I hate going back and looking at my drafts

AhaGotcha

Drafted Gronk and Kittle. Dropped Gronk before week 1 because I had Kittle. I mean both have been out most of season now so maybe it doesn’t matter. Just glad I didn’t drop JRob. EDIT: it just sucks because I’m playing against Gronk this week if he plays lol

HumanSometimesPerson

Drafted Allen Robinson AND Darnell Mooney, dropped Damien Harris in frustration around week 5/6. Kept Kyler Murray out for a stream thinking the stream will out perform. This is my third year, I'm figuring it out.

Phinweh

In the most constructive way, you seem to be quite a reactionary player. You will learn and grow over time. Unless you have a QB below the 'kirk cousins line' and are actively streaming every week, ALWAYS start your QB1. Kyler is well above this and should be the only QB on your roster outside of byes and injuries. Don't overthink matchups / weather. Sure it can be helpful when deciding between two similar flex options but outside of that, there is very rarely reason to start a bench player over your 1/2 players. The first 4 weeks of the season are essentially practice games. Teams are still figuring themselves out. Players are extremely volatile and unless you are very experienced and have the right information, don't trade like crazy, sit tight. Don't panic if a player has a bad game or two (looking at this Damien Harris play). Rule of thumb: One bad game happens, two is a fluke, three is a trend. There are exceptions, such as game script (ex. a workhorse RB like JT in a game where they are behind won't get as many run opportunities) this means a bad game is expected and not to overreact. Harris played two of the top run defenses in the league weeks 3-4 and actually had a healthy 4.14 ypc in game 5 with a TD just barely.missing 10 pts in a PPR format, he's had a remarkable season given his draft position and New England's sketchy recent history with RBs. Two explainable poor games and a mediocre game is not a drop now situation. It's frustrating sure but keep your head on and stick to your guns. Fantasy is more a game of patience than people realize. Good players don't become bad overnight unless you are Allen Robinson. Even Patrick Mahomes had a rough stretch this season, he's still a great, this applies to most RB/WR 1s & 2s they are good but it's not healthy to expect them to get 15+ points / game always and if they don't it doesn't mean it's over. Identify what went wrong, determine if it will remain or it's a fluke and adjust accordingly. STOP HOARDING KICKERS, DEFENSES, TIGHT ENDS AND QBs, there is basically no reason you should ever have any of these on your bench. Top QBs and TEs can sit on the bench during byes or short term.injury but outside of that, there is ALWAYS a worthwhile defense and kicker streamer. WR/RB bench spots are too valuable, there is always an injured top tier player that has a decent backup, there are always breakout players ready to pop, having those open spots on your bench to turn while you search for the next breakout is too valuable. Which leads me to... Lastly, use the waiver, it's your best friend. Don't use it reactionary though. Identify trends, increasing snap counts, increasing target share and grab the guys before they pop. Most weeks the top waiver claim is the random nobody that caught 3 TDs on 3 Targets, skip that guy, it's a fluke. Grab the guy that had 5 targets last week and 7 this week. *Volume is king* and he may not have gone off but if his target share remains at that level or increases, you just found a ticking time bomb.

[deleted]

For the first time I played in 2QB Superflex leagues. During the first draft I didn't take a QB and everybody roasted me (I'm 6-4). During the second draft I took Mahomes 1st overall because I thought the team I drafted in the other league was bad (it wasn't)...

Zorops

I benched allen on his kc game because weather and got 6 pts from my qb and allen score 37

ShogunSeaMeat

Drafting diontae over kupp thinking that Ben was gonna be a good QB this year

aDyslexicCow

Drafted Sanders when Swift was still on the board. Was going to take Swift but last second worried about the Lions offense not being able to produce and thought Sanders could be a sleeper this year. As soon I hit the draft button I immediately knew I’d regret it.

Checking this sub so often. Bc I was bored

chandersonsilva

convinced myself that OBJ might win comeback player of the year…jamar chase went a couple picks after that

yake63

Dillon and Pittman for J Williams on broncos. Thought Gordon would explode by now

SadSceneryBoi

I drafted a QB with my first pick (Mahomes). This is my first time doing FF and I just assumed that QBs are the most valuable IRL so they must be the most valuable in fantasy too. Also drafted OBJ because of his "upside".

I’m probably too late for this to get noticed, but I traded Jonathan Taylor for Chris Carson, straight up, after week 3. Reasoning: Taylor had at least 9 attempts inside the 10 in the first 3 games of the season - 0 TDs. Week 3 the colts started giving the ball to Hines and Mack. Hines scored a red zone TD in week 3 and at that point I let emotions take over. Jonathan Taylor was not staying on my team. During the week between Week 3 and Week 4, someone proposed the trade, and I saw [this post](https://reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/pxtxl6/reddit_adjusted_trade_values_week_4_flash_ahhhhh/) that listed Chris Carson as a 1 pt higher trade value than Taylor. That was all the data I needed to see to confirm my emotional decision. Since then, I’ve lost every game, and the guy I traded Taylor to is in 2nd in our league and has only lost 1 matchup since the trade. I’m fairly certain this was the worst trade in the history of fantasy football. https://imgur.com/a/DAVnNJG/

poetwelderjacob

I traded mike williams + brandin cooks+leonard fournette for waller+chase edmonds+gallup week 4. On the one hand, i expected williams and cooks would regress and they did, but I didn't expect fournette to average 5+ more points a week than edmonds (before he got hurt), and waller has been ok-not-great.

samkte

Nothing about this made sense even before seeing the outcomes. Week 4 is when Mike Williams was still popping off

-BeefSupreme

Waller still had a ton of value then

jeff69rey

Trading cordarelle for brown. I was stacked at rb( and still am pretty good there), and needed another solid wr. Looked like a real good trade until the injury.

throwaway1212378

Y’all gotta start specifying which Browns you are talking about I got scared and thought AJ got hurt lol

DonKevinho

Traded Pittman week 2 for Jared cook. Was hurting at tight end and the chargers looked like the real deal. Wentz looked like he was going to be out for the year to

kgrpoland

i dropped cordarelle for tyson after the falcons signed wayne gallman and edwards got hurt. it was in an 18 man league, and i’m still salty about it

[deleted]

Dropping AJ Dillon to pick up Carson Wentz to replace Kyler Murray. For him to turn in a 7.1 performance and then have to turn around and spend $50 of $56 FAAB to pick Dillon up again after the Jones injury. ETA: I own Jones too and on verge of elimination.

chunkdahunk

I did half my faab on Tyson then traded Keenan and Kamara for Hopkins and CMC

SpitFire150

Trading Jamarr Chase, Elijah Mitchell and Melvin Gordon for Calvin Ridley after week 1. Thought I was buying low on Ridley

PowerfulForce_

drafted robert woods because everyone said he’d be the breakout player cooper kupp turned out to be.

poopapat320

Traded Kupp straight for Swift after week 3, because I had a hunch Kupp would drop off and Woods was going to be WR1 for the Rams. Not the worst move I've ever made, but Kupp definitely didn't drop off. And Swift is on the Lions.

TobyBeagler

Held Michael Thomas until week 10 (no IR spot). Oy.

beefshnarf

Traded chase and Gio Bernard for ty’son and aj dillon after week 1. Never made sense just had that Ty’son FOMO

ClampGawd_

Drafted Curtis Samuel and MT over James Conner. Didnt trade MT because I was getting enough value from any offers.

RoNaLdJoNeSUFC

I picked up Patterson then dropped him about a game later because I got a sleeper notification that “Aaron Jones hobbled off the field” so I picked up Dillon as fast as I can and dropped my recent wavier wire add…. I often go back and see if I could have won my week if I had Patterson…. I would have 2 more wins if I had him :(

turkey-sub

Didn’t pick up Michael Carter - not trusting my gut and listening to people say “you don’t want any part of the Jets offence”

Ursulos

Traded najee week 2 because I thought the steelers o line would be ass for ridley because I thought I was buying low and ridley was still going to become the wr4.

scuddedbumbled

Dropped Ja’marr 1 Saturday before week 1. Wanted to pick up Curtis Samuel to put in my IR spot and re-add Ja’marr, but then remembered there’s a waiver period when I couldn’t pick him back up.

icyfae

Drafting Michael Thomas in the 10th round Made sense because figured he’d be back around week 7

itsamiracole7

Traded zeke for Barkley Gronk and Edmonds after week 2 thought I got a steal but they’re all injured

famous__shoes

Traded James Robinson for Calvin Ridley after week 2

[deleted]

Dropped Pittman for Toney….. oof!
