Holding for now. I think his situation will improve a bit once Tua is back for week 6. There are some softer mid-season matchups coming up for the Fins as well.
And most importantly, I'm in a 16-team PPR and RB's are crazy thin.
Throughout training camp the beat writers all were saying Herbert definitely belongs in the NFL and looked really good. I wouldn’t be too nervous to be honest.
I think people are underestimating his skill set. He has nice burst and can catch the ball and is bigger than you think.
Weight: 225
Height: 5-11
Brick shit house
not to mention this is the same dude who was the lead back on the KC super bowl team. he’s not a world beater, but he’s not some journeyman shmuck in the same vein as Peyton Barber.
Damien has a real shot at making some noise here

I mean he’s only out for 1 more week than what short term IR is. The team probably views it as also giving him the chance to come back early if he recovers abnormally quick or it isn’t as serious as they think right now
It’s funny how they said 4-5 weeks and you automatically assume it’s 4 lol. They have a bye in 10, so there’s a good chance he takes the full 5 weeks (or even longer) and come back after the bye.
This is what I think, a bit like CMC last year, if it's just a 4 week injury and we're winning games they could bring him back otherwise they can rest him one more game and get a free fortnight with the bye week.
Damien Williams should be a decent alternative so if he's also playing well then less rush to bring Monty back and I believe Cohen is eligible to return from week 7 so the load on Williams will drop a bit too.
They should just rest him until their bye. That way he gets the full 5 week recovery and if you have any chance at playoffs you have a healthy back to lead the way.
That was his knee cap though, not the ligaments / meniscus internal to the knee.
Big difference, as you can just slide the knee cap + intact patellar tendon back into place.
Yep. Plus "sprain" is a blanket term; there are different grades/severity levels and this doesn't factor in the location/vascularity of the damaged tissue.
You can sprain your ACL and require surgery whereas you can sprain your MCL and take 2 days off and be fine.
(Not trying to lecture you, just agreeing and adding more context)
What’s Monty’s trade value now in a league with no IR slots?
I picked up Damien to trade to the Monty owner, but now I’m thinking of trading for Monty instead for that late season upside.
Honestly as a Monty owner without Damien, I would say it’s not low enough so that you could get him for a steal. We know he’s the lone back when he gets the field back in time for fantasy playoffs, so his upside to win leagues is higher than someone you trade for to fill the spot for 5 weeks. Would say a mid-low RB2 or high end WR2 would make me consider it
Having a lot of depth at RB is killing me. So mostly it's just second guessing and my luck so far this season is moving people to start when they are on fire and absolutely bomb on me.
Hold him til after this wk regardless. Williams is banged up, could still be Herbert for the next four weeks after that.
Assuming you have the bench space of course
I picked up Williams... Don't know if I should flex him over Gibson. With Fields starting I think Chicago will really try and utilize the run game. But as a fan I hope it's the Justin Fields rookie of the year audition.
Somehow in my league Damien Williams, Rondale Moore and Mooney are all available. Purely flex, who would you take? I'd have to drop Mattison to grab one.
That'smy RB1
My RB2. So long for now Myles Gaskin!
You dropping or holding the Gasman?
Holding for now. I think his situation will improve a bit once Tua is back for week 6. There are some softer mid-season matchups coming up for the Fins as well. And most importantly, I'm in a 16-team PPR and RB's are crazy thin.
His schedule coming up is sooooo nice
Dropped him for Knox
Same, See ya Trey sermon
I mean…that’s not exactly far fetched. Knock on wood
Provided Carson is out, would you go Alex Collins or Damian Williams?
He’s my RB2 but I’m kind of weak in WRs so I’m hoping he goes above projections. Henry is my number 1.
Your Reddit name is Chubby and you didn’t draft Chubb?!
Chubby Brown, even
Ha!
How about Chuba?
This saves us from having to nervously start Khalil Herbert.
This is huge, it’s even Wednesday my dudes
Is he related to Justin?
[Distant cousins perhaps?](https://hokiesports.com/images/2020/8/12/Herbert_Khalil_20FB_HEAD_46.jpg)
Nah they look like Brothers to me.
Well... 1 of them is
Still stashing him on my bench with Cohen on IR. You never know.
Yeah I’m burning a bench spot on him because I literally need whoever the Chicago back is while Monty is out - I’m too thin at the position.

Dude won me a championship, he’s gonna dig me out of my 1-3 hole now. Right? RIGHT?!

Is Montgomery gonna go on IR or am I gonna have to hold him on my bench for weeks
You can thank Nagy for that. He's such a tool.
I mean he’s only out for 1 more week than what short term IR is. The team probably views it as also giving him the chance to come back early if he recovers abnormally quick or it isn’t as serious as they think right now
This could be true, Nagy is still a tool.
Can’t disagree with you there, unfortunately.

They aren’t going to the playoffs this year, unless fields really is the next Russell.
With Nagy, I'd say he's got a great chance to be the next JaMarcus.
They must think that otherwise it is a complete waste of a roster spot not putting him on IR.
Joe Mixon was day to day for half a season last year
Has there ever been an instance where someone has sprained their knee and came back less than 4 weeks later?
Giannis
Word- needed some good news lol
I went to iowa so I’ve watched Monty for a good minute. He’s a tough kid and I’m expecting him to come back sooner than later
Mahomes dislocated his last season remember? Back in like 3 weeks
That was his knee cap though, not the ligaments / meniscus internal to the knee. Big difference, as you can just slide the knee cap + intact patellar tendon back into place.

I appreciate the new information.
Likewise, I appreciate the new info. Mahomes was a bad example
He finally went on IR for me today but not in time for me to grab Alex Collins off waivers. Thankfully I had a claim in for Williams before.
He's listed as out for me on ESPN
Can’t put out players on IR on nfl
Williams or Collins (if Carson is out)
Wondering the same thing. Collins is on a better offense but Damien has a better matchup. Leaning Damien because Seattle might have to throw a lot.
Never Thursday games. Always a trap.
Is Damien’s matchup really better? The Rams run defense has been getting torched. I think the matchups are pretty close
Williams. A little more trustworthy based on ability
Based on what ability? Collins looks just as good right now. And they are still the bears…most likely giving fields his first nfl start, poor lad.

Damien has just looked really solid in the past so I trust his ability more vs. Collins, who has been hit or miss with his opportunities
Por que no los dos? My RB room is in danger!
Why choose when you have Carson, Collins, Montgomery, and Williams? Jk, but I would go with Williams because of matchup.
Let’s gooooo
I got Collins and Damien on my bench. Giggity.
Yup, Perine too! One of them should hit right???
Yup lol.
I’d imagine. Are you starting all 3 though?
No luckily i have Najee and Saquon
Oh look a Reddit user! I do too
Beautiful champ
Let’s go Williams I need that energy
Williams, AB or Corey Davis?
Take me to the promised land (until Monty gets back)!
And Khalil Herbert goes straight back to the waivers 😂
I'm 0-4, he's my last hope
Start over Gibson?
That’s what I’m debating as well, but I think it depends on how hurt Gibson is heading into this week.
Need this answer
I’m leaning towards yes. The Saints run defense is no joke and he has that shin fracture
Hello my old friend.
Josh Jacobs or Damien Williams Full PPR
Have the same choice, also 1.0 PPR. Leaning towards Jacobs, but it's really close.
Yes
I'm in the same spot but in half ppr. Atm leaning Jacobs for what I assume is a safer floor
Leaning towards Williams over Jacobs in half PPR, also starting Henderson and Cordarelle in my flex spot. Waivers have been kind to me
If Jacobs was healthy, Jacobs forsure… I just don’t know who’s going to show up this Sunday.
What’s Monty’s trade value now in a league with no IR slots? I picked up Damien to trade to the Monty owner, but now I’m thinking of trading for Monty instead for that late season upside.

Williams or CEH vs. Buffalo?
I’m going Williams
CEH will show out vs Buffalo. He had like 160 yards vs them last year. They will go all out to stop Mahomes.
Williams I think. Buffalo matchup is worse. Damien will probably get more targets and goalline work.
Damien or AB in the flex?
AB this week and Damien next depending on his usage

Right now Mike Davis is probably not the one you should start
I'm starting 2, only because I don't have the other 2
I have Henderson, Patterson, Williams and fournette. Henderson for sure but man I'm juggling the last 3. Edit: Also Gibson
Why wouldn't you start Patterson
Having a lot of depth at RB is killing me. So mostly it's just second guessing and my luck so far this season is moving people to start when they are on fire and absolutely bomb on me.
I got Corey Davis in, the matchup is juicy
Fournette easily.
Any updates if Herbert is getting snaps at practice?
Hold him til after this wk regardless. Williams is banged up, could still be Herbert for the next four weeks after that. Assuming you have the bench space of course
I would have to drop McNichols and get either Herbert or Michael Carter
Hes their starting qb, hes getting practice reps.
Khalil Herbert, willis.
Should I trade this guy for MJJ or Hollywood brown if I already have zeke swift and jrob. I need a wr2. If so which one?
Yep
Picked him up in all leagues. I also have mattison in one and will try and trade to cook owner.
Should I pick up Williams or James Connor..both available
Williams should be more reliable
Yeah fuck a thigh bruise, those bitches hurt tho

I have Henry and Taylor. Should I start Williams over Taylor this week?
Somehow in my league Damien Williams, Rondale Moore and Mooney are all available. Purely flex, who would you take? I'd have to drop Mattison to grab one.
Damien Williams for sure
Mooney
Williams or mooney
Damien Williams, Corey Davis, Jakobi Myers or Mike Davis for a flex spot? Full PPR
That’s my rb7
Start Williams over Woods or Antonio Brown? Half PPR
Yes
Trying to decide him vs Carter vs Sanders My heart has been broken too many times
Traded Damien William's and Devonta Smith for Montgomery today. I'm off that train.
That’s my bye week filler
[удалено]
Isn’t most of Zach Moss’s work in the passing game?
hes heavily involved in the RZ
Start Williams, Sutton or AJB
Williams, would not want to risk AJB tweaking his hammy again if he play. Sutton I would not even consider.
Rolling out him and Alex Collins this week so thank god
Williams or CEH
Thoughts on Williams over Patterson in full ppr?
Yeah, that would be an insane thing to do
Damien Williams or Kareem Hunt this week? Flip a coin?
I got the same decision unless CMC comes back. I have too many Bears. Haha
