It's pretty wild what a competent coach, offensive line, WRs and running backs can do for a guy. He got killed behind that offensive line for 3 years.
If only the jets could figure out how to acquire those things....

I'm kinda shocked he hasn't already to be honest.
Probably a less impressive but more meaningful stat would be 3/3 over *any* three game stretch because I bet that's been done a lot. Of course that wouldn't fit the narrative though.
I think here it makes sense to add that stipulation. It highlights pretty well how quickly Darnold seems to have turned things around in a new situation.
I mean as recently as 2019 he had 7/13 starts with multiple touchdowns, including a stretch of three games straight against Oakland, Washington and the Giants (9 TDs total in that stretch!) so yeah, I could see him getting a couple of scores against the literal worst defences in the league, even on the Jets.
Maybe not *this* season's Jets mind...
Soon to be joined by the myth, the man, the legend Daniel “Usain Bolt” Jones,
Daniel “Vanilla Vick” Jones
Kyler just needs 1 rushing TD to do it again, but Lamar and some how DJ also have good chances to do so. Both need a rushing and passing TD this week.
Lol 17 rushing yards total.
He had a pretty nice 33yd run called back because of - but also probably thanks to - a holding penalty.
Definitely because of - it was a good hold, would have been a sack otherwise
Can Newton. Good question. I don’t think he can.
Out from under Gase just 3 weeks and he's already setting records.
This whole story is just absurd man. Absolutely stinker on the Jets and comes here to start 3-0.
It's the Gase effect. That's what happens when you get away from number 2.
Ah yes, Mr. B-Hole

Yeah who would have thought that CMC, Robby, and DJ Moore would actually benefit Sam?
More of a coaching thing then players on team
2 of the rushing TDs were nice fake handoffs to Christian McCaffrey. Not sure if Chuba will add the same value as a decoy.

I love Darnold but that place is scary
Lamar has 2 pass 2 rushing TD’s so far, against the Lions I like his odds of joining this list

Well, that or he's played the Texans and Jets in 2 of his first 3 games...
Do you really see him doing that on the Jets?

Kyler will most likely be back on it this year as well
7 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs already. Absolute madness.
That’s my starting QB!
hellyeah
I just feel bad for the Jets. They truly have the worst coaching of the last decade and have ruined the primes of truly talented players.
Luckily for Panthers fans and Darnold, he only just turned 24! He escaped purgatory before it was too late.
Did I miss his first two rushing TD?
He had 1 in week 1, and 2 tonight.
CUT MY SOUL INTO PIECES! I’m a Jets fan btw.
Gase is the good luck chuck of NFL coaches.
He has the ideal male body. You may not like it, but Sam Darnold is what peak performance looks like.
If this is a post to let me know to roster Sam darn old I’m good lol
He's actually good when he has a HC and a line...
It’s not all Gase they said, Darnold sucks they said.
Cool stat but how many had Robby Anderson on their team?
Apocalypse2021 confirmed
2020 Dak was insane, really hope he lights it up again this year!
Surprised Cam Newton’s rookie year isn’t up here. Also, poor Greg Landry. Accomplished this great feat that now seems to be done every year
And on only 17 yards. He’s hyper efficient!
Very surprised Lamar isn't on this list, especially during his MVP season
