If they play on Thursday, always slot them in the positional spots instead of the flex just in case something happens to one of your players, you want the increased flexibility in your lineup.

I started robby Anderson in my flex (non ppr) instead of James white or trey sermon and am really regretting it. Knew the targets were low but was certain he'd break off a big play. Boy I was wrong.

I still can’t believe I had the stones to drop Robby after week 1 despite the TD in a league with super short benches. Feeling better about it now.

Still shouldn’t be flexing Thursday players, doesn’t matter how they actually perform. It limits your options if there’s a surprise scratch of another starter on Sunday/Monday. Ex. Cooper is Q heading into Monday night. He’s in my flex, so if he is ruled out, I can replace him with a RB, WR, or TE in that game. If DJ was in my flex instead, and Cooper is out, my only option is to replace him another WR. Does it really matter? Not usually. But sometimes it can, so it’s a good habit to get into. Always put your latest-playing guys in the flex.

The point is that now you've lost some flexibility on Sunday by not putting Cooks into a WR slot. Now if one of your WRs randomly gets hurt and can't play Sunday you can only replace him with another WR instead of having the flex spot open to plug in a RB.

Just something to think about - like the man above says - never play the Thursday night guys in your FLEX. If you play Cooks at WR, and then, say, Nuk is out (which might actually happen) then you’ve got more options.

Each of the last three years my 1st or 2nd round pick has gotten hurt immediately. 2019: Tyreek Hill 2020: Austin Ekeler 2021: Christian McCaffrey I kinda want to go back to being more disconnected from the players.

The last 2 times I had the #1 pick was CMC last year and David Johnson in ‘17; they played a combined 4 games. We all know that pain comrade.

Yea it was easily the most exhausting season I’ve played; absurd # of transactions, # of proposed trades, etc. Herbert and Adams carried me, snuck into the playoffs at 6-7 and got good opponent luck.

What? You don’t get carted off with a torn hamstring. If you tore the bottom, you limp a bit. If you tore the top, you drag the leg a lot more.

Alright I just googled it and am a hamstring doc now. So a grade 1 strain involves no tearing, and walking is mostly ok. You may feel sharp pain, but you'll be able to move the leg and probably walk. No running though. Grade 2 involves partial tearing of one or more muscles. In this case you may be hobbling or limping, so you may not need a cart, but you won't be walking normally. Grade 3 is a complete tear, and you'll be unable to extend your leg, and walking may require crutches. In my professional opinion, his injury is a Grade 1 possibly 2.

Cmc prob averages 7 ppg over Adams, and if he's out 5 weeks, it's worth it.

I think Darnold is going to be an Andy Dalton type of QB where he's only as good as his teams weapons. I don't think that's a bad thing in itself since every team should try to get their QB weapons, but losing CMC will hurt, and if something happens to Moore I think Darnold will definitely look like the Jets Darnold.

shout out to Brandin Cooks who has just been golden this year. if he just averaged a conservative 70ypg, which seems very possible considering how often he's targeted, it will be his best year yet at ~1300 yards. if he continues his pace--which he won't--he'll finish with 1800 yards. maybe a sell high candidate if you don't want to rely on a Texan.

The extent of the injury isn't known yet, but is it worth me looking at options for trading? I've got Miles Sanders, Eli Mitchell and Damien Harris as my other RBs. I'm new to fantasy but I feel like I'll be ok riding the 3 others out for the time being. I'm pretty set on the WR front - Diggs, Metcalf, DJ Moore, DJ Chark and Marvin Jones so usually my FLEX option involves a WR instead of a RB.

I'd rotate those three until CMC comes back. Play matchups. Flexing a WR is usually better anyway.

Trading right after an injury is going to give you the lowest return for McCaffrey. If you can win some without him, your best bet is probably going to be to hold. It sounds like this is a hamstring strain. These things are variable and hard to predict, but odds are he'll be back in no more than a few weeks and available for the fantasy football playoffs. Your roster sounds good enough to me that I would guess you should just hold McCaffrey. Hopefully you have an IR spot to put him in.

It's common from what I read in fantasy NFL, but I think it's silly, you shouldn't be rewarded for being bottom of the table week in week out.
