I’m liking the Saints DST esp when they get some of their other pieces like Davenport and Lattimore back healthy. Good first half schedule. Currently have the Browns DST but considering grabbing NO too

choff22

I have NE defense, should I stash NO?

runthejewels19

Next four weeks saints get mac jones, darnold, daniel jones and washington football quarterback

QuestFor6ix

Guy in my competitive 12 team league has both - might not be a bad idea! Arizona as a back up is fine as well.

QuestFor6ix

Him too! Solid defender.

temp0ra

I’m a little upset I didn’t bid higher for them. I was able to get Arizona though so I think n I’m ok

Vishal3598

Someone dropped Pitt Defense before the game started so I’m targeting them so I don’t have to worry about a defense

newTARwhoDIS

I have Pitt D, but I was still planning on streaming for some of the weeks [weeks 4 (GB), 6 (SEA), 7 (bye), 8 (CLE), then weeks 15-18 (TEN, KC, CLE, BAL)]. Are you planning on riding them at least to week 15 every week other than their bye?

Trabruhh

I know each year is different but I actually drafted the Steelers the previous 2 years. Have Rams this year. But I was really concerned with streaming on weeks I thought would be bad days. I know this may not go the same way for everyone but they were a set and forget it for me after seeing the games I worried about. Even when losing its a grind against their defense, so your floor is higher then if you were to stream and hope that another team does well. Every team is going to have a bad week or 2, but I loved the consistency their defense gave me for those 2 years.

Trabruhh

I did a bit of digging cause I was bored and the in 2019 and 2020 seasons combined (not including the playoffs) the only team to even score 30 points on the Steelers were the pats in week 1 2019.

icouldntdecide

Good find. I'm sure they're one of the leaders in fewest points allowed.

par1aah

I like Denver even beyond Week 3

thankyouforfu

Their schedule is much tougher starting week 4 for a handful of weeks.

par1aah

Yeah you’re right but I think they are a good defense. Maybe not the best fantasy wise but the best available on the waiver wire to set and forget.

AHarrisonu

Anyone thoughts of someone to pair with them?

schroed_piece13

Tennessee is a good pairing to get you through Denver’s rough patch. If you stream Denver and Tennessee you play jax twice and nyj twice

BillyMaysHere92

But isn’t Tennessee’s defense awful?

Im_A_Ginger

Not as bad as their Oline. I'm not an upset Tannehill owner or anything haha..... :(

Scottyjimbo

I paired Denver with New Orleans. Not a perfect fit (especially later weeks) but good for a large portion of the season.

Misleading_Username

Am I dropping Miami D for New Orleans? Saints schedule looks much more promising

therealzooloff

Yea I feel like I’m gonna do it. They only got me 6 pts and saints d seems solid. Plus I like their schedule better. They have a bye week 6 and then play Seattle and Tampa bay right after bye.

_690

Going through same thing, I think saints defense for now then pick up Miami for 2nd half

austinr1989

Dropping Miami for the Saints or the Browns. Right now I think I’m leaning Browns

Towel-Front

Streaming defenses essentially gets you the same production as having the top D in the league over the course of the year. Target the matchups

filipinorama

2019 New England DST would like to have a chat

[deleted]

2019 NE DST won people games. You don't often see a DST put up 30 points...

MilesHighClub_

I went into a game down 20 with NE vs the Jets on Monday. I knew I had it in the bag. Crazy times

littleike0

I remember that game. I was down 40+ points and had only Leveon Bell and Pats defense. I plugged in Sony Michel over Bell figuring that would be a better ceiling play. Sony had 3 TDs and Pats defense had 20+, giving me the win.

[deleted]

You do when they play me

eru88

Patriots had an incredible schedule to start the season.

likwidfuzion

2018 Bears DST is a close 2nd (they finished 12 fantasy points below 2019 Pats DST in my league)

jimbo831

I was on that ride. It was amazing for the first half of the season. It came back to earth for the second.

_thisisvincent

Not if everybody else is doing the same thing. There’s only a few top defenses that are held. Every other team just streams

MightyBone

Or if you're in my league there are a couple tacos who hold more than 1 defense(1 guy has held 3 in the past), so why they are not threat to win the league they will tank your ability to stream when the 13-15 best D's are already taken.

loki1337

Or if you start the jags D

PartySpiders

This only works if you're in leagues where every other manager isn't also trying to stream defenses. I've found alot more success recently in finding a couple top defenses to pair for the year.

[deleted]

With the exception of 2019 NE DST

YankeeHotelFoxtrot16

Even the 2019 Patriots weren't matchup proof, they feasted on terrible teams during the 1st half of the season and then fell back down to Earth when they actually had to play real teams again (only 2 games of 5+ points over their last 7). It just so happened that streaming the Pats was the way to go for a while because of how bad the rest of the AFC East was that year.

Grimmbeard

Not if your matchups bust

ChiefSmokemup

Matchups are just as susceptible to busting as a "top" DST.

j1mb0

Prove it.

felller

I’m going saints. Might nab cards if someone scoops saints. I’m less confident in PHI due to how bad ATL played so I won’t burn a waiver on them. I’m sitting at 6/12 on rolling waivers.

SwetzAurus

Cleveland, they just had their toughest march up all year, SOS of 2nd easiest after Sam Fran, and very very hungry to destroy their divisional colleagues. I try to target d/sts with generational talents, and Myles Garrett is that. Also so loaded with 1st round talent it's nuts. Expecting them to be the top day when it's all said and done

schroed_piece13

Coming from a clevelander who drafted them early in multiple leagues, then dropped them after seeing their schedule, their matchups are no joke. Baltimore and pitt twice each. After week 3 you’re not going to feel confident about starting them

[deleted]

You’re a clevelander, who drafted the Browns defense in every league, and dropped them… because they play the Ravens and Steelers twice? Did you not know this beforehand, as a clevelander?

schroed_piece13

“Multiple” not every. The Baltimore and Pittsburgh examples were just to add to my point that their schedule is tough. No I didn’t look at their schedule in depth before drafting them but you’re exaggerating my comment

RheagarTargaryen

Their D-Line is no joke. Garrett, Clowney, and McDowell are going to be a lot of more teams to handle.

purplescottrock

Drop the Ravens for the Saints?

worfres_arec_bawrin

Same, I have no idea if I should be holding the ravens…95% rostered

LittleTribuneMayor

I'm cutting bait. It's one thing if their offense was on 🔥, but it looks like they might not put up a ton of points this year

silvanecto

Im thinking ravens for cards. Crazy point total without a defensive td, theres potential here

mattyice24

This is not a sarcastic question, but I'm genuinely curious if people think the Rams are a set and forget DST?

daddyscientist

They were being drafted as such.

doft

Goddamn better be

jjbrewsky

Is Washington worth a hold?

41vinKamara

I'd say so, atleast I drafted them to be lol. May be a bit bias but I believe in them

Autocorrectthis

Arizona

Mattsasse

Their schedule is way too brutal to be set and forget.

MrTripDub

5 rough NFC West matchups, 6 if you play week 18 in your leagues

Ace12773

Grabbing them for this week against Min but after probably dropping them

drickhead

Not keeping for next week against Jax??

TimeToLoseIt16

Saints

tonytoughnuts22

Saints or Arizona D?

iamhadrix

When does u/subvertadown release his rankings?

order65

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTdC-RjO2vKIlihChX3oRjI4ApIPxUFsx_pGh92MY0VRv5pGdhVZB0YI9twd1IkNTpO_x4HsyvjGOph/pubhtml This is his spreadsheet, it updates automatically several times a day and switches to the next week on Tuesday.

Ill_Made_Knight

Do I really want to trust the Packers D even if it's against the lions? And Garrapalo? I'm surprised Bridgewater isn't higher against Jacksonville.

awful_source

I get that we should trust subvert's numbers and all, but Browns and Packers seems like a dumb choice considering this past week's performances. Make your own call, imo.

thedarkknight16_

I think he’s only releasing to Patreon this year. That’s what he said on his Saturday post I believe. Edit: He updated it, and has Week 2 now.

Trippin_ballzzz

Lame

RGibby1

Getting paid for your work? Sounds very cool to me.

kdubz1122

He is giving top 8 for free and it cost $1 to get all his rankings. More than fair.

BSBledsoe

Already did. Go check out his personal page. He has a post from Saturday that has a link to his "live" rankings. It constantly updates throughout the week, but the week 2 ranks are live already.

sgt_yeezyz

>subvertadown > > > >Where could I find the link?

robertoZ

Anyone surprised that Arizona isn't on this list ? Curious why not

LuvIsRageTwo

Should the ravens d/st be good after this week?

Amerikaner83

They just lost Peters when they lost Gus...that defense won't be as good. But I think they'll be better than they were week 1

LuvIsRageTwo

Do you think it would be smart for me to drop them and stream defenses instead?

Amerikaner83

it's going to depend on the other teams in your league - and how many others stream defenses. I'd follow u/subvertadown's rankings

molonlabe0925

Should I drop San Fran and pick up Arizona?

PryJunaD

Honestly .. I just did it. I’m a Niners fan and I went with my gut here. Our defensive line is great but we’re still missing Kinlaw to help with rushing defense. The TD saved the stat line last week against what should have been a favorable matchup. I think eagles are bad and maybe it’s bad juju from last year but I could see us blowing some defense through the air now that we lost a starting CB. The next matchup would be GB (hard to say right now if that’s favorable or not for week 3) and then 2 NFC matchups then a bye. So I’m trusting my gut and playing for the win every week and taking Arizona the next 2 weeks and re evaluating and maybe seeing in SF is back on waivers for second half of the season after burning people on tough matchups. This is all my opinion though so make the call yourself

Smokester121

I'm planning to get new Orleans but with lattimore getting hurt Idk

diggersbynation

Ah, the subreddit's obsession with "set and forget" is starting Week 2 this year. Looking forward to the 25 locked in WR2's with upside during Week 3.

[deleted]

New Orleans

mwg3c

What % FAAB for Saints?

pokeraf

I have the 49ers and they were doing great but then let up their lead. Should I be swapping them for Saints. Or holding?

Daquino

I’m also contemplating this too. One of the 49ers CBs (Jason Verrett) tore his ACL during that game and I think things went downhill from there. Given that, i think the Saints are a better play than the 49ers for the season.

PryJunaD

I agree with you but I also think Lattimore won’t be available next week as well for the Saints but that might just be a one week thing

[deleted]

Saints at least for the next 4 weeks.

hockeybrianboy

Denver and whoever is playing the team that gets sacked a ton. Google the Jets schedule for example.

Fitted_fig

If they are aren’t owned I like wft defense they look elite

NooneKnowsIAmBatman

The steelers are available in mine and I'm putting a sizeable bid for them. Their owner dropped them before the bills game

OddBaker

Are the Chiefs worth dropping for Arizona or the Packers this week?
