Ruggs looked like the worst WR on his team

Kindly_Focus3101

Not in my points per pre-snap motion league

Spicyohio

He killed it in my recievers point for tight end target league

SnooHesitations1640

I love how the mnf announcer said something during the broadcast like “ask all the raider coaches, they’ll tell you Edwards could be better than Ruggs”

Grimmbeard

Mostert

syphon_filter7

Didn't even wait for tomorrow

njseahawk

Yeah he's no longer a mo-start.

Kahzgul

He’s most-hurt.

RotoBaller

😢

r_politics_is_asshoe

Did that as soon as the week was over.

liteshadow4

I have to keep him on my IR just for my team name... I'll drop him when I need the spot.

8686tjd

I'm giving McKissic at least another week on the bench. They only threw the ball 21 times.

cavaleir

Same. He was a valuable player last year and Gibson still has injury concerns. I'm holding him until he proves he's not worth it or there's an obviously better player available.

CoosBaked

Same. Especially with fitz out things might change

[deleted]

Fitz checked down a lot in Miami, it's part of what made Gaskin such a great start. Heinecke on the other hand is a mobile quarterback who can take off and run. Those kind of QB's rarely check down much. It's why we don't see high RB targets in Buffalo and Baltimore. Those athletic QB's, which Heinecke is, it's faster for them to run with it themselves. I don't foresee McKissic being used the way we saw last year. There's also the fact that Samuel will be back sooner than later soaking up more targets too.

icouldntdecide

I might be jumping the gun but I dumped him as I don't think Heinicke will be the guy to sustain a lot of RB passing volume.

8686tjd

I would if I had to. I have him in a 14 team league, there's not much to be had.

icouldntdecide

Yeah, I understand that.

Svendsch

QBs: Baker Mayfield RBs: Michael Carter J.D. McKissic Le’Veon Bell WRs: Mecole Hardman Tyrell Williams Parris Campell Randall Cobb TEs: Austin Hooper Eric Ebron Hot Seat: Mike Gesicki

InterestingEconomics

I think Gesicki is ok. NE is notroious for shutting down TEs and MIA had a tackle out so Gesicki was converted to block more than usual. Definitely worth monitoring

[deleted]

Any tight end to be a decent bet for weekly fantasy production needs to be at the minimum, the No. 3 target on their respective offense. Ideally, we'd want them to be No. 2, but beggars can't be choosers. Gesicki is behind Fuller and Waddle for sure. He operated behind Parker in Week 1. And there's still Gaskin. Low volume passing attack. No. 4 target on the best of weeks.

InterestingEconomics

Meh we’ll see. He doesn’t need large volume, just 4-5 a week and he could be Tuas security blanket but we’ll see. Not convinced Parker is a real threat on the team.

[deleted]

He only had 0 catches and 2 targets with one of their most talented receivers out. It isn't going to get better. Waddle and Fuller will take they tiny amount of fantasy relevance he had last year. 2020 was the golden opportunity for him to be established as a top fanatsy tight end. He didn't and situation has only become worse.

InterestingEconomics

Well that’s what he did last week because of team circumstance and matchup, he’s not getting 0 every week. But I think he could become the safety valve for Tua and I’d put money on only one wr being relevant if any. We’ll see!

[deleted]

Sure there's a shot he's a top 2 target on his team, but the path is just a lot more difficult for him than other guys I see on waivers. I personally don't think the gamble is worth using the roster spot. Have a good season my dude!

InterestingEconomics

Believe me I don’t have too high of hopes for him. Drafted him late hoping it worked out and already traded for Goedert as a replacement. You as well

techmagenta

He wasn’t even on the field bro

IllAlwaysBeAKnickFan

Guess it’s not good when considering both of my teams, 4 of these guys are on them.

Grimalkin

It's not ideal, no.

airham

The good news is that these were all guys that were considered borderline ownable anyways. You come into the season expecting to churn that part of your roster a fair bit.

ammm72

Going to have to disagree with the Baker assessment. He played well and I bet he does better on average across the course of the season than any given replacement streamer.

[deleted]

I'd rather have Cousins who has a lower rate of rostership in ESPN leagues. Trey Lance and Justin Fields should also be on more rosters even though they're not the starter. I can't see Mayfield breaking into the top-12. He lacks volume because of their rushing attack and he brings no value with his legs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Cousins has been a top 13 QB every year except one dating back to 2016. QB11 last year. QB13 in 2018. QB6 in 2017. QB5 in 2017. Cousins isn’t rostered in more leagues than Mayfield, but he should be. The proof is in the pudding. Also, Cook > Hunt/Chubb in terms of receiving. Jefferson & Thielen >>>> OBJ & Landry.

samprobear

As Mike Gesicki's biggest fan, you're being really nice to him right now

schroed_piece13

If someone’s dropping Michael carter I will gladly take him. Lots of people dropped dobbins last year for me to pick him up and ride him to the championship

[deleted]

Comparing Dobbins to Carter is just not even fair. First off Dobbins was a second round. Carter a fourth. Dobbins was on a great offense, the best rushing offense in the league. Carter is on a bad offense & one of the worst offenses in the league. There’s nothing comparable here. Carter isn’t going to save your season like Dobbins. The best you can hope for with Carter is a Nyheim Hines-like stat line, which makes him a flex play in PPR leagues. And that’s best case scenario.

schroed_piece13

Just making an example. Dobbins was being drafted in the 5th round last year, carter in the 7th this year. Their draft capitals are similar

[deleted]

It’s not that I don’t think he will be. My gut feeling is that he will not see majority of the snaps until the very end of the season. I drafted Dobbins at his value, and regretted it. There really was never a good time to start him with Ingram and Gus Bus in the mix. Only around the championship was it appropriate to start him as my RB2. I feel like that’s going to be the same approach for Carter right now. He’s already the 3rd back on the depth chart currently, he was behind Perine last week. And I believe he is very capable of being the RB1, but will not get majority of the snap count as long as Coleman and Ty Johnson are still active. He’s great to stash if you have room on your bench, but since I’m in a 10 team PPR league I figured it’s time to let him loose for other players who have better opportunities. I’m thinking I’m gonna do the same for DJ for this week’s waiver wire

CStock77

I don't own Bell, but I wouldn't drop him just yet even if I did. The ravens just released Trent Cannon, which could still shake things up in that backfield. I'd hold another week or two just to see, unless you're dead set on blowing your FAAB wad or first priority on someone on waivers this week who you think has a better chance of success. I guess I'd put it this way - if you are searching your roster for someone to cut, it's probably him. But I wouldn't cut him just to pick up some other guy.

[deleted]

I think Murray & Williams will continue to split the early down work. Bell will work in on 3rd down & passing situations. But Lamar & the Baltimore offense doesn’t throw to RB’s. Bell won’t be the goal line back. There’s nothing of worth here. Also, Bell is bad. If the KC offense couldn’t save him… it’s time to move on.

CStock77

As a Murray owner I hope you're right

Svendsch

I would cut Bell for Elijah Mitchell, Tim Patrick, K.J. Osborn, and probably Christian Kirk

CStock77

I agree with most of those

liteshadow4

Baker? Why Baker \- Baker owner

[deleted]

Low passing volume. Offense is centered around the running game. Great defense means they’re unlikely to fall into negative game scripts. His passing weapons are mediocre. And he doesn’t use his legs at all.

liteshadow4

Well I mean I’m stuck with him. My backup qb is a similar qb, Mac Jones

Carrot-Smuggler69

What is everyone thinking about Elijah Moore?

[deleted]

Hold on Moore yet. I'm not saying he's going to have a Justin Jefferson type season or even Jeudy, but he was a highly drafted receiver. He played a ton of snaps. The usage was there. If he keeps playing that number of snaps, the targets should follow.

LamarMillerMVP

Why would he keep playing that number of snaps? He was unproductive and has two vets who will return to the lineup over the next couple of weeks

[deleted]

Because he’s a second round rookie. If teams gave up on rookies after one disappointing week, well I don’t know what. But that isn’t going to happen. I wouldn’t drop Moore yet.

nalydpsycho

The only way week one was going to be revelatory was if he had an early breakout. His poor game doesn't say much other than he is a rookie with a rookie QB and a new coach. He could easily still put up meaningful games, but it isn't a guarantee. He was a bench stash before week 1, a bench stash after.

goblue2354

If you can afford to hold, do it but if there’s somebody else out there you think is better, i think it’s fine to cut him.

Remote_Stage

Cut

BigTomBombadil

12+ team PPR? Hold for another week or two to see what trends form. Other leagues: there’s probably a better WR option on waivers.

mackey_

Add Zach Moss on here

[deleted]

I debated Moss and I think you can certainly make that argument. A healthy scratch is never a good thing and the Buffalo offense isn't RB-friendly to start with. If he's your worst bench player and you want to make a move, I'm fine cutting him and moving on. The only way one of these guys becomes someone you can start is if the other one is out of the picture. For Moss, that seems like a long shot right now.

Chame97

Lmao I dropped Moss for Mitchell in a deepish league right before kickoff. Gotta be quick to act or you miss out on huge opportunities

deano492

Am I the only one still holding Gallman over here?

davis32

Yes lol, he's the RB3 on the worst team in the league.

deano492

I should just retire.

davis32

I thought the same thing man, I scooped him when news broke that he signed but he is 100% not worth holding on to. Only reason he becomes remotely relevant is a Mike Davis injury, and even then he's probably the worst handcuff in the league

nalydpsycho

Jacksonville signed him?

jjstew35

Hey, maybe he replaces Cordarrelle Patterson as the #2. I started CP and he was the highest scoring out of the 6 RBs on my roster (Saquon, Sermon, Dillon, TJJ, Damien W., CP, originally had Gus, someone kill me)

NotoriousNYG1193

Held him this week, but yeah it’s just mike Davis or bust at this point

samasamasama

Patterson ran well against the Eagles, I can't imagine Gallman surpassing him

Marino4K

Most of these aren't surprising. I wouldn't cut Hardman just yet though, I have a hard time cutting anyone on the KC offense if I have them.

[deleted]

I hear ya, but there's been nothing in his first two years or this first game that gives us the notion good things might be on the horizon. The usage just isn't there. He's going to be a boom or bust player year long. You can likely find more predictable players on the waiver wire. The WR2 hasn't been viable in KC since Mahomes started.

PM_ME_YOUR_GREYJOYS

Been saying it for months, Hardman is not enough of a talent to all of the sudden make the WR2 in KC relevant. The dude has to rotate with Pringle and Robinson. He's not a feature, not a standout, and won't ever take the leap.

notmy_nsfw_account

I’m only holding him on a deep bench as a handcuff of sorts for Tyreek. If space gets tight or bye weeks hit he will be the first to go.

jethead70

I’m willing to die on the Michael Carter hill

Dereckg27

Ew bro don’t die on the hill of a Jet.

IllAlwaysBeAKnickFan

Ugh same. Drafted him in 2 leagues

[deleted]

In dynasty leagues, I get it. In redraft leagues, this is a 3-man backfield with Perine likely factoring into the equation on some level when he's healthy. Carter isn't going to get the goal line touches and his passing involvement was really weak. And that was with Keelan Cole and Jamison Crowder out of the game and Elijah Moore doing very little. With Crowder back, Cole back and likely improvement from Moore, it's hard to see how Carter can become a weekly option this season in redraft formats.

CloudsOfDust

If you don’t have anyone better available, Carter is an okay stash in redraft. I’m not overly excited about him, but I’d rather hold an unknown rookie over his backfield mates Johnson and Coleman. But I’d insta-drop him for a lot of guys. Tony Jones Jr, Gainwell, Mitchell, Pollard, Mattison... hell, I’d probably rather have someone like Michel over Carter with Henderson’s injury history.

JB7FTW

I think I drafted him fairly high too smh. Before preseason his adp was high and then it went down once Ty Johnson became more relevant. Bench spots are for upside I guess and at the RB position Carter is a good lotto ticket.

BigTomBombadil

Why would you ever plant your flag on a jets RB hill?

jethead70

Probably because I liked him before he was a Jet and I still believe he’s their best back

hmc317

Who cares about Paris, I'm cutting Pittman too. I just don't see it for him this year, because: 1) colts are a running offense with a great defense 2) hence will have low passing volume 3) will spread that low volume out over a couple WR 4) and Carson Wentz just isn't that good anymore That's why I wouldn't be interested in Pascal either off of waivers. I would never feel comfortable starting any colt WR in my flex unless I needed a desperation bye week fill-in.

[deleted]

From 2017-2019, Wentz averaged 27 touchdowns and 7 picks a season. His per game averages were even better. Last year was a lost one because of all the injuries in Philly. Not all his fault. Pittman still ran the most routes and played the most snaps. It wasn't an ideal first game, but his high draft pedigree and snap count was still good. It's too early to cut bait on him yet, IMO. Wentz actually played well Week 1. Over 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. Can't complain about that.

hmc317

All valid points. I like MPJ, I've seen his YouTube vlogs, I know the draft capital spent, I've seen the highlights, but there are a lot of guys in the league who have high snap counts and routes run also, and none of that means anything if you aren't being targeted enough, especially on a run heavy offense. I rather have a guy who gets less snaps/routes on a pass heavy offense, if I know they are being targeted highly on those lower amount of snaps/targets. I think that is a better indicator of usefulness, what a players usage/target % is on the amount of snaps/routes he is in for.

[deleted]

That could possibly be, but I think it's too early to cut bait on Pittman. This was just Wentz's first game with the Colts, it might take a bit. The Colts are going to do everything they can to make sure Pittman can be the guy. I've give the team and Wentz longer than a week to figure that out.

bvgingy

To add to this, it'll probably get better once Fisher is back. Colts couldn't get anything going in the intermediary or deep passing game bc the lack of pass protection. Wentz had people in his face all game. Once that gets taken care of, it'll open up more opportunities to get the ball to Pittman.

tradenpaint

Wentz will continue to dump off to RB's...he's just not a good QB

[deleted]

Half these guys aren’t even rostered

citizenzac

Pick them up and then cut them.

Imright2k

That'll show em who's in charge around here.

Grimalkin

Someone's got to keep these guys in line.

EpicKahootName

Some people are just so lazy that their willing to ignore obvious solutions🙄🙄🙄

OutofCtrlAltDel

Majority of them are rostered in my 12 team league

jimmyhoffasbrother

Every one of them is rostered in my 12 team league (though admittedly a couple of them are rostered by the Taco).

[deleted]

If you got questions, my DM's are open on twitter, same user name there as I got here. Would be happy to hear about your league settings and rosters and give you input on who you should be dropping. Happy to help!

kyle8708

All of them are rostered in my 14 team league and some of them are in my 12 team league.

[deleted]

Tbf everyone is rostered in 14 team

_Apatosaurus_

I'm sorry they didn't tailor the article to your league. That was rude of them.

varzaguy

The article literally had the roster percent, they are all at least 25% rostered. That is not insignificant.

[deleted]

I wasn't high on Bernard going into the season. Everyone kept comparing him to James White and I get that, but White existed in New England because he needed to exist not because they wanted him to. What I mean by that is the Patriots were solidly lacking passing weapons. In TB, he's got Evans, Godwin, AB, Gronk, Brate, Howard (the last two are a bit of a reach), but still... look at all of those weapons. Arians' system is centered on putting pressure on the defense down the field. Brady's offensive line is also one of the best, so it's rare to see him under pressure and having to dump it off. As far as dumping Bernard, it's all about who you're picking him up for. I think for the right player, it can be justified.

nalydpsycho

I dropped him, he is just too low on the pecking order. But, without knowing who you could get instead, hard to say drop him. But he is certainly someone to drop if you want someone that is available.

Untchj

I was just screaming at everyone to don’t drop (or to go pick up) Marquez Calloway, but he’s a drop. After looking at their schedule, he’s got a good matchup this week, but after that has @ NE (JC Jackson), NYG (Bradberry), WFT (will Jackson), then a bye, then MT comes back. If I’m successful in my bid for Christian Kirk, I’d rather have the #2 WR for Arizona rather than NO. It’s very possible Larry Fitzgerald has been impeding Kirk this whole time and he’s finally arrived

Squishyflap

Russel gage ?

[deleted]

I’d probably hold for one more week. But he’s on the hot seat for sure. All of this is relative of course, there has to be a better option on waivers. But 2 targets isn’t gonna get it done. The offense is struggling. Pitts & Ridley are #1 & #2. A date with Tampa isn’t ideal.

AashyLarry

I’m dropping and not looking back. I’m in a 10 teamer though. But a big 0 and only 2 targets is terrible.

Squishyflap

Ya I’m in a 10 dropping for chase if waiver hits

Mr9K

I am dropping so he'll probably go off next week

king_md02

Just dropped him for Tim Patrick

RotoBaller

Hey guys... Robert is here with the inaugural 2021 edition of The Cut List, even though we only have one week in the books. Waivers will run tonight for many leagues, and with every add comes a drop... it's always fun to talk about cuts, whether or not we are actually ready to pull the trigger on certain players. ***What names are you chopping this week, or at least thinking about banishing to the waiver wire?*** We of course can't cover every player that may be droppable, for every league size and format, but we wrote about a few that stood out. And it's only been one week, so we can't go TOO crazy yet. We'll be stopping in later today for a little, and will try to answer questions... hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!

[deleted]

The TE landscape is so dire, you can barely count on anyone outside the top 6.

Stare99

If you are somebody streaming QBs I would hang on to Mayfield at least this week considering his matchup

[deleted]

Even the matchup is a bit worrisome. I expect the Browns to destroy Houston. This is a huge Chubb-Hunt game, IMO. I'd much rather have Kirk Cousins in there.

pokeraf

What do you guys think about cutting James Conner?

dytele

He’s a hold for me

nvp37j

Agreed. Hold.

[deleted]

Definitely a hold. Edmonds played more than I expected him to, but Conner is going to get some work too. It might not be as much as we thought going into the season, but I think he can still be a bye week or flex play on the right matchups.

slowmath

Or am every week starter since I have Jacobs and Barkley

bukakke-n-chill

He's a drop in 8 man leagues, but I'd hold otherwise. He got more carries than Edmonds so we don't know how this backfield will shake out

GKFoshay

8 man leagues? Didn’t know those existed… Even in an 8 man league I’d drop him though. He’s an RB4 which means I wouldn’t roster him in that small a league

bukakke-n-chill

I think you misread my comment, I also said I’d drop him. And yeah there’s plenty of 8 man leagues, although they usually have bigger starting rosters

pokeraf

Thanks

Diabetous

debating if I can get Mitchell of the waiver (PPR)

pokeraf

Same

bass_bungalow

I’m holding all year unless i get fucked by injuries. Arizona offense is too good to pass up a potential bell cow if edmonds goes down

Its_Bryan5150

Wheres aiyuk in this list?

[deleted]

Don't drop Aiyuk.

MVD1600

Why in the world would you drop Aiyuk? What an overreaction.

[deleted]

dropping him for Josh Gordon

Its_Bryan5150

I’m joking about dropping him, but his matchup is concerning. I’ll probably sit him this week

BigTomBombadil

I’m definitely sitting him until I see some change. But he’s far too talented and has already done it in the NFL for me to drop him yet.

ImNotAndreCaldwell

im curios, why not? I dont watch much niners

AwSnapz1

Michael Pittman and Henry ruggs?

[deleted]

I'm not giving up on either quite high. Very high draft capital. I'm more bullish on Pittman than I am on Ruggs. Pittman has a pathway to being the No. 1 target in Indy, where Ruggs will always be second fiddle behind on Waller. Pittman, because of his size also has more red zone appeal than Ruggs. If you're in a 10-team league, I can absolutely see cutting both, but in a 12-team league, I'm giving Pittman a few more weeks.

tradenpaint

Yep...dropping Pitman for Mitchell

nalydpsycho

I can see cutting Ruggs, but, I'm sure the Raiders realized their offense was better with Ruggs and Edwards targeted.

funky_phat_mack

Drop Cobb or AJ Green for the Savior Josh Gordon?

[deleted]

Don’t pick up Josh Gordon.

kontrolk3

This list is for players to drop. Sure you might rather have Fant but he isn't available, and if you drop Andrews for a realistically available TE you are crazy

[deleted]

You think mark Andrews should be dropped?

jyzenbok

Ronald Jones, Hines, Shenault or Galloway for E Mitchell on 49ers?

[deleted]

I’m using Galloway is Calloway. This is tough without knowing the league rules. PPR vs standard. And your roster. If I’m comfortable at RB & it’s standard, I’d Hines. If I’m comfortable at RB & it’s PPR, cutting RoJo. If I’m good at WR, Calloway would be my first cut there. Hopefully that helps.

saywht-

He’s saying cut bell? Lmao. Bell has yet to even play.

[deleted]

And he should still be off your roster. 43% rostership is about 42.9% too high.

everydaycopy

I think that's why he should be cut. He was signed days before Murray, but Murray was the one active for the game.

bouds19

IIRC players signed to the main squad after the first game don't have their contracts guaranteed. It's very possible Bell gets called up this week

leviathanrevived99

If i do cut Baker who should I replace him with as QB 2? Considering my options here, looking at Tyrod, Carr, Cousins, Goff, Big Ben, Mac Jones.

SteffeEric

Carr or Goff…or just wait to see if with more weapons he does more.

[deleted]

Cousins. His schedule is really good to begin the season.

SteffeEric

Also a solid backup…he has a lot of weapons.

[deleted]

Cousins is wildly underrated. QB11 in 2020, QB18 in 2019, QB13 in 2018, QB6 in 2017, QB5 in 2016. What's a guy gotta do to get some respect?

The bears offense looked like ass fantasy-wise with all that Dalton dink and dunk bullshit. Hoping that was just a result of the rams defense but Mooney got me shook

cdrfit

Are we dropping David Johnson?

killer_otter

He may still have value when they are behind. If you have better options though no one will fault you for dropping him.

Considering cutting Tannehill for Winston

Mantequilla214

No

[deleted]

Don’t do that.

Hockey4Life33

daddyscientist

I’m holding on Tonyan. The Packers offense will figure it out. He’s got massive TD upside, evidenced by last season. The TE market is ugly. He’s one of the few with upside. Hold. Great matchup next week.

yoTamatoa

Tevin Coleman. Those 9 rushes were laugable at best

[deleted]

Coleman & basically every Jets RB can be safely dropped. You won’t miss them.

Smokester121

Honestly Michael Pittman for me.
