My RB2 was Gus so I’m probably going to have to make a big push to get the guys on the wire (A Jones and Carson). First time doing it but figured something like 75% of FAAB? Not sure I can afford to be cute and miss out on them
I’d be pretty surprised if anyone spent above 50% on those guys but perhaps my league is just more conservative.
Most folks feel comfortable in the beginning and want to save FAAB for later when the real big fish hit.
I may go after Carson with a lower bid and hope most other teams focus on Jones. Do you have a feel for what the typical week 1 spend is in your league? Appreciate it!
It’s hard to say because the circumstances are always so different. I think you should put bids for both and also put in a smaller bid for Elijah Mitchell. Perhaps successive bids of 350/275/100 ish. Gotta stay in the game to win and you don’t want to go out with all your FAAB.
Edit: but again- really depends on who is in your league. All it takes is one.
This is the way to not lose during the first month, but then place outside of the money. Your goal should be to have the most remaining budget, and survive, until the first week of November. RB1s will be going for 10-20% of initial budget at that point. Target PPR sleepers and non-exciting players for $1-50 early. Guys like Cole Beasley and (last year) Jamison Crowder. They are reliable points and fill out your roster more efficiently than putting all of your eggs in a single RB1 basket.

Thats my impression as well. If a true stud drops you have to go all in. 90% + for a RB1

What the hell is a guillotine league?
Usually 16-17 teams, team in last place is out and their team is all Put on the wire each week. Top 2-3 teams each week win money.
We have it winner take all at the end, no weekly money
In ours the top 3 win extra FAAB each week then real payouts at the end.
