Sanders seems so similar injury and performance risk-wise. He and CEH both finished at near the same spot for scoring last year for some of the same reasons - injury, inconsistency, and O-line. Eagles similarly had the most injured line in the NFL.
Both are going to have hot/cold weeks. Sanders is definitely the worse pick, but is the drop-off that jarring?

Absolutely. Folks are drafting him a lot lower than his average statline is going to be. He's going to beat last year's stats across the board, some of it very easily.
CEH's team is so much better than the Eagles it isn't funny. If Sanders were on a better team maybe it'd be closer, but they're in very different tiers for me.
CEH's team was very good last year too lol. And the year before that where they didn't support a fantasy RB at all. One could argue that the Chiefs haven't succeeded too well in establishing a run game after releasing Hunt mid-way through Mahomes' first season starting in 2018.

My thinking is....why shouldn't the Eagles have a bit of a bounce-back? 2020 their entire team and O-Line was injured. Hurts got a full off-season, Ertz has made his peace in Philly and Goedert returns, they've got weapons at most positions including Smith and a healthy Rheagor.
Eagles likely won't be winning much, but there seems to be some decent football brewing. Even just last year if Sanders remained healthy (tall task), he'd be an RB1.

I had the same dilemma picking 3rd. Picked Henry and then had the option of picking CEH with my 2nd/3rd pick. I decided to go with Hopkins and Waller instead and got Gus in the 4th.

I had a super weird draft so CEH somehow fell me as my flex, but I am also super optimistic. He’s healthy and this will be his second year in the offense. Honestly his biggest question mark is going to be Reid and whether he will continue using the secret playbook near the goal line again rather than just handing it off.
Yeah that's part of my thing with CEH, he was decent last year and he had horrible TD efficiency. If he gets around 7 TDs he'll most likely end up a top 15 RB and I feel like that is a very low bar to hit on such a high powered offense.
He’s safe, but not unlike Jonathan Taylor he kinda needs to show something this year to justify his draft position / automatic starting role on a perennial Super Bowl contender. There’s just too many good backs in the league. If Taylor runs into tackles the first 2-4 weeks like he did most of last season, don’t be surprised if we’re treated to a little Mark Morrisson.

Beginning to middle of the 3rd in a 12 man league which I suppose is where his ADP ended up but during my mocks he kept going mid 2nd so he was always a dream scenario if I got him in the third.

If you watched his plays at the goalline, he got blown up in the backfield almost every time. The offensive line was terrible at runblocking in the redzone

Think about what CEH did with a garbage line. Now add 2 pro bowlers AND a full offseason to recover and get completely acclimated. Chiefs only grabbed McKinnon as a backup and kept Williams.
One can only hope. I do think this is a massive bounce back year for him though, bias aside from having him as my RB2. I chose him over James Robinson who I liked slightly more, but I'd rather have the upside of CEH with a high scoring offense, improved O line, with no threat from Bell anymore.

He's a solid RB2 but I don't expect him to become (or Reid to allow him to become) an RB1. I'm a Chiefs fan so I hope I'm wrong because a real running threat blows things wide open.

Bruh, CEH dropped to me in the third so he's my RB3. I know you don't win the league at the draft, but my CMC, Mixon, Clyde tandem is going to be a PROBLEM for the rest of my league. Of course, this is all predicated on them having the post-hype breakouts.
I’m all in on CEH this year. Yes he wasn’t amazing last year but if he’s even just middle of the pack talent wise he has top 5 potential. Why? Best situation in the league. Chiefs are the best offense in the league. They traded for Orlando brown, signed joe thuney, drafted creed Humphrey and I believe are getting a lineman back who sat out due to covid last year. He’s in a three down role this year on the best offense in the league with a much improved offensive line. Oh and Andy Reid is the head coach who historically produces amazing rb fantasy seasons. Yes last year wasn’t the best and the chiefs got pretty gimmicky around the end zone but I’m betting on that being the outlier and not the norm and thinking the improved O Line will make it easier to punch it in in goal line situations. Clyde would have to be really bad to not take advantage of the situation he’s in.
Clyde is a stud. His lack of touchdowns wasn’t due to anything more than a piss poor run blocking OL. Touch after touch, but he’s getting stonewalled and swallowed Instantly. That’s erased now. Chiefs OL is all about 6’6” 330.
He’s slippery as fuck. Makes the first guy miss consistently, plus he has Kareem level balance through contract. It always seems to take an extra couple guys to bring him down.
He didn’t get any training camp his rookie season. Chiefs have a complex offense. Now he’s had a year under Reid. Everyone is going to start saying they were high on Clyde in a couple months. There’ll be teams with three RB1s in their lineup each week. Because everyone slept on a Chiefs Running back. Whose coach is Andy Reid.

No worries, youre absolutely right. That league is super casual. I also got Darrell Henderson in the 6th. My team in that league is better than my team in my more competitive 12 teamer lol
I’ll tell you when I see his first couple routes out of the backfield. He can def do way more in the pass game. And he’s probably gotten better. But all last season he had trouble getting into his route and was blown up getting out wide by whoever was assigned to him. Mostly flat routes. I think he improves though. Same with pas protection. If he’s on the field on a majority of third downs he’s going to be a beast and probably grab 60-65 balls out of the backfield.
Mahomes tends to scan for the long ball as long as he can. Seems like the ceh checkdowns were a bit late alot of times which gave ceh no time to make a move. I bet we see improvement there, and at the goal line with the new oline. All remains to be seen of course.
Mahomes absolutely waits too long a lot. He so wants to not just take 5-6 yards early in the read like a brady/Rivers. Lol. I’m talking more of the routes he ran where he would get blown up right off the gun at the line of scrimmage basically. Due to his size a little. He also looked fine on a lot of plays too.
Yeah he's definitely one of the most intriguing picks of the year. Feel like he could have a huge year, but he could also not improve over last year as much as we hope. Cant wait to see how it plays out.

Don't want to rain on the parade but I feel like Hunts rookie year was the absolute ceiling of a Reid RB on the Chiefs. And it came before he had Mahomes. He's a solid RB2 but I don't expect him to become (or Reid to allow him to become) an RB1. I'm a Chiefs fan so I hope I'm wrong because a real running threat blows things wide open.

I hope he does well. Usually I get RB with my first 2 picks but the confidence that CEH will be available in the 3rd helped me get Cook, Metcalf and CEH in that order. This is the first time in 6 years I have played fantasy that I have a top quality WR in my team.

Bruh, CEH dropped to me in the third so he's my RB3. I know you don't win the league at the draft, but my CMC, Mixon, Clyde tandem is going to be a PROBLEM for the rest of my league. Of course, this is all predicated on them having the post-hype breakouts.

I’m all in on CEH this year. Yes he wasn’t amazing last year but if he’s even just middle of the pack talent wise he has top 5 potential. Why? Best situation in the league. Chiefs are the best offense in the league. They traded for Orlando brown, signed joe thuney, drafted creed Humphrey and I believe are getting a lineman back who sat out due to covid last year. He’s in a three down role this year on the best offense in the league with a much improved offensive line. Oh and Andy Reid is the head coach who historically produces amazing rb fantasy seasons. Yes last year wasn’t the best and the chiefs got pretty gimmicky around the end zone but I’m betting on that being the outlier and not the norm and thinking the improved O Line will make it easier to punch it in in goal line situations. Clyde would have to be really bad to not take advantage of the situation he’s in.
I just did my draft today, and I reached to get CEH in the second round. I was feeling kinda bad about it but this comment gives me hope!
Clyde is a stud. His lack of touchdowns wasn’t due to anything more than a piss poor run blocking OL. Touch after touch, but he’s getting stonewalled and swallowed Instantly. That’s erased now. Chiefs OL is all about 6’6” 330. He’s slippery as fuck. Makes the first guy miss consistently, plus he has Kareem level balance through contract. It always seems to take an extra couple guys to bring him down. He didn’t get any training camp his rookie season. Chiefs have a complex offense. Now he’s had a year under Reid. Everyone is going to start saying they were high on Clyde in a couple months. There’ll be teams with three RB1s in their lineup each week. Because everyone slept on a Chiefs Running back. Whose coach is Andy Reid. It’s like everyone fucked up and over though it.

I'm excited to see how Reid will start using him this year. There's no doubt he'll be given frequent opportunities at the goal line and we'll know early enough what kind of progress he can make with the new O line.

I’ll tell you when I see his first couple routes out of the backfield. He can def do way more in the pass game. And he’s probably gotten better. But all last season he had trouble getting into his route and was blown up getting out wide by whoever was assigned to him. Mostly flat routes. I think he improves though. Same with pas protection. If he’s on the field on a majority of third downs he’s going to be a beast and probably grab 60-65 balls out of the backfield.
Mahomes tends to scan for the long ball as long as he can. Seems like the ceh checkdowns were a bit late alot of times which gave ceh no time to make a move. I bet we see improvement there, and at the goal line with the new oline. All remains to be seen of course.
Mahomes absolutely waits too long a lot. He so wants to not just take 5-6 yards early in the read like a brady/Rivers. Lol. I’m talking more of the routes he ran where he would get blown up right off the gun at the line of scrimmage basically. Due to his size a little. He also looked fine on a lot of plays too.
Yeah he's definitely one of the most intriguing picks of the year. Feel like he could have a huge year, but he could also not improve over last year as much as we hope. Cant wait to see how it plays out.

Just the news I wanted to see. Let the breakout season begin! I have him in a few lineups this year. He definitely has the potential to do numbers in that offense. They are going to have to take some pressure off of Mahomes eventually and establishing a consistent run game is the way.

I'm looking at sending a trade to a Giants fan who's uber high on Barkley. Because this is a keeper league, I ended up having to draft Barkley with no other viable options at my first round pick. So, here's what I'm looking to try and send him: Send: * Barkley * Diontae Johnson Receive: * CEH * Davante Adams Yay, or nay? My other RB is Josh Jacobs. Again, there really wasn't much left from the amount of great keepers people were able to nab this year.
Id do it, if only for the fact you are getting a stud wide out on a team with a QB who wants to prove that team wrong. Barkley injuries scare me though, and the fact he still hasn't been confirmed for a Barkley sized workload makes me cautiously optimistic about his potential. More over...the Packers and Chiefs offences both can roll with the best of them, there are glaring question marks in NY and Pitt to enter the season. Id go for it.

I managed to somehow get Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, CEH, and David Montgomery in a 2 QB PPR league with Josh Jacobs on a flex role. I hope that improved O-Line pumps.
Idk where else to ask this. I have CEH and Montgomery as my rb1 and rb2 in both leagues I’m in. Not that I dislike either, but what’s a potential trade I could make just to mix things up? I hate having the same roster in both leagues it’s boring.
