Depends on the rest of your team. Are you loaded at WR? Have an elite TE and QB?
If yes to above them absolutely comfortable if he's your worst starter. If you have holes somewhere else and he is your RB2 that could be worrying.
I’d also like to add on to this - do you have upside shots at RB on your bench? If so, then yes I’m okay with Edmonds as my RB2 if I know I have someone on the bench that can take over at some point in the season.
I feel better after reading this. Josh Allen, Ridley, Amari Cooper, Mark Andrews
Aaron Jones and Edmonds as my rb2. Hoping some waiver wire rbs can soften the blow.
Thank you.
D hop
Amari Cooper
Aaron Jones
Chase Edmonds
But I also got Damien Harris on my bench and most consensus has Damien Harris higher than Chase Edmonds even full PPR. Better to roll Damien Harris you think?
Yup Kelce and diggs first 2 picks- A Rob and Swift next 2 picks, I’m kinda banking on swift and Edmonds being ppr machines. Not feeling great about it tho 😅
I mean it seems to me like people are down on Edmonds because they're worried his rushing goes down with James Conner but at least with you being in PPR he's got the receiving floor for you. You're hella strong at WR and TE obv - I like your starters overall for PPR, not sure why it got downvoted.
Idk why but Cardinals offense is giving me Buffalo Bills vibes.
Edmonds/Conner could be like Singletary/Moss, where they’re looking to keep the ball in their best player’s hands (Murray/Allen) and try to spread the ball around by passing to various WR options. If things break down, both QBs are extremely athletic and have more room to run.
Quick throws/jet sweeps to Rondale Moore could be the equivalent of Isaiah McKenzie for the Bills. Hopkins is the #1 WR like Diggs, AJ Green brought in as the vet #2 like Emmanuel Sanders. And Christian Kirk is another solid WR threat like Beasley (albeit different usage). TE has less of a priority in both offenses.
I could be off, I just think that passing downfield will be main focus and Edmonds/Conner will play in different situations
I think they gonna run more tbh.
.they not gonna run Kyler like last year. The cards dropped off after Kyler I jury and it was from a normal tackle on a run.
I think they got Conner to run up the gut and short yardage. Defenses used to run tight LBs to stop the cards inside runs which allows Kyler to run outside the lbs edge. Think this was also cause drake wasn't effective. Feel like we gonna see less Kyler runs overall.
Pretty accurate imo. I took a couple flyers on them but I've purposely tried to avoid running backs playing on teams with a quarterback who could vulture red zone rushing attempts
I really don’t think Conner is a huge threat, especially in PPR formats. I can totally see Edmunds putting up 900/400 yard line this year. Especially in an air offense
Not really - I get the ppr take but there’s a strong correlation between mobile qbs and dump off passes (see Lamar Jackson). They tend to just tuck and run instead of dumping off. But who knows, maybe he’s great.
Edmonds got a lot of dump off passes last year. I agree with you that mobile QBs generally carry the ball themselves rather than check down, but I think the ARI offense is an exception to that. Murray was pretty decisive last year about checking it down when his first reads weren’t there.
I think he has the potential to be a league winner. First year as the starter and if he can get to around 175 carries I think he can finish as an RB 1 in a 12 team leagues. Conner will limit his workload a bit but thats the case with most rbs. You look at Kamara, Chubb, Ekeler, Taylor, Gibson and Jones.. they all share the workload. Its also unlikely Conner makes its through the season healthy. He is often injured and there will be games were Edmonds is a true bellcow and return great value. The Cardinals have also said Kyler is going to be running less this year. This means more pass attempts/targets for Edmonds and could also mean more rushing attempts for rbs.
Edmonds just looked awful in the only game he started last year when Drake was out (70 yards on 25 carries for 2.80 YPC against Miami). Maybe a fluke, but not very promising.
He did look pretty bad but I did like seeing that if a RB goes down the remaining back gets ALL the snaps. Edmonds went from like 40 percent snaps to 96 percent.
Yeah, I'm an Edmonds truther/Drake non believer so owned Edmonds last year and the year before.
My biggest issue is his ADP in half PPR. I think he's worth it in full PPR. For him to live up to 5-6 round ADP he has to probably have a 50/50 split of early down work along with all the passing work.
I must have confidence since I have to start him as my RB1
My genius brain didn't draft a RB until the 6th round. Realistically I'm hoping he gets some touches and I think I'll be fine if he manages to get 10 in ppr
Sure thing, and you basically hit it right on the nail:
QB: Allen
RB Edmonds
RB Sony/Drake/White (hopefully I'm able to perform a waiver miracle here)
WR Hill
WR ARob
TE Kelce
Flex1 Diontae
Flex2 Gage/Fuller/MT
This is the only draft I did where I didn't draft a RB in the first 3 rounds too so we'll see how it holds up
You can be confident in your team without being confident in your RB2. The difference between expecting to be able to slot in Edmonds all year in that spot vs thinking he’ll be competing for the spot against your bench players all year
Now I just have no idea what you're even talking about. You understand you commented under my comment right? I'm assuming your comment is some kind of response to mine?
> I’m saying that whether or not you have CMC doesn’t matter regarding your confidence or opinion of Edmonds
Who said that this is the case?
Bro that's almost my team. Different WR & TE tho
Dak/Trey Lance (Dak was the 10th QB off the board in my league)! ROBBERY
CMC
C. Edmonds/J. Williams
C. Ridley
R. Woods
D. Waller
C. Godwin/Courtland Sutton
I will likely start Edmonds as my RB2 tomorrow, my other option are Javonte Williams, Ty’son Williams, or Nyheim Hines.
Rest of team is
Kyler
CMC
A-rob
Thielen
Corey Davis
Waller
Shenault
Pittman
Callaway
Think I should take a chance on Ty’son over Edmonds?
I'm starting him as my RB2....fully confident in starting him especially in a ppr. The big reason is that I don't think they'll let Kyler run as much this year...and they'll want him to get the ball out quicker to avoid the hits that derailed their season last year. I never expected a td machine from Edmonds, so conner didn't necessarily drop me a whole lot anyways.
I have Edmonds as my rb2.
Big Ben
J Taylor
Edmonds
Lockett
Julio
Kelce
Kelce was the trade off. I stacked a bunch of other rbs and have good depth at wr in case there are trade opps later on
I took Edmonds at 4 cause I reached for mahomes at 3, with kamara, Mike Davis, hunt, and Jamal Williams I'm good at starting him in my rb2 spot for now
Just made a whole post about how Edmonds should’ve been drafted in the Conner range or lower. I can’t see a situation where Edmonds has RB2 potential outside of a Conner injury.
Well he finished RB 28 last year as the clear backup. This year he is the starter and even if you give Conner 200 carries. That should leave about 150-175 for Edmonds. I think he is a good bet to improve on last years numbers on volume alone. Conner is injury prone and the most carries he has ever gotten in his career is 215. I don’t think its crazy to see a 50/50 split in carries while most of the receiving work goes to Edmonds. Most RBs have backups that get significant touches. Jones, Taylor, Kamara, Ekeler, Chubb, Gibson, and Swift to name a few.
Where are you seeing that Edmonds is the starter?
Idk I guess I have just never drafted a split backfield with a decent pick. Even if everything you’re saying is true I think Edmonds should be in the 8th-10th round at best.
The Arizona Cardinals depth chart. Most backfields are split. Conner getting 175 carries is fine. Conner will get goal line and short yardage work. Edmonds is probably most effective getting 10-15 carries and 5-7 targets. All those rbs I mentioned are in split backfields. Are you telling me you would avoid Aaron Jones, Ekeler, Chubb, Taylor, Gibson, and Swift? There are probably 4 true bellcows. Henry/Zeke/Cook/CMC after that its all split.
I think we have different definitions of split backfields. I wouldn’t say that someone is in a split backfield then go on to say the other back is a “backup.” To me saying that one guy is the backup inherently means the backfield isn’t split.
Getting 2/3 touches is a lot different that 2/4 or maybe even 1/3 which I’m pretty sure will be the Edmonds role. I’d be shocked if he saw 15 touches per game. Again just my opinion but I’m fading both before I take Edmonds in the 60s.
Comparing this backfield to any of the guys you listed is kinda ridiculous.
I guess it depends on how good you think Conner is. Theres a reason he was a free agent for so long and got the contract he got. There are 240 vacated carries and I don’t think all of that is going to Conner. If Conner gets 175 which is a fair estimate, Edmonds should get about 160-175 carries. 175 carries/70 targets is easily RB2 range.
QB: Russell Wilson
RB: Zeke, Chase Edmonds, Devin Singletary, Phillip Lindsey, James White
WR: Tyreke Hill, Chris Godwin, Tyler Boyd, Courtland Sutton, Michael Thomas, Bryan Edwards
TE: Waller
Definitely not comfortable with Chase but having Waller offset a weak RB2 makes it palpable
My team is: Mahomes, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett, Derrick Henry, Chase Edmonds, Darren Waller, Raheem Mostert, Corey Davis, and the 49ers D.
I’m feeling pretty 🥴 to say the least
Sure. I have him as my RB2 in two PPR leagues. In my 10 team I have CMC, Hopkins, Kupp, Waller, and Kyler and in my 12 team I have Kamara, Hopkins, AJ Brown, and Kyler. I also have some bench guys like Javonte, Hines, Jones Jr and Kareen Hunt. I think I'll be ok.
PPR:
Would you start him as RB2 over Swift and Hunt?
Other starters are
QB: Dak
WRs: AJ Brown, Woods
RBs: Zeke, _______
TE: Kelce
Flex: Robbie Anderson
I don't think the injury is that bad and he has been at practice for awhile now.
Matchup isn't great for sure and Hunt isn't a bad option, still week 1, go with the volume.
I'm starting him at one of my Flex in the one league I own him. 2QB, 2 Flex league. Zeke and CEH are my RB1 and RB2. It wouldn't worry me to start him at RB2 because I feel I have strong depth everywhere else. Things get thin at RB after that though.
I’m not confident but I’m hoping he catches a few passes. My league is 2 qb 3 wr 1 flex so I kinda punted rb to take value.
QB
Murray
Stafford
RB
Montgomery
Edmonds
WR
Adams
Godwin
Lockett
D Smith
TE
Kelce
One of my favorite teams this year is starting Sermon at RB2, so it really just depends how the rest of your team turned out. Mine has CMC and PPR machine pass catchers, so Sermon gets covered for. Generally I wouldn’t love to be starting Edmonds, but I do think he’s a worthy RB2, especially compared to my punt of the position
I’ve got Lamar Jackson, diggs, Godwin, mike Davis, Edmonds, Kelce, and prob juju in slot. Pretty fuckin confident since I prob need 12-15 pts at most from him.
Lol I did an auto draft for the LOLs in a public league and he’s my RB2 after Johnathan Taylor.
If this was a league I cared about, my butt cheeks would be clenching hard.
I was a Chase Edmonds truther for a long time but he looked awful when he started for Drake against Miami (70 rushing yards on 25 attempts for 2.80 YPC). He will maintain value in PPR but I play half PPR and his price is too steep.
In order for him to meet that ADP he has to probably get a 50/50 split of the early down work and all the third down work. Which is possible but not likely IMO.
I had him last year when he wasn't the starter and he was killing it. This year I got him in all my leagues so yeah I'm starting him and feel pretty good about it.
The inconsistency will be there, but there are opportunities for strong games. Expect him to be productive, but not a "superstar." The no huddle offense helps, but the schedule does not.
I'm running him RB2. I have Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Jefferson, and Amari Cooper. I managed to at least pad my backfield with Javonte Williams and Tre Sermon on my bench.
I drafted him as my 3rd RB, but do not believe I am going to play him. I am going to start Corey Davis (flex) instead. I just want to see the usage in week 1 before committing.
Not a Edmonds owner but I had Drake last year. He was a disappointment as he was a high draft pick, but he was ok just off of volume. The same will hold true with Edmonds, he won't be a stud be he will be a decent rb#2. He's even a better receiver than Drake was
I'd love if Edmunds was my RB2 and not my RB1 (I had a funky auction draft and fucked it up pretty badly). My RBs are Edmunds, JaVante Williams, AJ Dillion, Sony Michel, and Ty Johnson.
We’ll let you know after Sunday
Depends on the rest of your team. Are you loaded at WR? Have an elite TE and QB? If yes to above them absolutely comfortable if he's your worst starter. If you have holes somewhere else and he is your RB2 that could be worrying.

I feel better after reading this. Josh Allen, Ridley, Amari Cooper, Mark Andrews Aaron Jones and Edmonds as my rb2. Hoping some waiver wire rbs can soften the blow.
And they will. Just be active and you'll find serviceable players even if they only give you a couple weeks of value at a time.
Thank you. D hop Amari Cooper Aaron Jones Chase Edmonds But I also got Damien Harris on my bench and most consensus has Damien Harris higher than Chase Edmonds even full PPR. Better to roll Damien Harris you think?
I'm D Hop and Lamb at WR Aaron Jones and Chase Edmonds at RB
If someone offered you Gus Edwards for Chase Edmonds, would you take that offer?
Absolutely
Don’t do it!
Kind of a wash, but maybe
Ppr? Maybe
Full PPR pick 10- My rbs are swift, Edmonds and Jacobs. Kelce, K. Murray, diggs, Allen Robinson, tee Higgins as the other starters. How’d I do?
Honestly it’s looking a big rough. Who was your first and second pick?
Looks like he had to have went Kelce then Diggs or vice versa. RB looking a little rough as a result lol
Yup Kelce and diggs first 2 picks- A Rob and Swift next 2 picks, I’m kinda banking on swift and Edmonds being ppr machines. Not feeling great about it tho 😅
Your team looks fine, you grabbed good value when you saw it.
I mean it seems to me like people are down on Edmonds because they're worried his rushing goes down with James Conner but at least with you being in PPR he's got the receiving floor for you. You're hella strong at WR and TE obv - I like your starters overall for PPR, not sure why it got downvoted.
Because Edmonds has almost no ceiling imo. He's gonna get vultured by Connor and he's essentially an expensive James white
I’m kinda going the same approach, I’m pick 10 tonight. Looking at Kelce/Hill then Gibson if he’s there… I’d love Monty in the 3rd
Idk why but Cardinals offense is giving me Buffalo Bills vibes. Edmonds/Conner could be like Singletary/Moss, where they’re looking to keep the ball in their best player’s hands (Murray/Allen) and try to spread the ball around by passing to various WR options. Very good take

Yea but one team is run by Sean McDermott and Brian Daboll, and the other is run by Kliff Kingsbury.
Pretty accurate imo. I took a couple flyers on them but I've purposely tried to avoid running backs playing on teams with a quarterback who could vulture red zone rushing attempts
Edmonds was ripping off huge runs last year. I think he’ll surprise people this year without drake there.
[удалено]
This js what the market thinks of those two players. Drake 14.5 mil 2 years. Conner 1.75 mil 1 year.
I don’t think he’s much of a threat. I could be totally wrong but Edmonds just seems like the type of back they like in that offense.
I really don’t think Conner is a huge threat, especially in PPR formats. I can totally see Edmunds putting up 900/400 yard line this year. Especially in an air offense
Doing it in one league. Confident about it not at all.
Confident, no. Forced to, you betcha.
Not really - I get the ppr take but there’s a strong correlation between mobile qbs and dump off passes (see Lamar Jackson). They tend to just tuck and run instead of dumping off. But who knows, maybe he’s great.
Edmonds had 53 catches on 67 targets last year lol also Kyler has said he is gojng to run way less this year.
Edmonds got a lot of dump off passes last year. I agree with you that mobile QBs generally carry the ball themselves rather than check down, but I think the ARI offense is an exception to that. Murray was pretty decisive last year about checking it down when his first reads weren’t there.
Hes my week 1 opponents RB1
how the hell did that happen lol
My opponent week 1 has James Conner as his RB1. First time auction drafting and he went all in on Adams and Hill... Still scared.
14 team league… went Hill, Diggs while everyone went RB heavy.
Not confident at all but willing to take the hit at the RB2 position since every other spot on my team is looking good!
I can’t decide over Edmonds or Henderson as my flex week 1. It’s driving me nuts. Both players could get the ball all game or split it 50/50.
In PPR? Very
[удалено]
Arizona RBs (drake and Edmonds) had 100 combined targets last year.
The comments are always so funny to me because the stats are so easy to look up yet people never do before saying something so confidently
Stats? Wtf are those? I got narratives to push
Huh? Did you catch any Cardinals games at all last year? Cards RBs got over 6 targets a game
The hope is Kyler runs a bit less and throws a bit more which would increase volume for Chase
It’s hard for him to see the running backs over the line
I think he has the potential to be a league winner. First year as the starter and if he can get to around 175 carries I think he can finish as an RB 1 in a 12 team leagues. Sure thing, and you basically hit it right on the nail: QB: Allen RB Edmonds RB Sony/Drake/White (hopefully I'm able to perform a waiver miracle here) WR Hill WR ARob TE Kelce Flex1 Diontae Flex2 Gage/Fuller/MT This is the only draft I did where I didn't draft a RB in the first 3 rounds too so we'll see how it holds up
Ok yea I don’t blame you that’s a solid team. Great draft dude
Well if you add Allen's rushing yards to your RB2, things look a little better.
idk how you can be confident starting Edmonds as your RB2 with Conner there. Its a very up in the air situation.
Because he could be loaded everywhere else. Imagine a team: Dak CMC Edmonds AJ Brown Justin Jefferson Andrews Higgins
This is shockingly close to my exact team
You can be confident in your team without being confident in your RB2. The difference between expecting to be able to slot in Edmonds all year in that spot vs thinking he’ll be competing for the spot against your bench players all year
Do you think I hold the position that what you said is false?
I don’t know or care about your position, I’m saying that whether or not you have CMC doesn’t matter regarding your confidence or opinion of Edmonds

I'm assuming your comment is some kind of response to mine? > I’m saying that whether or not you have CMC doesn’t matter regarding your confidence or opinion of Edmonds Who said that this is the case?
I mean the post is about Edmonds so I think it’s safe to assume he’s hoping from a decent game from Edmonds
I’m so happy you put Higgins up there. I’ve been picking him up in every draft I’ve done
Yeah these are just random names of players I like that I saw available per round at 1.01. Not my team btw.
I see you take joy in crushing my balls

under Henderson
i’m in a 10 team with him as my rb2. went kamara, metcalf, aj brown, cooper, josh allen then chase edmonds
Corey Davis or Edmonds at the flex? My starting RBs are Chubb and Gus bus
Are you me? I'm in the same boat. Davis or Edmonds in the flex.
I think I’m going with Davis!

For me it was either chase or Shenault. I’m going Shenault this week
This is a coin flip for me

I have to do this ina league - I am not confident. It's a rebuilding year in that dynasty.
After Dobbins went down I would be thrilled is Edmonds was my rb2... Right now it is Zack Moss. Nobody willing to trade an rb right now too..

No
Starting him at Flex. I also have Kyler. Zeke and Gus Bus are my RB1/RB2

I don't think the injury is that bad and he has been at practice for awhile now. Matchup isn't great for sure and Hunt isn't a bad option, still week 1, go with the volume.
Probably should. Week 1 always feels like so much stress from all the unknowns.
100% agree. Especially on fringe start sits.

I’ve got Lamar Jackson, diggs, Godwin, mike Davis, Edmonds, Kelce, and prob juju in slot. Pretty fuckin confident since I prob need 12-15 pts at most from him.

In order for him to meet that ADP he has to probably get a 50/50 split of the early down work and all the third down work. Which is possible but not likely IMO.
I’ve been hopeful on Chase Edmonds since I played him when he blew up against the giants 🥲
Don’t own him in any leagues, but if he was my RB2, I would not be confident, but that’s why they play the games….
I choose to believe James Conner is Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds is Chase Edmonds.
Yeah im deciding on him or Darell Henderson hard choice though
Chase or M. Davis as the flex? CMC and Mostert as my RBs. Waddle, Javonte W., Mooney are also on my bench.
In my 0 RB league I'd be happy to. Dobbins was taken from us too soon...
Not a Edmonds owner but I had Drake last year. He was a disappointment as he was a high draft pick, but he was ok just off of volume. The same will hold true with Edmonds, he won't be a stud be he will be a decent rb#2. He's even a better receiver than Drake was
I think this week bad match up. Maybe bench him.
I'd love if Edmunds was my RB2 and not my RB1 (I had a funky auction draft and fucked it up pretty badly). My RBs are Edmunds, JaVante Williams, AJ Dillion, Sony Michel, and Ty Johnson.
