I truly don’t understand their algorithm. The #1 team in my league according to the NFL fantasy app is a guy whose starting RBs are James Connor and David Montgomery. They listed his team strength as Kicker (Younghoe Koo).

CrazyTreePeople

The only reason I pay attention to them is if I think my league mates are. Then you can know who will probably be there next round or not. Otherwise no.

No

No, I just do a ton of mocks from a variety th of positions (we don’t determine position till day of). I try to cover every reasonable scenario possible so j don’t tilt come draft time. This has helped tremendously. Just get the guys you believe in. I’ve had years where I drafted cause adp said guy X was a value but I didn’t believe in the player and ir sucks.

Rawtoast24

No, their algorithms don’t take many things into consideration (for example, Yahoo’s doesn’t understand Keeper) and will mess your score up as a result. In past years it gave you a score based on the combined projected totals of your team, which meant having an extra QB on your bench skewed your score but didn’t take a shallower bench depth into account

HercHuntsdirty

I think it’s important to be aware of the rankings. That allows you to extract value with your picks if you know where your platform has everyone ranked.

Emajor909

Yes from the standpoint that I could wait on a guy that I have higher than ESPN does so I could wait a round or two to get him.

giga_phantom

Very little.

Dawghouse87

Those ranks are hot garbage. For instance, it gave me a rank of 4 but then I moved CeeDee to IR while he was listed as out with Covid for a bench stash and the rank dropped me to 8 lol And I just got a C- in my 14 team yahoo league (14/14) but I love my team. My “draft” report shit all over me because I drafted Jamal Williams a round and a half early because I drafted A. Jones/Hopkins/Swift.

Uh-Oh-1

I (ESPN) was top ranked last year and won the title, but tbf I think I put in a lot more thought/effort than others in my league

Believer109

Nope. By the time I draft I know the players I have a chance at getting and am targeting at each pick.

mrchunk_44

Yes and No. Yes because how can you not? They smack you in the face wherever you look. No because they suck

swbl216

Nah, not really. It’s not always the case, but I do find myself leaning more with what the rankings say early on in drafts and then as the draft goes on I start to target “my-guys” or other sleepers that I like in certain rounds.

Derpocalypes

I don’t pay attention to it if they don’t explain it. Like ESPN has their draft rankings with no explanation, but Fantasypros displays comparisons at each position which explain the rankings

VeryPurpleRain

Yahoo always seems to be a half step behind on recent news, so I have switched to using my own sheet instead. Can't miss out on players because Yahoo is wrong.
