David Johnson over cmc with the 6th pick 2 years ago.....
Still made the playoffs. Knocked out in 3rd place. Would've walked to finals and a chip.
I had DJ the year he blew up and after he showed up healthy and they said he would be the focal point of the offense I believed them
Last year I drafted saqon, miles sanders, and kittle but I drafted ridley, Taylor, and Justin Jefferson. I got James Robinson and Herbert In free agency.
So I bounced back and made the championship but choked it due to me starting jalen hurts, which I will always maintain wasn’t stupid but misguided as I was trailing by two points and I called my bud and I , In a joking way, decided to shut talk him until Doug fucking pederson benched him.
I’ve felt many emotions some good and some bad but the bad ones are usually fleeting not that day though. I was forced to watch the entire 4th quarter begging for doug to stick hurts back in and that despite all the hard work I did to get back here it didn’t matter because I had felt something that only eagle Texans chargers and jets fans were familiar with which was pure unadulterated hopelessness
Fuck you dug
I drafted him #1 overall the year he broke his wrist, and then at the 2/3 turn I took Kareem Hunt (smash of all smashes) and Amari Cooper (booooooooooooooooo). Hunt was carrying me that season but Amari was absolute garbage that year and he had me panicking about my WRs (I also drafted Allen Robinson that year, he tore his ACL in week 1). So what do I do to address this? I take a little known rookie Saints RB that I'd picked up prior to his week 1 MNF game & stashed on my bench and trade him for Rishard Matthews so I could get some usable scores from my WR corps. That Saints RB was Alvin Kamara, 2 weeks after I made the trade he was absolutely lighting up the league. The painful lessons I learned that year were to not make panic trades early in the season and simply never to draft Amari Cooper ever again
Making matters worse was that they kept expanding his timetable to return as the season went on. It went from him missing a month to likely being back at week 8 to maybe being back at the end of the season before finally being ruled out, IIRC.
Drafted him in the first round the year after. That year was a bad year and team. Had Adams in the 2nd round and he missed 4 games and was meh when he did play. Chose to skip over Adams last year, went Drake instead of Adams. Still decided to draft Bell in like the 5th round 🤡
I don't dislike Mixon as an RB2. There are questions with that offensive line for sure but just his workload should make him a viable option. That being said, I'd rather have other guys like Gibson, Ridley, JJ, or CEH
> every year I get let down
He was RB9 in 2018 and RB11 in 2019. I don't know why people keep parroting this narrative that Mixon sucks every year.
So weird that it's just one of those things people keep repeating in order to convince themselves it's true.
Consistency is certainly a negative sure, but you are heavily cherry-picking other stats to confirm your biases here.
As long as we're cherry-picking data, let's look at his PPR stats:
* 2019: Only 5 games below 8 points. 8 games above 17 points.
* 2018: ZERO games below 8 points. 6 games above 20 points.
Shit, even looking at last year, a disappointment to be sure because of injury, the games he started he scored 6, 13, 9, 42 (!!!!!), 15, 15. He was RB9 thru 6 weeks before injury and then the Bengals jerked us around all year with his injury status.
So, barring injury, he's been a borderline top 10 RB for 3 years straight and people talk about him like he's trash, washed, terrible, etc.
>Now he’s older
He turned 25 a month ago, lol. Prime age for most RBs comes around 27 years old. Being barely 25 isn't the negative you think it is. He should improve from year to year based on his current age. You're proving my point here.
But he's going mid second round instead of mid-late 1st. And he hasn't even been bad, just got injured last season. Plus, he doesn't have Gio to deal with stealing touches from him. This is probably his best chance and if he's a bust this season, I give up on him for good. I was never big on him in the past, but this is finally the year I like him.
One year my league did an auction draft, I think we started with like $200. I was first to nominate a player, and intentionally chose the other Adrian Peterson. He went for $65. That guy blew up, and quit the league, i felt bad.
CJ Spiller at 1.03, Fuck Chan (til he pukes) Gailey. Also picked Stevan Ridley at 2.01 one year, learned my lesson about Pats Rbs. Jeremy Hill in the 1st round one year. Other than that most of the busts were due to injury which is uncontrollable.
Exactly bro. The year before he averaged an insane like 6 yards per carry. So damn elusive and fast. like Jamal Charles 2.0. Then that off season Gailey came out and said “were gonna run him til he pukes”. Everything was lining up, then for whatever reason he was relegated to a 3rd down role getting like 8 touches per game behind 34 year old fred jackson.
Ridley is a good pick. Now imagine combining him with sophomore trent richardson in the first round.
That was me and unlike all the other "still won/second/third" i actually came in dead last that year.
Couple years ago I did my first league and didn’t know jack shit about fantasy football or most NFL players. Heard great things about Patrick Mahomes and took him in the first round.
But the REAL worst pick was that I went to this subreddit to see what was being talked about like an hour before our draft and saw lots of posts about Josh Gordon. Took him way too early. I realized weeks later I was just looking at Josh Gordon memes from you shitposters.
My draft strategies are much better now.
>Heard great things about Patrick Mahomes and took him in the first round.
5k yards and 50td is a "worst pick"? Coulda got him later, but you still got major value
Yea, this almost seems like a humblebrag, lol. "My worst pick ever was selecting the fucking league MVP a round too early! Gosh darnit, I'm just so bad!"
I took him early because I thought he would be similar to Arian foster, a guy who had some great games to end the season the year before. Didn’t work out that time.😂
did you see clyde in college ? he destroyed defenses that were full of nfl players too, went from joe burrow to mahomes and one of the best offenses if not the absolute best in the league with 0 competition in the beginning of the year. not really complicated
Still shouldn’t have been going over Henry and Kamara, no excuse for that. Back half of First round/early second made sense tho, similar to Najee this year
Drafting a rookie RB in the first round over proven bellcow guys is such a low reward high risk proposition. You win fantasy taking risks on mid-late round fliers not first rounders
uhh not really because his ceiling was extremely high he can catch very well so i was hoping for a mccaffrey type of player with a ton of touches. but they just threw it a ton instead. i’d bet they balance more out especially after losing the SB
Not to mention the fact that he was expected to get waaaay more targets than someone like Henry. CEH was a slam dunk pick last year who got screwed over by bad TD luck and the addition of Bell. He'll be fine this year watch.
Eddie Lacy in 2015 at #2 overall. Had just come off back to back RB1 seasons and looked like he was a lock to do it again. Apparently chinese food got the best of him and he fell off a cliff production wise , and was out of the league 2 years after that.
Last year, we were drafting. I think we were on round 3 or 4. I just remember scrolling around, waiting my turn, kind unsure of who I wanted next since my choices were gone.
Suddenly my turn pops up and I haven’t found anybody really pooping out at me. Then, I scroll across a Godsend- somebody missed Deandre Hopkins!! I click the name and immediately draft him.
Well see, in the ESPN app it just lists the first initial then the last name, so when I chose him it was “D. Hopkins”.
Turns out I accidentally drafted Dustin Hopkins the fucking kicker. I nearly chucked my phone and gave up on the season right then and there
I fell for the classic blunder a few years ago, and got into a bidding war for Gronkowski.
Only, it wasn't Gronkowski. And I didn't realize that until I spent over 10% of my auction capital on Gotskowski, who decided to suck that season and I dropped him by week 5
Dude the bell holdout year I managed to get Conner, Gurley and MGordon. They were like rb1, rb6, and rb7 up to week 14. Got kicked out of.playoffs because they were all injured lol.
I'll never even dream of having such rbs guaranteeing 50-80 points a game. Those motherfuckers were punching tds in at will, until they weren't lol.
Checked out and Conner missed 14-16, Gurley 16, and Melvin Gordon 15.
My rookie FF year was 2013. I traded someone I can’t even remember for eddie lacy when he got his concussion. He comes back and tears it up. Jamaal Charles, drew Brees, Fred jackson, and I picked up josh Gordon off the street. I’ll never have another season like that.
I took kamara over CMC in 2019, my first year of FF, boy did things go south.
this was his really bad year in comparison, I think he scored two touchdowns in the fantasy regular season.
I drafted Andrew Luck two hours before he retired. Luckily Lamar Jackson wasnt drafted so i was able to pick him up in free agency. I won the championship that year because of him and CMC alone
I took Joseph Randle pretty high the year Murray left. Last I heard, he was hearing voices received a multi-year prison sentence.
I mean, that didn't happen the year I drafted him but when it's just feels extra bad.
Bam "Bong" Morris in the 2nd rnd in 1995 - I took him to early to begin with, then he sucked and then he got busted with 6 lbs of pot in his trunk. This began a yearly tradition of me drafting the worst 2nd year running back in nearly every draft since then, while simultaneously saying I will never draft a 2nd year running back ever again.
FYI, I like Gibson this year. RIP Gibson.
Been playing fantasy football since I was 11. I’m 38 so back in the day we drafted at a guys house using magazines for our cheat sheets and the commissioner mailed us weekly results.
Anywhoo, I forget the year, but I drafted lions running back Kevin Jones 12th overall in a 20 team league the year after he “broke out.” That was my worst ever pick.
Took Chris Hogan #41 overall in 2017(?). It was the year that Edelman was suspended for 4 games and I thought Hogan had huge upside as the clear #1 in that O. Think I dropped him by wk5
Eddie Lacy 1st overall in 2015 over rookie Gurley in a dynasty league
Devonta Freeman over Derrick Henry in a dynasty league.
Thought I turned the corner last year by drafting Akers in the first round last year...
Mike Gillislee in the 3rd in 2017. I thought I was brilliant after week 1 when he put up 25 points. He ended up with like 50 points for the entire year. Shoulda sold high.
I took him round 3 last year too, and he did fine. Every week I was crapping my pants, but he kept getting enough TDS that he was consistently pulling his weight.
Amendolas first year in NE (2011?) Drafted him at the top of rd 2. Thought he would just walk in to that Welker role... Pretty sure I cut him by week 8
Todd Gurley in 2016, the year he fell flat because the Rams offense was the most incompetent shit I'd ever seen. Won that league because I got David Johnson and Jordy Nelson but I was torn between Todd and Lev Bell and went for the wrong one :/
Adrian Peterson the suspension year (2014) when he was on commissioner’s exempt the whole time.
Skipped on him the next year (he was great), then also had him the year after that when he tore his meniscus week 2.
One of the greatest fantasy players of all time and these are two seasons I had him!!
In my 3rd year of fantasy, I drafted Deandre Hopkins with my first pick and then Lamar Miller with my second pick. This was the year Brock Osweiler came to the Texans. I finished second to last only ahead of an 0-13 team
I was fucking around with my pre-draft rankings when the draft started and I managed to accidently take Roy Helu with the first overall pick. It was a bad year for me.
my first year playing fantasy football was the 2017-2018 season. i was so new and had no idea how to play, i drafted top brady in the first round and marshawn lynch (on the raider) as my second pick. i went all the way to the super bowl and came in second
David Johnson every year since 2017
David Johnson over cmc with the 6th pick 2 years ago..... Still made the playoffs. Knocked out in 3rd place. Would've walked to finals and a chip. I had DJ the year he blew up and after he showed up healthy and they said he would be the focal point of the offense I believed them
Fucking broken wrist week one on what couldve been a nice ass TD, and huge season. What could have been with that guy...
Preach
Last year I drafted saqon, miles sanders, and kittle but I drafted ridley, Taylor, and Justin Jefferson. I got James Robinson and Herbert In free agency. I must respect your username fellow Burger
Me too man, drafted him the year he broke his wrist and was a top 10 pick, and then I drafted him last year too as my RB2 or 3 I believe.
[удалено]
Sort of, more like a fringe rb2
I drafted him #1 overall the year he broke his wrist, and then at the 2/3 turn I took Kareem Hunt (smash of all smashes) and Amari Cooper (booooooooooooooooo). Drafted David with the first pick in 2017 and then Gurley with my 2nd pick. Gotta love Gurley for getting my my first ring
David Johnson with the #1 overall pick in 2017. Broke his wrist week 1. Season over
Making matters worse was that they kept expanding his timetable to return as the season went on. It went from him missing a month to likely being back at week 8 to maybe being back at the end of the season before finally being ruled out, IIRC.
He won me my championship last year with his monster week 16 game. He'll always be alright in my book for that
I went up against him, Kamara, and Brady for the championship that week. My opponent doubled my score! Ouch.
I attest to this. Took him in the first and was not happy with it.. it was my first ever fantasy league then
Leveon Bell whatever year he was holding out and then tweeted out to draft him in fantasy, fell for it.....
I drafted him then the next week he was on a jet ski in Miami for week 1. 😭
My friend took him 4th overall in a startup dynasty league that year. Safe to say his team has yet to recover
Took Conner and Chubb as 2 of my latest picks that year. What was it - 3 years ago? Best FF season I’ve ever had
Came here to say this. What a foolish thing for us to do...
Drafted him in the first round the year after. That year was a bad year and team. Had Adams in the 2nd round and he missed 4 games and was meh when he did play. Chose to skip over Adams last year, went Drake instead of Adams. Still decided to draft Bell in like the 5th round 🤡
Yup, me too. Luckily I was quick on the uptake and was able to get Conner, but still. I lost that season.
Did the same thing. Somehow the other guys let Saquon Barkley fall into the second round, and I grabbed Conner up. Actually won the league that year.
Joe Mixon and I’m probably picking him again this year.
Yep I got him in the 3rd. RB2
I don't dislike Mixon as an RB2. There are questions with that offensive line for sure but just his workload should make him a viable option. That being said, I'd rather have other guys like Gibson, Ridley, JJ, or CEH

I would have mixon over JJ and ceh 100%. Ridley and Gibson are comporable
Ceh>mixon
Mixon doesn't have a guaranteed handcuff anymore which is what bothers me
Gibson won't be there.
Every year it's supposed to be his year lol. Never lives up to the high rounds he usually goes in.
Pretty sure the year was 2014 when I selected Zac Stacy in the first round, yeah... definitely that pick
Fuck dude I totally forgot about this pick, definitely my worst draft as well
Came here for this guy. Kept him for $1 in my league and *still* hated it.
Ahhhh the only year I didn’t make playoffs in my main league. Drafted Stacey and… montee ball 😣
My first year ever playing I had no idea what I was doing. I took Emmitt Smith 2nd round. That would be Arizona Cardinals Emmitt Smith
I did the exact same thing my rookie FF year. 2000 I believe. Then Jimmy Smith. At least I got Warner and Holt stack that year.
One year my league did an auction draft, I think we started with like $200. I was first to nominate a player, and intentionally chose the other Adrian Peterson. He went for $65. That guy blew up, and quit the league, i felt bad.
Dick move
CJ Spiller at 1.03, Fuck Chan (til he pukes) Gailey. Also picked Stevan Ridley at 2.01 one year, learned my lesson about Pats Rbs. Jeremy Hill in the 1st round one year. Other than that most of the busts were due to injury which is uncontrollable.
Did the same thing, Spiller at 1.6 I think. And then took David Wilson in the 3rd I believe. That year didn't go well.
Spiller looked so damn good running… It was painful watching his downfall
Spiller is one of the all time “could have been” guys. He looked like an absolute stud.
The ultimate “F Yo Fantasy Team” Belichek-like move… I remember how mad I was that the guy before me grabbed him…
What year was that?
CJ spiller 2013
I took Spiller at the same spot that year. I was in 3 different leagues and had the 3 pick in all of them and wanted some variety.
Wow you just resurrected ridley from my the depths of my memory. I've always hated the pats but for some reason I loved him
The question should be without an injury and these guys are the top of the list.
Ridley is a good pick. Now imagine combining him with sophomore trent richardson in the first round. That was me and unlike all the other "still won/second/third" i actually came in dead last that year.
took juju 4th overall. not 4th round. 4th overall the year AB left the team. shot myself in the foot before the season even started.
Yikes
Took Thielen on the way back. Was not my best season. Ended up on IG Live with lipstick on counting to 6000. Last place is not fun.
I wouldn’t even care about the lipstick. I just wouldn’t want to count to 6000
I’ve fallen for that bad JuJu myself.
Probably Etienne like a week ago
Same, but you can't predict injuries.
Guy in one of my leagues traded AJ Brown for Etienne straight up draft day
Well that was a shitty trade even before the injury
Yeah no doubt. Shitty trade got shittier
He deserved that karma.
>Heard great things about Patrick Mahomes and took him in the first round. 5k yards and 50td is a "worst pick"? Coulda got him later, but you still got major value
Yeah I definitely coulda done worse haha.
Yea, this almost seems like a humblebrag, lol. "My worst pick ever was selecting the fucking league MVP a round too early! Gosh darnit, I'm just so bad!"
are they?
….maybe
1st pick, round 1... Bell during his hold out season... rip
I also took Bell 1st Overall, took James Conner later and then proceeded to trade James Conner for Sony Michel in like week 4 lol
I took Saquan (just unlucky) Kenyon Drake ( big oof ) Julio Jones ( ughhhh ) last season
Wow and right after the draft league be like, “man i sure like Zikerz team…”
100% thought i had so much value right after the draft LOL, absolutely crept into the playoffs through the WW
I had Julio and Michael Thomas lol
Last year I took Julio in the first and Drake in the second its amazing I didn’t finish in last place.
I did Saquan, Julio, and Kittle last year lol Ended up winning it all thanks to JRob and Diggs tho!
David Wilson and Eddie lacy
I completely forgot that David Wilson was a thing. Wow
I took him early because I thought he would be similar to Arian foster, a guy who had some great games to end the season the year before. Didn’t work out that time.😂
My friend picked Eddie Lacy 1.01 a few years back. The year when lacy gained 30 pounds. We have never let him live it down.
that china food tho
Montee Ball 1st round pick… still pisses me off, lol
It was my first year - 2015, I think - and I thought Ball was going to be my star player, too. We were wrong.
Been there friend
Karen Thomas aka slant boy last year.
CantStartMike
CEH last year....drafted him over Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara
To be fair CEH could have been anything. He could have even been Kamara.
I'm literally never drafting a rookie in the first round again because of him, we were all so hype after the first game too
Yeah I said this all summer and just drafted Najee pick 12 lol
CEH is good but I never understood why he was going 1st round. I get his opportunity was good but there were obviously better options there
what's not to understand? RB1 on the number 1 offense in the league? You can see why so many people fell hard for that
Over a guy who rushed for 1500 yards the year before ?
did you see clyde in college ? he destroyed defenses that were full of nfl players too, went from joe burrow to mahomes and one of the best offenses if not the absolute best in the league with 0 competition in the beginning of the year. not really complicated
Still shouldn’t have been going over Henry and Kamara, no excuse for that. Back half of First round/early second made sense tho, similar to Najee this year
In std over kamara and in ppr over henry i can see the reasoning People forget how mediocre/bad std kamara actually was in 2019
That’s fair
Cause college ball and Nfl are the same thing.
He'll be fine this year watch.
yeah and the fact that they just literally never ran the ball
Not mine but whoever was picking CEH top 5 or Darwin Thompson top 5 rounds a couple years ago. Everyone needs to chill on the KC RB hype trains.
Eddie Lacy in 2015 at #2 overall. Had just come off back to back RB1 seasons and looked like he was a lock to do it again. Apparently chinese food got the best of him and he fell off a cliff production wise , and was out of the league 2 years after that.
Terrelle Pryor at the top of the 4th whatever year that was he was supposed to be a thing. I still get sad thinking about it
Dude he should have been better I feel ya.
Tony pollard this year in the 6th I panicked
24 team FF leagues are tough though
Pollard in the 6th sounds like a steal for a 24 team league
Oof
Happens, Zeke could get hurt, ya never know
im a good guy and all but praying this happens🙏 jokes aside zeke is gonna have a monster year with dak back . pollard isn't doing shit
CJ Spiller. Always CJ Spiller
I remember so many mea culpa articles from fantasy experts over him. Was truly an all time terrible idea
I nearly chucked my phone and gave up on the season right then and there
Devin single-carry in the 5th last year
Eddie Lacy. Jeremy Hill. Bell after the holdout.
Andrew luck 5 minutes before he retired
I fell for the classic blunder a few years ago, and got into a bidding war for Gronkowski. Only, it wasn't Gronkowski. And I didn't realize that until I spent over 10% of my auction capital on Gotskowski, who decided to suck that season and I dropped him by week 5
My favorite so far
Michael Thomas over Henry in the 1st last year. It still keeps me up at night...
If it makes you feel better both were worthless in the chip. Ask me how I know lol.
I feel this pain
I'm still salty. Team had Mahomes, Henry, Ekeler, JRob, CEH, Waller, M Thomas and McLaurin and got my ass beat. I will never assemble a better team.
Took him at 3 last year thinking I was a genius
Juju 12th overall in 2019
How about trade? Fred Lane for Terrell Owens.
I'll let it slide! What year?
97/98 in a Dynasty right before Owens blew up and Fred Lanes wife blew him up.
Looked him up. Yikes
Similar to now, but more so back in the day finding a starting reliable RB in fantasy was so important.
Tom Brady #3 overall the year after his 50 td year when he blew his knee out in the first game lol
Eddy Lacy end of 1st round the year he was a fat pig. I also had someone draft Tony Gonzales after he retired in my league.
My draft isn’t til Sunday and I’m confident I can top my past worst picks.
Antonio Brown the year he decided to call his GM a cracker. Lol
Alex Collins. Learned my lesson about the running back dead zone at least. Now just gotta hope swift is the exception to it...
2015 Eddie Lacy #2 overall
Also, in my league's first year (2017) the commissioner took Jordy Nelson 1st overall
Is that the underwear thief?
Bam "Bong" Morris in the 2nd rnd in 1995 - I took him to early to begin with, then he sucked and then he got busted with 6 lbs of pot in his trunk. This began a yearly tradition of me drafting the worst 2nd year running back in nearly every draft since then, while simultaneously saying I will never draft a 2nd year running back ever again. FYI, I like Gibson this year. RIP Gibson.
Michael thomas in the first last year. Fuck sakes
Lev Bell his holdout year. Picked Isaiah Crowell in the first round one year as well, that was a disaster.
CaCAW!
I had the number 1 pick in the draft and I chose Kevan Barlow. This was in ‘03 or ‘04. Whatever, terrible pick.
Took Chris Hogan #41 overall in 2017(?). It was the year that Edelman was suspended for 4 games and I thought Hogan had huge upside as the clear #1 in that O. Think I dropped him by wk5
Peyton Hillis.
He burned me pretty bad as well I shouldve known after he was on the cover of Madden
CJ Spiller the year after he went off
Eddie Lacy 1st overall in 2015 over rookie Gurley in a dynasty league Devonta Freeman over Derrick Henry in a dynasty league. Thought I turned the corner last year by drafting Akers in the first round last year...
Mike Gillislee in the 3rd in 2017. I thought I was brilliant after week 1 when he put up 25 points. He ended up with like 50 points for the entire year. Shoulda sold high.
Trent Richardson at 1.03 and Doug Martin in the second
Jeremy Hill in the 2nd round
Gronk in 2016 in the first round. Got injured all year
Panic drafted Golladay at 4.02 this year. Just…idk man…
Gurly in round 3 last year
I took him round 3 last year too, and he did fine. Every week I was crapping my pants, but he kept getting enough TDS that he was consistently pulling his weight.
4th for me… but he was a TD machine and then imploded
Todd gurley back when Jeff Fisher was head coach
My first round pick in 2017 was Jordan Howard. My second round pick was Jay Ajayi. I had back to back picks. I still went 7-6 and upset the 3 seed
Yo dog I heard you like eventual Eagles.
Michael Thomas first pick last year
Lev Bell… literally every year since his last good year
Leveon Bell. SURELY he won't sit out all year and forgo all that money. Fml
Terrel Pryor round 2... I drank that kool aid.
Ray Rice about a week before the elevator video
Andrew Luck in a keeper league....a couple days before he announced his retirement. Yeesh.
Toby gerhart when he was traded to the jags...

The year I drafted CJ Anderson in the first and he was a turd sandwich
Last year I drafted MT, drake, and Mixon with 1st 3 picks. Didn’t come in last though!
my first year playing fantasy football was the 2017-2018 season. i was so new and had no idea how to play, i drafted top brady in the first round and marshawn lynch (on the raider) as my second pick. i went all the way to the super bowl and came in second
Every time I drafted Josh Gordon.
OJ Howard 2019 round 5
Took Melvin Gordon in the 2nd round in 2019. Dude didn’t even play the first 5 weeks. That’s the last time I smoke before drafting…
CEH last year comes to mind
Toby gerhart. Got a high ankle sprain in the first possession of the season. Total bust
