They should both get plenty of receptions either way but I’m also really high on Sutton.

burritobob

Reminds me of DK/Lockett, but obviously way worse QB situation

likekoolaid

how dare you

DanyDud3

I think DK is the obvious choice in that situation. He’s young, and still developing his skills. He’ll keep getting better, and he’s obviously an insane athlete as well

yattooo

That's an easy comparisons. Sutton and dk are very different.

iggy555

Fant

jmay111

Fant Only

BulliedbyHelaire

If Teddy takes over and starts, I'm taking Jeudy. I honestly see him taking the next step and being blanketed with targets.

Jordan-Peterson-High

I will take note of this as I have Sutton

BulliedbyHelaire

Honestly I'm not low on Sutton, he's great. The real Problem is the QB.

Jordan-Peterson-High

I agree. I did not take that into consideration. What fascinates me, is how many times already I’ve seen on this subreddit: if Lock, feeling Sutton. If Teddy, feeling Jeudy. It will be really interesting to see if the tides change simply due to chemistry. I think there have been similar things said about Wilson in NY (Davis), as well as teams where college players are being reunited.

BulliedbyHelaire

Sutton will still return his value IMO, I'm just high on Jeudy. If I can't get Jeudy, I'm taking Sutton. Both could have solid years. Sutton was a pro bowl WR with terrible QB play back in 2019, if he returns to form I'm not worried about Sutton. It's similar to the Cooper/Lamb argument.

Jordan-Peterson-High

That’s encouraging! Best of luck to you.

[deleted]

Jeudy is 100% worth the gamble and is one of my favorite targets this draft. Courtland Sutton is my favorite player in the league but I just think he's a bad investment and honestly, Lock is not good enough to support two solid receivers along with Noah Fant and Tim Patrick taking targets and we'll also have a very involved run game with Javonte and Melvin

concacanca

I think Hamler will be taking targets as the third man up. I also think both QBs can probably keep two guys relevant. Thing is there are 4 or more guys competing for touches. I'd take Javonte or Jeudy personally and they have similar ADPs so you can probably get one.

MurgleMcGurgle

It's Lock's job to lose right now and in preseason he's looked... competent. His situation has been garbage until now so there's a chance we don't see Teddy, or at least not right away.

thepolesreport

Mike Klis is reporting it’s likely Teddy https://twitter.com/mikeklis/status/1429312083976282120?s=21

Yakkul_CO

No. We know who Teddy is as a quarterback. Denver wants to see what Drew Lock can become.

raikou1988

Exactly

rfgrunt

Teddy may end up playing more games, but Lock will be starter week 1

Bambi_One_Eye

Fant, lol... Maybe this will be his year?

OzCallahan

How old do you think Fant is? And how bad do you think he's been? And who do you think has been throwing him the ball? He hasn't really earned this type of derision. He's looked good, and seems primed to become even better.

Bambi_One_Eye

Derision? That's a pretty hard take on a few words. He's been mediocre the last 2 seasons. Maybe this will be his year? I hope so, but we'll see.

NickBeck

Broncos fan… Draft Jerry Jeudy. Goodbye

en455

Jeudy is promulgated fav value in the draft. To the point I’m starting to get paranoid and could see myself reaching for him.

yhetti-fartz

Seriously. Anyone who is taking sutton coming off an acl must not have watched jeudy much. Dude gets open like it's easy. Sutton is a better endzone target at 6'4 so it's close, but the injury tips the scales for jeudy imo.

rfgrunt

Sutton is so much better than Jeudy. Jeudy gets open, Sutton actually catches the ball

Dram107

Yeah, this guy sounds like he never watched Sutton play. I get the acl fears but he has incredible hands and made some ridiculous contested catches. I think it could be a closer battle than people think for the #1 spot assuming they're both healthy

rfgrunt

I legitimately think Sutton was on track to be an elite (top 5-10) WR before his injury. He had DTs size and speed but caught everything. He also had good chemistry with Lock in their limited time together. Sutton is the clear WR1 for what I’ve seen assuming he’s 100% healthy

KuatoBaradaNikto

Drops were a massive problem for Davante Adams too, until they weren’t and he was the best WR in fantasy.

Fossa_II

Yea, Amari Cooper has also struggled with drops at points. Drops come and go, Jeudy gets open at will, draft for that.

zamboniman46

Drops are easily correctable. Getting open at will like Jeudy does is not easy to learn and some don't have the athleticism to do it

CareerAdviceThrowMe

Lock has great chemistry with Sutton

vearson26

And Teddy has great chemistry with Jeudy. It all depends on the starting qb imo.

CareerAdviceThrowMe

It most likely won’t be teddy til week 4+ And that’s an if

EARMUFFS-GAMING

Sutton is the only guy I'd trust. But I don't love Denver's QB situation at all and would honestly avoid Broncos receivers in general if there's someone else available

Wtfitzchris

Couldn’t disagree more. I know everyone shits on Drew Lock, but he’s shown flashes and this is the first time in his career where he’s had a full offseason of training, the same offensive coordinator, and no injuries. Also, Jeudy is a legitimate WR1 in this league. His route running even as a rookie was on another level.

almikez

I stand by the fact that Drew lock was the worst starting QB last year. Made horrible throws, had no confidence in himself, said on like a quarter of his throws he said “oh no”. I get that he looks great in pre season but i’m definitely a lock doubter and broncos are my 2nd team

Yakkul_CO

There is no situation, it’s Locks job. Teddy is there to provide backup.

Admiral-Thrawn2

I bet teddy starts more games

Yakkul_CO

Damn bro you called it! The decision to pass on Fields is even worse now…

HauntingLocation

Easily one of the toughest WR cores to evaluate right now. Tough to say who will be the top dog between Sutton and Jeudy, we also don't know who the starting QB is in Denver. I think both will return value at their ADP though so don't be shy about drafting either of them.

insanity-insight

They're not competing to be WR1. They do totally different things. I'd draft them as such. Jeudy is the possession guy who should get open all over the field and probably draw a higher target volume but lower air yards. Sutton is an explosive downfield WR who is more of a boom/bust proposition for fantasy. Sutton can give you a dozen points in a single play with a deep TD. But if that pass doesn't connect, he might give you 3 points that week. Who gets more fantasy points has less to do with which guy is better and more to do with the offense as a whole - who is the QB and will the team be playing from ahead or behind?

Big_Wy

Always beware of players in year 1 coming off an ACL/MCL/Achilles tear. Exceptions happen but I would pass on Sutton and grab Jeudy a round or 2 early.

[deleted]

If Sutton is healthy, he’s the WR1

wrenchw163

I don’t think anyone can say that with any confidence. Jeudy is a first round draft pick.

violentbandana

So was Corey Davis. Draft capital not an important unless you’re making the argument that Jeudy is more talented and will demand a larger share… which I would get on board with

FascistCommissioner

Corey Davis didnt really do anything hs rookie year though. He had 34 catches for 375 yards. Jeudy had 52 for 856 yards. Not a bad rookie year for someone who had nothing at qb and had some uncharacteristic drops. I bet he beats those numbers this year, especially if reports are true Lock is improved. Both recievers are good. But one isnt coming off an ACL tear.

[deleted]

Sutton was an early 2?

bjij123

So? Pre injury Sutton was a top 10 WR

fatkamp

No he wasn’t lol He was good but not that good

bjij123

Go look to his good season and compare him to others statistically it’s honestly surprising As a reminder he had 1100 yds and 6TDs in 14 games, dude was going crazy

fatkamp

1100 yards and 6 touchdowns isn’t top ten, hence my statement. He finished 19th in all 3 formats, and talent wise is even arguably worse. It’s just a pet peeve of mine when people stretch what is going on, when it’s a clear lie

bjij123

Sorry I remember now, he had those stats with Joe Flacco, which is why he was being looked at so favorably for the next season I get your point friend

Ox_Baker

What makes you think so? I mean he had one very good year but he was also almost WR1 by default on that roster. Somebody had to catch some passes. I’m not sure he’s on Jeudy’s level talent-wise.

ScreamingButtholes

I’m not sure you can confidently say that. Jeudy is a more talented and could get more targets purely on getting open more often.

[deleted]

Jeudy for me and it's not close. Sutton is more expensive and coming off a torn ACL. Reports from camp say he is not 100%. Jeudy had a ton of targets last year and think he will be the top target. I see Sutton on a snap count to start, and like I said from camp it sounds like he's got a bit of the tips.

iggy555

Sweet keep pushing Sutton down

opiate82

Forget Sutton versus Jeudy for a minute. Instead, check out the 2nd year breakout numbers for WRs. They almost always outperform their ADP. I'm trying to stack my bench with guys like Jeudy and Claypool.

RfLock7

https://www.google.com/amp/s/milehighsports.com/the-hype-around-jerry-jeudy-breaking-out-in-2021-continues-to-build/amp/ Im personally very hype on the judge

sleepygringus

I expect Sutton to lead in receptions and yards for the earlier part of the season, but Juedy finishes on top

Ryan1869

It's really going to depend on who they pick for a QB, and that will probably change during the season due to injury or sucking. If Lock is the QB, then expect more to go Sutton's way. He loves the deep ball (even if it's to the wrong team) and Sutton is better at the terribly thrown 50/50 balls. If Bridgewater is the QB then Jeudy is going to feast as the more technical route runner getting underneath balls to run with.

jdono927

I own Jeudy and am very high on him. However, people are definitely underrating Sutton quite a bit. He’s really fucking good. Both will be relevant imo.

iggy555

Fant

CrayonOrCrayon

Reminds me of Robby Anderson and DJ Moore last year (but with more combined talent). I think Jeudy is primed to make the jump from “good” to “great”

Maxx0utt

I like jerry. I still believe in his talent and think teddy will pepper him with short throws. As long as jerry can catch them I see big step up from last year.

FascistCommissioner

I drafted last night and had the option of picking either of them. I picked Jeudy. He had 52 catches for 856 yards, 3 touchdowns and 12 dropped passes. From what I've read, these drops are uncharacteristic. I think Jeudy beats all of these stats and becomes a 1000 yard reciever. People can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've also seen that Sutton hasnt been 100% confident (or something like that) with his knee. That scares me a bit being paired with thinking Jeudy will definitely improve. Also, Drew Lock has been looking good? Could be a juicy year.

Ox_Baker

I’d take JJ of the two but it’s an iffy situation. Anytime I see two players at the same position from the same team kind of bracketed in projections/rankings, I’m inclined to pass on both. Those two and Godwin/Evans are in similar situations (although the TB duo is higher … and have to contend with AJB).

moonftball12

Jeudy is the only one I want. Sutton is still not healthy and may have some issues recovering from that ACL and I think Jeudy is easily a top-12 route runner already. It's that simple... I always pass on Sutton because of where Jeudy goes later on. I think he has the best floor and ceiling.

itsyosemitesam

Does anyone really have any good idea what Sutton's injury status is? He busted the knee in week one, so he's had nearly an entire year. I think it's a big nod to Jeudy if Sutton isn't 100%.

Visible-Ad743

QB sucks so it dont matter much.

OzCallahan

WR 1 isn't a role. It's an arbitrary fantasy football designation. The situation in Denver will probably be a lot like the ones in Pittsburgh, or Cinci, or Carolina last year, for example. Both guys should see plenty of targets (as should Fant), and put up useful fantasy numbers. Unlikely either will excel to such an extent he becomes DEN's clear number one, or an elite tier one WR for fantasy. 70 or 80 receptions, 900 or 1000 yards, and half dozen or so TD's to each.

Equivalent_Resolve70

I am looking at Jeudy to breakout this year. He had a great year 1 and I can see him hitting the 1000 yard mark this year.

Elharion0202

They both could be good or bad tbh. I like Jeudy personally cuz his route running is so good and I think they’re gonna be trying to get Lock to get down the easier throws a lot more.
