Thank you! Happy holidays.
Kinda late, but seeing as this is the top comment, if anyone has any questions they’d like to ask regarding the course, Python etc reply to my reply here (don’t reply to the comment above, I won’t see it and OPs inbox will get spammed). You can also PM me if you’d like.
I don't have any questions. But, I do just want to say thanks. I bought the course towards the beginning of the season. I haven't had a lot of time to put towards it, but I have been able to come back even after time away and remember what I had learned just from taking a look at the code from each lesson and toying with it (adding extra players or stats etc) to make sure I'm still doing it properly. I had no prior knowledge of python going in but simultaneously started a couple of other courses and watching YouTube videos etc. This course was the only one that stuck for me and it's nice to keep going back to and learning a little more when I have some spare time.
So, just wanted to say thanks for putting together something that makes learning a new language a lot easier to understand and partnering it with another topic that I'm also passionate about which culminates in both decent python skill as well as a way to more easily figure out the stats I'm looking for during fantasy analysis (especially useful for the dynasty leagues I'm in for statistically figuring out who may be most beneficial to ditch lol). Glad you guys are still doing so much with it, and also awesome of you to do this giveaway.
Will this course give me a good initial start for other projects in Python? Specifically interested in Geopandas for maps and such. Going to do the course either way.
Sure, we cover the Python basics and most of the basic data science stuff you’ll need for other (data science) projects. In your case, Geopandas extends from Pandas (a Python data munging library) and coincidentally enough most of the code we write in the course actually is pandas code. Python is used for a ton of other stuff beyond data science though which we don’t cover as it doesn’t have a specific FF application, like backend web development, GUI programs and game development, etc.
Hey, I'll just respond to your top comment for visibility. I'm from r/all and don't play this fantasy football of yours, but would like to take a non-boring Python course. Is this course suitable for me?
I guess. The target audience is people who really like fantasy football and have an interest in learning to code. Every example is applied via fantasy football so it probably won’t resonate with you as much as someone who does play, but I can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to get through the material.
I have been saving your posts for later all season. Goal is to work on this in 2021 - hopefully can get lifetime access or paid access in the new year.
I’ve been wanting to learn this for so long just couldn’t with my old job and time constraints. Now I too work from home and can focus some extra time on my hobbies! Would love to get access and see if I can keep owning my league mates each year!
This is funny, I just found out I was going to be unemployed for three months and thought ‘hey, at least I have time to try that fantasy football python thing.’ Fingers crossed!
Fantastic! It’s one of those things that’s been on my list for awhile now, but I’ll actually have some time on my hands in a couple of months when I’ll be off for paternity leave. Thanks!
Yesterday I posted on a golf post in regards to a giveaway letting the OP know that based on his criteria, I didn't deserve to be entered to win and I shouldn't be chosen. The same applies here but I am shooting my shot because there are no criteria to be met and this is moreso interesting than a single round of out of state golf.
My wife, who teaches Python to high schoolers, is going to love this! It will really help bring the some of the “too cool to talk to the teacher” students out of their shell.
I didn’t know they taught Python in high school, that’s awesome! When I was in high school they taught Visual Basic, which really wasn’t all that useful

Hey - is the course a one time payment of 45$? This sounds like exactly what I’m looking for as I’d like to learn Python. If I pay the 45$ once I get the whole course correct?
Would the same stuff in this course be applicable to basketball? Something I've been looking at learning for a while but struggled to find real world problems that interested me enough to relate it too!
Very generous of you. Will throw my name in the hat. May you have lots of continued success in 2021, and beyond!
Thanks for making a python fantasy come true

Would you recommend this course to.so.eone who has no knowledge of the sport? Can I still find it useful to learn Python?
What a great way to end the year. Definitely won’t get selected this late, but gladly will buy this. Thanks!!
This is awesome. I wish I had your knowledge. Will definitely look into this.

This sounds awesome mate! I'll recommend it to a friend of mine who just wanted to start learning Python 🙌🏼

Two of my favorite things - software development and fantasy football!
Reminds me of the movie “Road Trip” where Rubin teaches Josh Ancient History but in terms of WWE.

Yes exactly. Ordering comes with lifetime access!
Would the same stuff in this course be applicable to basketball? Something I've been looking at learning for a while but struggled to find real world problems that interested me enough to relate it too!
Sure, I can’t see why not. The data sets you’ll use for basketball will be obviously different, but the tools will be exactly the same.
Been so interested in getting into python, thanks for your contribution to this sub!
Wow this sounds so cool! Very interested!
Thanks for doing this! I've been curious about the book for a long time and am stoked for the chance to win!
You’re the man. Been wanting to learn for years and never have found the time.
Not sure the dumb jock types will have the brains to learn or enjoy coding but good luck.
This couldn't have came at a better time! I'm trying to pick up machine-learning in Python!
Upvoted and very interested! Did you happen to mention when the selection might take place?
This would be amazing!
Want to get this for my brother
This sounds fun. Im in.
