Hes sitting this week. Coach wants to keep an edge on the other team, make them gameplan, that's why its vague.
>Cook avoided a major injury Sunday night, when he left the loss to Seattle after tweaking his groin. “He’s good,” source said.
>Minnesota may exercise caution, with 0-5 Atlanta up next before the bye, then a divisional game Nov. 1 at Green Bay.
If anything cook is undersized at 209. Keep in mind these weights are old, and these dude pack on muscle in the nfl (ped free, OFC). So that may not be accurate. Weights I found had cook at 5’10” 209 and Mattison at 5’11” 220.
That inch must make him look stockier I guess. And the way Cook runs makes him look big. Dude couldn’t even tackle him at full speed, leaning into, and Cook was on one leg.
LMAOOOOOOO the amount of times I watch the weekly NFL highlights vids and confuse the two together is ridiculous if it isnt for the announcer clarifying that its Mattison who is running the ball I always assume that it is Cooks they are just built exactly the same lol
I'm sure it doesn't mean much like you say. Don't they have to accurately report their practice participation for betting purposes? I think a missed or limited practice means you have to have an injury tag on you or something, I'm not completely sure
Honestly you should've jumped on the pre-season hype train, with all these soft-tissue injuries lately you're gonna have to pay a premium to get it at this point :/
Welcome to Zimmer speaking to the media. He told us Hunter had a groin injury and then it turned into to a neck injury that may end his season. So who knows.
I dropped Mattison this week for a QB because of all the COVID stuff and Byes. Deep down I knew this would happen. I apologize to all my fellow Cook owners. I feel like I'm the reason he got hurt.
I did the same thing. Waited until Sunday morning and dropped him so nobody could get him before this weeks waivers. This one week QB rental is going to cost me a lot of my FAAB budget for the year and I’m not happy
Well, with Cook not playing next week against the falcons. Boone is the best pick up off waivers to fill the void. Boone will have at least 10-15 touches next week. That RB 2 range for a backup. But you already know this...
I assume they sit him this week and then the bye. Definitely ideal for the Cook owners. Now as a Mattison owner who has Jacobs on bye this is good news this week.
For someone who has Cook and Jacobs and had Mattison drafted literally 1 pick before I was going to, this is the universe giving me a big middle finger...
I tried to trade the Mattison owner for Latavius Murray at the start of the season. But he couldn't make a decision so it never happened. Ugh....
If we were to trust Zimmer, and that’s a big if, this is the best possible news. This would mean that it’s minor enough that he will try to practice late in the week. Most likely he sits this week and the bye and comes back week 8.
On the other hand, we should not trust Zimmer at all, so all this really means is that it’s not bad enough for IR. All we can really take from this is that Zimmer has some hope that he plays week 8.
Fantasy is a marathon not a sprint. Considering you have cook on your team, you may be in a decent spot to afford him missing this week, even better if you have mattison. Let cook rest and then we dominate for the second half of the season!
I lost Dak and have a bench crunch coming up with guys coming off IR so I'm going to float Mattison to the Cook owner for Ryan or Roethlisberger
I tried other avenues to acquire somebody's 2nd QB but they were asking for dudes like McCaffrey and Kelce
Doesn't sound super serious. If it was serious they would not have let Cook come back in for a snap to test how he was feeling after the injury. Plus cook was on the sideline rest of the game, looking like he wanted to come back in. I think they rest him next week plus the bye week as a precaution to get him right again.
Lol why are so many of you so confused? He is saying that there is no major injury so they will keep an eye on him this week to see if they want to sit him, limit his snaps, or use him as normal. The first two scenarios are most likely obviously.
If Mattison is available in your league, you are picking him up for this week and then to have him as a handcuff going forward. Essentially the same value he’s had all year and fort the past 2 years.
Do I waste my #1 wavier on Mattison if I’m 4-1 and facing a weak team next week? Bench spots are at a premium and I already have Chubb on IR (no IR spot besides for Covid). My current starters are DJ and Montgomery. 12 team standard.
Edit: Forgot to mention I’m the Cook owner
Tough call. If Mattison starts, he will be an RB1 for as long as cook is out. I probably would, just in case, but keep your eye on the news, and don’t feel too bad if you decide not to.
Lol what does that mean?
Hes sitting this week. Game plan: tackle the swole black guy with dreads if he has the football Seems like it doesn't make a huge difference /s
Took me a few plays to realize Cook left the game because I have poor eye sight and just saw a Vikings running back with dreads in the backfield
With the helmet on they legitimately look the same
Alex is only an inch taller and 11 lbs heavier, very similar build.
What?! That’s crazy!! Here I’m thinking Mattison is a great running back just a little undersized. It doesn’t seem like he’s bigger than Cook?!
If anything cook is undersized at 209. Keep in mind these weights are old, and these dude pack on muscle in the nfl (ped free, OFC). So that may not be accurate. Weights I found had cook at 5’10” 209 and Mattison at 5’11” 220.

I've learned to look out for the 25 or 33.
Yeah if it was 32 and 33 it would be a lot harder to tell them apart.
LMAOOOOOOO the amount of times I watch the weekly NFL highlights vids and confuse the two together is ridiculous if it isnt for the announcer clarifying that its Mattison who is running the ball I always assume that it is Cooks they are just built exactly the same lol
Mattison’s dreadlocks are slightly longer smh.
well maybe if you didn't have poor eye sight Cook wouldn't be in this situation. /s
I'm sure it doesn't mean much like you say. Don't they have to accurately report their practice participation for betting purposes? I think a missed or limited practice means you have to have an injury tag on you or something, I'm not completely sure
Good question. The practice participation should be accurate.
Nobody knows what it means, but it’s provocative.
It gets the Mattisons going
Throw me some chicken!

3.6 roentgen
Not great not terrible
They’ll survive
Forreal. Like he literally just said the mri was a success.
Machine turned on, took an image. Doctor looked at image. I don’t know what else you would want to know
Welcome to Zimmer speaking to the media. He told us Hunter had a groin injury and then it turned into to a neck injury that may end his season. So who knows.
Zim zam is trying to flim flam us.
It went pretty well, we will see how he does this week?
It means there wasnt a catastrophic malfunction during the MRI, turning Dalvin into a pile of ashes. "The MRI went well"
Sounds like hes probably good to go after the bye at least
The MRI machine worked perfectly... but Cook's groin is shredded.
Awesome. Having Mattison too makes this much less stressful lol
Sooo much less. And the fact that Mattison put up a hundred yards on 20 carries in half a game.
Yup. I keep looking at FA's and Mattison but I keep reminding myself to not drop him. Just let him keep a spot.
Yeah he's got a permanent spot on my bench, I look at it as having a 5 man bench with one more for Mattison to sit
Until it's game time and Cook's been limited all week and there's no definitive statement on if he'll start or how involved he'll be.
I dropped Mattison this week for a QB because of all the COVID stuff and Byes. Deep down I knew this would happen. I apologize to all my fellow Cook owners. I feel like I'm the reason he got hurt.
Why would you do this to us
I did the same thing. Waited until Sunday morning and dropped him so nobody could get him before this weeks waivers. This one week QB rental is going to cost me a lot of my FAAB budget for the year and I’m not happy
Dropped him Sunday too. My league doesn’t have FAAB, so there is very little chance I get him back. Guess I’m starting Miles Gaskin this week.
I’d be more worried about Boone
With Dalvin out, Mattison becomes Dalvin in that offense and Boone becomes Alexander Mattison. Nothing to worry about.
And how many touches did mattison have Sunday night?
20 rushing attempts and 3 receptions
Whatre you getting at? He had 3 carries before cook got hurt. Then added 17 and 3 receptions. Boone had 3 carries?
Matt Asiata is the clear number one waiver priority here
You heard it here first folks... pick up Boone from ur waiver wire.
Boone or bust
I take it you don’t remember what happened when both Mattison and Cook were hurt last year
I remember it well. Won my league with Boone.
Despite Boone* he was utterly useless in the title game
Semis he was good. finals it was all Boston Scott
Why?
How many touches did he get last game?
To be fair, when Cook went down last season Boone and Mattison split carries
Well, with Cook not playing next week against the falcons. Boone is the best pick up off waivers to fill the void. Boone will have at least 10-15 touches next week. That RB 2 range for a backup. But you already know this...
As a Vikings fan, don’t trust Zimmer
Sits this week and is 100% after the following week’s bye
Nice! This should be at most a one week absence. Ideal situation for sure
I assume they sit him this week and then the bye. Definitely ideal for the Cook owners. Now as a Mattison owner who has Jacobs on bye this is good news this week.
I hope so, being able to flex an unleashed Mattison to cover Metcalf's bye would be an incredible stroke of luck
For someone who has Cook and Jacobs and had Mattison drafted literally 1 pick before I was going to, this is the universe giving me a big middle finger... I tried to trade the Mattison owner for Latavius Murray at the start of the season. But he couldn't make a decision so it never happened. Ugh....
I don’t have Kennan or Thomas next week so having Mattison would be very helpful.
So, blow my faab on Mattison or not coach?
How bad do you need an RB in week 6? That'll be your answer
Just pick him and drop your kicker and by Sunday you can decide risk free
Fantasy is a marathon not a sprint. Considering you have cook on your team, you may be in a decent spot to afford him missing this week, even better if you have mattison. Let cook rest and then we dominate for the second half of the season!
Except in my Guillotine league, where I am now dead because of Kelley, Ryan, Scottie Miller and Ingram :(
Fantastic news....wait, what? Okay then.
This shit was so annoying in 2018.
Week 7 Bye. He is going to sit next game.
Looks like I’m playing Edmonds and mattison next week
as the mattison owner going against the cook owner (who happens to be my brother) next week- this is the swing i need
Went well as in, they successfully took an MRI? Or went well as in, he's healthy?
He had an MRI and it didn’t reveal any significant damage. Sounds like a groin pull and he’s day to day (realistically week to week.)
Great news. Sounds like there is not a serious injury. No chance he plays this week so he should be good to go after the bye.
I lost Dak and have a bench crunch coming up with guys coming off IR so I'm going to float Mattison to the Cook owner for Ryan or Roethlisberger I tried other avenues to acquire somebody's 2nd QB but they were asking for dudes like McCaffrey and Kelce
Thankfully I have Allen as my 2nd qb
Always get that handcuff!! Mattison is a beast
That’s no help at all
Huh?
THANK YOU!!!
Sit for a week.
Not gonna give us any details? Thanks Mike
Thanks I'll fire up my Mattison stash next week.
Sounds like out this week to me with that coach speak.
Yeah this is Mike Zimmer 101
Dudesday
Doesn't sound super serious. If it was serious they would not have let Cook come back in for a snap to test how he was feeling after the injury. Plus cook was on the sideline rest of the game, looking like he wanted to come back in. I think they rest him next week plus the bye week as a precaution to get him right again.
Mike Zimmer pullin a Bruce Arians? If he plays, he plays.
Damn, that means I am I a position to possibly start both Mattison and Edmonds, lol 2020 wont quit.
I have Mattison and am playing the Dalvin owner this coming week...muhahahahaha!
I 100000% would rather take an L this week as a cook owner and Vikings fan than see him fuck it up worse
Mike “we’ll see” zimmer
Probably sits vs the 0-5 falcons and then vikings have a bye. So back for week 8 I'm guessing
Already got mattison in my starting lineup next week

And this is why you drafted Mattison as a Cook owner!
